got extremely lucky, was a 11km to get there, I was about to pass out and a Ukrainian took me in, invited me for burger and drove me all the way to warsaw with my Kaunas sign

Honestly not great. There are 2 gas stations, a McDonalds, and at least 3 different exits that cars use, so cars are dispersed and you can’t stand in a place where all of them pass. I also had not much luck since during my 4 hours wait, all the cars were either local, full, or going to Germany (while I needed direction Lodz - Warsaw). I ended up hitchhiking to the next gas station 80 km ahead, where I got immediately picked up by an Estonian couple.

Much more cars to Warsaw than Poznan. To get to the Poznan and Germany direction, it makes sense to get a car in the direction to Warsaw, get of on the MOP Barvinow (in 25 km), cross the pedastrian bridge there and change the sides.

After asking some people on the gas station, I ended up hitchhiking on the exit. It's a narrow place to stop, however drivers do stop there. Got a direct ride to Warsaw.

Pretty active gas station, perfect for catching a ride to warsaw. First guy I asked took me.

We (2 people) waited for much longer than we thought given all the positive reviews of this spot, but it might have been because it was at the beginning of the summer on a Saturday, and most cars were fully packed with families and luggage. We eventually got really lucky by finding a single driver when walking back from the Zabka who was sitting in the car and after we showed him our sign offered us to drive all the way to Warsaw.

Talked to quite a few people with no success for the Poland/Warsaw direction before trying it with a sign at the exit. This secured us a ride to Frankfurt (Oder) pretty quickly, but we also got a bit lucky.

Two people, got a ride fairly quickly by asking around. Initially to Warsaw but they decided to drop us off much further towards Germany

Amazing spot, a lot of traffic heading far east, got a lift to warsaw, but be ready with a sign even if they are in talking distance since polish people can get a bit scared if you speak english to them

Lots of traffic, refused a few rides to Warsaw to try and go further towards Germany without getting stuck. Found a guy going the Netherlands that unfortunately couldn't take us all the way but took us to another big MOP near Konin. Couple F/M stood by the exit with sign and thumbs.

Probably the best gas station to get a ride between warsaw and ostrow from my experience. We were trying to go to Lithuania but we accepted a ride to Bialystok which was maybe not the best idea because it can become pretty hard to get out of there. So if you are going to Baltics just stick to the main highway. Eventually you will get someone who is going there.

Was here after a lunch so already quite a few trucks were stopping for a day. And maybe here its better to ask just cars because there is quite a few. But still half of them goes to Katowice area. But eventually I got a guy to Warsaw and I think its better to not accept anything closer. Try to get at least past Czestochowa.

not much traffic, but I was instantly approached by a cool dude who drove me to warsaw and showed around a bit

to escape suwalki to get to southern direction(warsaw etc) just ask to take you to mcdonalds. then go and stand a bit before roundabout.

Waited literally 10 minutes before a Ukranian soilder pulled up and pick me in direction of warsaw. I had a sign, this is a really good spot

Tons of spaces for drivers to stop, only one exit so they cannot miss you, downside is that it is close to Warsaw, and not much traffic that goes all the way to Krakow if that is your goal

Got dropped off here as the driver had to go to the town near-by, and the bus stop is on the wrong side of road for Warsaw, better off catching a bus up the road, or trying the McDonald's/Gas Station's parking lots, ended up taking a bus as it was getting dark

Perfect spot for going south, all of the traffic is out of the city towards Ostrow Mazowiecka and Warsaw due to it leading straight to the bypass

Not the greatest spot for the Sochaczew and Wyszogrod directions; most drivers go to Warsaw, but I wanted to avoid it on my way north. The place to stop is not a big one, and quite a lot of traffic, but it worked.
