Quite busy rest area with most people obviously heading to Vienna, but with a bit of patience you may catch a ride west (A1), east (A4) or north (A5). We (couple) managed to find a ride straight to Bratislava after one hour on a Sunday evening.

Probably not a horrible spot, but I just wasn't lucky. I was heading to Bratislava, but after an hour an a half, I left as I didn't get the ride.

Terrible hitchhiking spot, we were heading to Bratislava an had to wait four hours before we moved elsewhere. Not recommended, half of the cars were empty or full of some random bs, everybody was reluctant to pick us.

Might be the best spot you can get. Not a lot of people going to the gas station but you can stand near the safety lane near entryway of the road and capture the attention of the drivers on the highway. Idk if it’s that effective though since people there are driving relatively fast. I tried for an hour and a half then tried the McDs. I met a fellow hitchhiker there by coincidence and we were just talkin and chillin. He even bought me a cheeseburger. We ended up going back to the gas station and both hitchhiked together (I wanting to go to Balton and he wanted to go to Bratislava). After 20 minutes or so a lady who works in Budapest and lives in Balton offered to take me and host me for a night. Honestly one of the best rides in my life so far. Long story short maybe best to hitchhike during rush hour as it worked for me lol. But just be patient and make sure to have a big, big sign. If you need cardboard ask the gas station, they gave us some.

Had a sign saying Bratislava and stood next to the motorway entrance. Most cars were leaving the motorway to go to the industrial district, but after 25 minutes I got picked up by two Serbian guys around 30 driving directly to Bratislava. The gas station isn't frequented much, I think a sign works better here than asking people filling up their tanks. Good spot to go East

Waited for almost two hours. Eventually a taxi driver took us to the airport for free where we instantly got a ride. I don’t recommend this spot even though there are some people going to Budapest or Bratislava

Very chill spot with gas station and McDonalds next to the highway towards Eastern Europe. Givin it 4 stars since there wasn’t a lot of people on a Sunday around 9 AM. Lots of local plates but I got very lucky with a family go to swim near Bratislava, where in which I wanted to go. Probably help’s askin around too.

Got a car to rest station near the slovaquia border, then to bratislava. Lot of local traffic, you can ask for cartboard at the mcdo next to it

Got a ride to bratislava, the guy was kind enought to leave me in the city center. Not a lot off traffic + there is police here on this rest area, with a car next to best stop for hh.

We tried to stay on the exit but the sun was too strong so drivers could not see our signs. We moved back to the parking place and one Romanian guy waved on us and took us with him to Bratislava.

Sign doesnt work, better to ask around, more people go to Wien rather that Bratislava. Its a good spot we were just unlucky

I would not really recommend this spot. it is not too busy and most people are driving short distance. i recommend asking around, we eventually got a ride to Bratislava.

Lots of traffic. A nice Hungarian guy took us to a gas station closer to Bratislava. Its a 30minute walk from the nearest bus station.

A lot of traffic to Prague, Bratislava or even Budapest. And of course to Poland. It is worth to wait direct car to the border and further, than accept local commute rides.

We were stuck for hours at a previous gas station, and we successfully arrived to this station that is better. A lot of people will pass and be polite and smiling. We were super tired and we just waited sitting at the exit of the parking with a sign "Wien" in front of us, and a really nice man going to Bratislava took us and let us in the ring road of Wien. Be patient.
