Good spot for Bucharest but people are not willing to stop for you. Got a ride from a turkish rider but he was going to Bucharest so left me in a highway exit, he thought it will be a good spot for Ruse… it was not

We were two hitchhikers with a Bucharest sign, we took bus 11 to go to the border. Be careful there are not many 11 buses in Ruce ! We took the one leaving at 13:00 from Pantheon. After 10-15mn, a couple stopped and took us all the way to Bucharest. The cars were very slow and we saw many Romanian cars so it must be a very good stop. There is a place for cars to stop right after the point

Mostly locals stop, but seems to be quite common for locals to hitch in this area. Got a ride after 20min to the next town on my way to Bucharest. Guy with sign saying Bucuresti

4 hours running around and talking to passing by trucks, stopping trucks and cars. a lot of ppl go to europe, but no luck with any of them. had to accept a ride to bucharest. maybe i was super unlucky.

5th car I asked took me to bucharest, gave me hotdog, coffee, and money. thank you, Romania!

Had really bad luck! Had a sign with Bucharest first hour no luck. Then tried with 5km sign and in the end someone helped me! He brought me to Bucharest to a metro station what a here

Spot seems perfect for Bucharest, but we got bad luck and waited for around 60 minutes

Pretty good place, can get there very easily with tram from Bucharest City Center, and all of the traffic is south, few shops nearby and can easily get back to town if need be.

As of now I think this is the best spot for east/northeast in Bucharest. It was recommended to me by a friend who hitchhikes very often from Bucharest to Tulcea and vice versa. This catches all traffic heading in this direction, and while there is technically no lane for cars to stop, the right lane is basically unused and so is a fairly practical stopping place. With single SLOBOZIA i got lucky and landed a direct ride to Tulcea, my final destination.

This was my solution to my screw up, and it kinda worked, but it was not great. Although the spot is great, especially if you need to reach Bucharest, getting to the east of the capital was no fun, but this place was not a bad start.

I just switched cars here. Quite a lot of tourists are going to the black sea. This is not a large gas station, but you can find a car easily. Just be aware to check if they are going in your direction, or you might end up like me. Getting around Bucharest isn't easy if you want to reach the coast.

I suggest waiting at the bus stop after the roundabout as cars are slower. Took me a bit because the first car wanted money but I got a ride out of Bucharest towards Giurgiu

Got dropped there by my last driver which wasn’t ideal but the shoulder was big enough for cars to stop. Got a ride in a Moldova registered Porsche all the way to Bucharest, probably gained a whole hour by the outrageous speeds he was going on the national road.

Ok, this is likely a great spot, but I just didn´t have a lot of luck. It was night and asking around, the majority go just locally, don´t speak English, or are going on vacation with full cars. But after 4 hours asking around, I found some Slovaks who took me to Bucharest.

It's a terrible spot to find a car going west, as I did. I was waiting with a sign west in my hands. I hoped that someone would pick me up before going to the new exit on the A0 motorway. But as I understood, people are not yet used to this exit and prefer the old Bucharest ring road. So I had to change my sign to Bucharest and drive a couple of kilometers to the old ring road.

No one wanted to give me a ride at the truck stop, so I got frustrated and was going to walk across the border to Romania. But as I was walking past a gas station, I saw a car and asked if he can take me across the border. It turned out that he was going to Bucharest.

An excellent spot to go to Bucharest or Ruse.

Driver before helped me ask for a ride across the ferry to Bucharest when my plan changed from Constanta to there. Might not be as good if you don’t have help asking for a ride.
