Took the bus here from the city center (650HUF) as someone else suggested and got taken to Belgrade by the 3rd car that passed on a Monday morning. Good visibility and easy for cars to stop. Don't waste your time at the gas station down the road and go here instantly instead!

Well… this is not a “jackpot” spot. It was a rainy Friday afternoon, traffic was agonizingly low. People are nice here, but it took me a while to find a ride to the promised land of Belgrade. At some point I tried hitching right on the highway, which the gas station security guard politely told me not to do. Finally, as I was beginning to scout out locations for a ditch to sleep in, I was picked up at the gas station by a very friendly guy going to Belgrade. Nice! This is indeed probably better than hitching directly from the border, and perhaps I was unlucky to wait so long. Just be patient I guess!

Not a great spot honestly. It's the lane that trucks need to go through to merge again onto the highway. Quite a bit of them will actually stop but I did the mistake of accepting a ride to Pirot. From Pirot there's no way you're getting anywhere, if you decide to go there, go to the bus station and you'll get a 4€ ticket to Nis. From Nis it was fairly easy to get to Belgrade or further.

Go in this exact spot, where truck drivers stop. Don't bother with cars if you're going to Sarajevo or Belgrade. Get the sign and ask them nicely when they stop. The 4th truck I asked to brought me all the way.

Probably better to ask but I stood with a sign at the exit. One hour without success, then I took a break at the McDonald’s and a guy picked me up right after to Belgrade, where public transport is free

Took a bit of time but eventually you’ll find a ride going towards either Belgrade or Novi Sad.

Standing just before the station, I got a ride in 5 minutes to another péage on the way to Belgrade

A guy drove me from Belgrade to IKEA, there is a nice gas station where you can hitch further south. Its unlikely you'll end up here, but if you do its a great spot

Got picked up very quickly, driver was going to Belgrade, but I wanted to stop in Čačak. You can get a direct hitch to Belgrade from here

a toll gate before Belgrade. Come with a bg cardboard for a big sign. i tried hitching here with a big NIS sign. After 45 minutes cops came to do their kind of hitchhiking (stoping and controling cars) and they chased me away. Luckily there is a gas station 1.5km down the road. there is not so much going on on the gas station but it is ok. I imagine that for me it might have been faster to go to belgrade and hitch from there than trying here but not sure. i think if you re not unlucky like me with the cops you will ge t a lift south from the tollgate eventually.

Good spot, it's popular station on highway. I got ride directly to Belgrade in few minutes. If the driver asks you to came across the border by foot it is ok. The customs service are used to hitchhikers and crossing the border by foot.

Very bad spot for trying to hitchhike beyond Belgrade. Only local traffic. Also the employees of the gas station were really unfriendly and asked us to move away from their gas station. Finally we gave up and put “Belgrade center” on our sign, getting a lift to Novi Belgrade to a bus station immediately. From there we took a bus to the city center and then took anther bus to an appropriate spot on the other side of the city (see hitchwiki!!!). From there it was very easy

It seems to be a pretty good place to hitchhiking in the direction of Budapest. There is a gas station, a large parking lot for which trucks and passenger cars stand. The station can be reached directly from the E60 road. We tried to catch transport from there to Budapest (from where we wanted to go further towards Belgrade) we were lucky and we came across a driver from Serbia who easily offered us a ride to Belgrade. In general, the traffic is quite high and a lot of locals and tourists. (There is also a Tesla charging station so maybe you can hitchhiking a Tesla)

Found a ride easily to Belgrade.

I had a sign with Belgrade and asked a few drivers. The third driver I asked first said no but then came back to me and told me that I could come. He was going to the outskirts of Belgrade but he told me that there where free busses.

Long wait cus cars take some time to check documents to cross the boarder, but in the end a polish trucker ended up picking me up, taking me almost till Belgrade. Waited around 3h
