i had to walk from the nearest road through empty field and climb the highway fence to get to tool booths for cars/trucks and there i waited for an truck to stop, i had sign to Łódź but he took me throuh all of poland basically so maybe try Gliwice or something like that to catch one ride. Its not a spot for everyone but it works there is a lot of place for trucks to stoprating: 3/5, wait: 20 min 🪧, ride: 481 km ↓

I tried to get to Gdansk or anything toward the north. But this was a failure.
It was Sunday afternoon. The most of the traffic seems to be only a local/suburban.
I was going to Gdansk, but this is only a local trafic, and I got only a 20km ride to Łęczyca
A man who give me this short ride from Łódź, explained, that if I'm targeting the north, I should try to find a spot at Łódź Olechów DW713/A1, as this is a default route from Łódź toward the sea-shore.

If you are going to Warszawa, I would recommend asking just the people with the right license plates and not accepting rides just to Łódź―Anonymous, August 2016

We were there at 10 pm on sunday so it wasn't the best time to hitchiking. After 1.5h we got ride to Łódź―Kwiatek t, April 2016

We were a hitch-hiking couple (male+female) and it took us unfortunately 47 minutes on a Friday morning in the rain and wind to get a lift to Łódź. But it was Friday, 13th, so that explains the thing a bit... ;)―MTur, March 2015

You cannot find better place to hitchhikke from Warsaw to the west. But remember: If you want to go to Poznan or Germany do not Enter cars which are not going by highway, wait for another one. If you will catch someone to Łódź don't be affraid, there is a parking on a way, so you can get out and ask there.―Prosektor, July 2013

There is a lot of place to stop about 100 m after lights. Cars are slow, and you can easily get a ride to Łódź, Warszawa. It takes me less than 5 min. You can even try to get a ride to Toruń and Gdańsk. Hitchhiking with a sign is much better :) You can also ask on a 2 petrol stations.―Autostopik.pl, April 2013

Watch out now, since route 8 is under construction so less and less drivers use it to get to Wrocław (most tak A4 to Łódź and then take the turn to Kalisz). We waited there looong hours. Better check before how is the road.―Anonymous, August 2012

It's definately the best place to catch something directly to Warsaw or Łódź - especially in the mornings you don't have to wait more than 10-20 minutes here.―Razdwatrzy, April 2011
