I think this is the best spot towards Katowice after they finished all new roads constructions. For sure spots in Warsaw are worse than earlier. Got a ride to Katowice in about 25min on early Monday morning. Reachable with 733 bus.

Not a lot of cars, but opened 24/7. Take any ride that takes you closer to Katowice.

One of the best places to hitchhike near Katowice. We planned to go in the direction of Ostrava in the further Budapest and we managed to catch the driver to Vienna. Overall, a great place to catch a foot in the direction of Wroclaw, Berlin, Vienna. It is worth going to the parking lot and asking people where they are going - a lot of individual drivers and trucks.

This is obviously very bad spot - cars are "flying" on a highway, and those ones which are getting out of petrol station, just focusing on speeding up and join the traffic. However, even here is possible to hitchhike. Draw a big sign and be very patient and eventually you can get a ride very far. After two hours of waiting I got a direct ride to Katowice (~670km)

I believe most traffic is going to the Katowice area, but Krakow is not too hard either. As of august 2025 the hole is still there just before the woods that are close to the exit.

We were standing on the spot before the pedestrian crossing. A lot of space to stop. It was starting to rain, so luckily we got a ride really fast =) The guy was going to Katowice, but we wanted to go North so we stopped at Legnica.

Most of cars are going in kłobuck direction it is not the best for katowice or kraków

i hitchhiked here several times, usually it takes between 1-20 minutes to get a car going far south. a lot of people going south to częstochowa and katowice stop here. if you want to go to south of poland be patient and dont go to rawa mazowiecka (theres a lot of cars going there but getting out of rawa is difficult)

Very low traffic. But just ask around for driver if they going to Poland. Best to ask to take you to BP Rowien gas station where is a lot more traffic if you are going pas Katowice.

Very bad spot, honestly. Pros, you can catch only katowice headed cars. Cons, the cars ride very fast. Also, you need to walk in the grass for 20 min to get there

Arguably one of the best spots in Poland. Great to catch a ride towards Wrocław or Katowice. With some luck you can also find a driver going to Kielce, Lublin, Rzeszów or even Ukraine or Czech Republic. I believe there was a hole in the fence, close to the exit in the bushes. Just go along the fence and you'll find it.

MOP Szewce. A medium sized parking lot next to S7 motorway. You can get there from Kielce by bus no. 19 (get off at Szewce wiadukt bus stop). Go to the right, upstairs and through the door. If the door is locked, you can jump over the fence or try the gate a little bit further the small road. Most of the people go to Kraków or Katowice from here.

sign for katowice helped, less traffic than expected for 19:00 with a mcdonalds. no luck asking so stood by the exit, where you are visible to all cars from reasonably far :)
