Shorty after got a lift us to Suceava from the side of the road. The driver was very kind and took a huge detour. He brought us to the station just in time to hop on our train.

(2 people, f, 26 + m, 49) Tried our luck on Monday morning in the opposite direction. We decided that it's to hard to hitch to Putna from here and wanted to take the train from Suceava instead. Got a lift after ten minutes which took us half the way. There is a bakery and a convenience store on that corner. Traffic is slow and cars have plenty of space to stop.

However, we tried to go northwest towards Putna on a Sunday evening and it was horrible because people barely spoke English and even with a explanatory Romanian text on the phone it took repeated tiring conversations before the drivers realized that we were hitchhikers and wanted a ride from them. Also many people seemed to be on vacation and did not want to take us. We got frustrated after 90 mins and started walking.

From Piata Mihai Viteazau you take bus number 8. You go by bus till Someseni, this is after Aurel Vlaicu. There you can find a good ramp. There is enough space to make a contact with drivers, there is a trafic light and also the cars are very slowly. From here you can go to Dej, Baia Mare or Bistrita, Ucraina, Suceava, Moldova. Even with little trafic a truck picked me up and drove me directly to the other middle of nowhere place I was going close to Suceava

Close to hostel castelul Dracula towards Tihuta pass. Direction Vatra Dornei and Suceava is enough space for stopping and a sheltered pic-nic table. Being up a slope, trafic is slow. Unfortunately seems also to be quite little trafic with a good share of tourists with full cars.

very good point to go to Suceava or Ukraine. the point for hitchhiking is in a bus station
