I waited at the end at the exit of the gasstation to the motorway (that way i could try thumbing for both cars and all the trucks) with a sign for Szolnok, not many seemed to go that direction… finally though, i got a truck all the way to Oradea (Romania) :)rating: 3/5, wait: 70 min, ride: 258 km →

Did get a ride fairly easy, started at half past four p.m. and by five were on the way. There is enough space to stop if you want to. It's a good spot to catch workers leaving towards Oradea. hitched with no signrating: 4/5, wait: 16 min, ride: 157 km ←

If you start early enough (sunrise) it wont be so crowded, Look like a traveler with a Backpack and a Shield and its easy enough to get a ride to Oradea for free. If the driver enjoyed your company he might even drop you at the Border to Hungary if you ask politely!―Erth Walker, November 2015

With patience and some Luck you can get a ride to Oradea, Maybe Cluj. Much more traffic going to Arad though. If you are heading to the Northern part of Romania, consider going via Arad, once you're in Ro hitching will go much faster!―Erth Walker, November 2015

Bus stop outside Szajol, direction Debrecen-Oradea-Cluj, on the number 4 highway. I got here from Szolnok taking a bus to Torokszentmiklos (paid 370 forints, but if you pay for Szajol, must be less than that). From the centre of Szolnok, I walked East and then South over Tisza river (road 442, Kertesz ut.), then turned left at the roundabout and took a bus to T-miklos from a bus stop.

The spot is rather good, although pretty close to the city center. There is a bus stop long enugh even for truck to stop - we catch one to Oradea from here.―Smokofoko, August 2015

All the local people are hitchhiking from here towards Oradea. Be aware that there will be some guys which will offer you a ride for money, try to not accept it.―Anonymous, May 2015

Spot to hitchhike to Hungary, Slovakia, Poland. Its in the industrial area of Oradea so there are a lot of trucks who do long distances! You can take tram number 1n or 1r until the end.―Anonymous, April 2015

Only go here if you are going far away, like Cluj or Oradea. There are a lot of prostitutes and other hitchhikers and it took us a long time to go back to Târgu Mures. I recommend you get the Bus to Balauseri that cost 5/7 lei and try from there if you are going to distance cities.―Ferfred2, September 2014

There is a high chance that you are coming from/to Cluj/Trgu Mures and the driver will drop you here. Don't worry for it is a perfect spot. If your intention is to go beyond Cluj, like Hungary, Oradea, Baia Mare, others, many drivers enter the Highway here and your chance to find a car is great. I've done it here several times.―Anonymous, September 2014

If you are trying to go to Târgu Mures, Sighisoara and further on like Brasov and Bucharest, maybe it is a good Idea to hitchhike until Campia Turzi. Many cars go until Campia Turzi or Turda only, but your chances there are bigger, since there is the conection with the highway that comes from Hungary/Oradea and cars that are going to Bucharest do not enter Cluj Napoca. I've hitched here multiple times and realized I wasted a lot of time with my "Targu Mures" sign. Dividing this trip into several hitchhikes is the best option.―Ferfred2, September 2014

Best place to go to Oradea. There is a lot of competition here. A lot of drivers will ask you for money. We didn't want to, so we walked a bit ahead and after 20 minutes someone picked us just because we look like travelers, not like commuters.―Radu122, September 2014
