Waited five minutes for a ride to Sibiu.

Got extremely lucky with a ride by one of the first cars to pass by. Took us to Sibiu.

Good spot for outside of Sibiu. Got a ride tu Cartisoara, he even showed where the next good spot for Balea Lake is.

Everyone goes to Sibiu :)

Good spot for Sebes or Alba Lulia. I had a sign Alba Lulia but the driver brought me to Sibiu so that was even better :)

One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a sunny day. On my way from Sibiu to a very small place on the way to Râmnicu Vâlcea called Lazaret. The place is really good. Loads of space to stop. No shade. Good visibility. Not very busy traffic. Most cars were going either towards Brasov or Sibiu. Cars go slowly due to a roundabout. After (lucky) 13 minutes I got a lift to Lazarte.

One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a sunny day. On my way from Sibiu to a very small place on the way to Râmnicu Vâlcea called Lazaret (successful). The place is really good. Loads and loads of space to stop (some sort of massive entrace to shops plus parking space). Cars go slowly coz it's after a roundabout. Good visibility. The traffic is much smaller than in the roundabout closer to the city. Which means many cars passing trough the other place stay in the city. So, I think this place here is better. There are actually two lanes. But the traffic was small that even the cars from the farther lane could pull over. No shade. After 10 minuts a French couple stopped and gave me a lift half way, to a roundabout just before Talmaciu (they were going to Brasov), where quickly I got a lift to my destination.

Two old guys picked us up, very nice people here. A lot of people returning from the mountains. We went to Victoria and then Sibiu.

Hitch hikes to Sibiu, there's a lot of people returning from the mountains, we went along the road to the highway and got picked up instantly.

Okay Spot to Go to Sibiu on the way to Bucuresti

One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a cloudy day, drizzling. On my way from here to Sibiu. I finished hiking 3,5 kms south of this place. Initially I thought it'd be fairly easy to HH here. But the road which looked easy on the map turned out to be quite busy, main road, but physically narrow. I walked 3,5 kilometres when cars passed me by inches (no sidewalk, no nothing), splashing me with water (a huge pour down just finished), to find a first place where a car could pull over. The place is on the inside side of a curve, which means less visibility. But has enough space to stop. Bad thing was that cars were driving fast here. And, for some strange reason , coming in waves. So drivers had a split second to make the decision, with other cars just behind. Luckly for me after 25 minutes two friendly guys stopped and took me to Sibiu. Less than 1 kilometre up north, just after the railway bridge is a place which looks way better.

walked here from serbian border. very little traffic. got insanely lucky and drlve with american all the way to Sibiu. somewhere close to the point there's a bus station, you can stand there, but I walked and just turned around to each passing car

Not a bad spot, I asked around and found a guy going to Sibiu. It was kinda funny because he spoke no languages I speak, and it was truly a spiritual experience, but he was nice and got me to a place where I changed cars.

Big runoff for cars to pull over, it’s the best way to get to the highway from Deva so it works even if going east. I got a ride to Sibiu/Nagyszeben

Doesn’t feel great but it’s really the only way to catch the highway going south, not too much traffic so cars do stop. Probably easier for Sibiu than Deva

Estis tre malfacile alveni ĉi tien. Ĉar mia veturado de la lago Galbenu iris al Sibiu, kaj la elirejo de Brezoi al Bukareŝto estas neebla, tro rapida, neniu loko por halti, tro da rapidaj kamionoj, tro danĝera. Do mi decidis iri kun ili direkte al Sibiu ĝis ni povus trovi lokon, sed ĉar ankaŭ tio estis kamiono, ni maltrafis la haltejon dekstre proksime al ĉi tiu stacio kaj ili fine portis min al alia benzinostacio 6 km norde, de kie mi ricevis veturon ĝis ĉi tiu.

Got ride behind pitesti on route to sibiu

Much better than the previous spot. More trafic and even the locals told us that this is the best spot for lugoj and sibiu.

Since the highway to Sibiu is not open yet, all cars pass through here, so lots of traffic. Bit hot without shade on a summer afternoon, but some guys took me straight to Cluj.
