Asked drivers then decided to make a sign Badajoz/Trujilo. 1 hour later got picked up.You have to stand in a complete sun, no place to hide from it. Wouldn’t recommend staying here 12:00-18:00 without sunscreen

We stood there with a Lisbon sign starting around 14:15 and also asked people. It’s a fairly small gasstation and it was a Sunday so even less cars were coming through but on busy days I would say it’s worth a shot. We gave up after maybe two hours and are now taking a Blabla car to badajoz.rating: 2/5, wait: 120 min

It's located around 18 km from the Alto de Extremadura gas station, so you just need a short ride. After a lot of asking around we found a driver who took us all the way to the border in Badajoz!―Ewelinalucy, May 2016

With a sign HUELVA, with my girlfrienf, we ait here only 5 minutes. But the guy who pick-up us wanted to drive us until Caceres... :) :) :) Very funy ! We leave him when he put gas-oil in a gas station near the split between te autovi to Badajoz and the national road to Portugal.―Railway, March 2015

The first truck driver I asked offered me to sleep in his truck and go to Lisbon at 4am with him. He told me that normally he takes the freeway to Badajoz in Spain to avoid to pay the toll in Portugal. Trustworthy and friendly Portuguese truck driver.―Sevetse, March 2015

Trucks going to Porto stop here. Sometimes those going to Lisbon too, althought they prefer the Spanish freeway to Badajoz as opposed to the expensive Portuguese A23 or the free but derelict and dangerous national road.

It's the last gaz station before Talavera. You can stop here if you're going direction of Badajoz/Portugal. There is also some truck stopping at the restaurant, try to find Andres the truck driver there, he's really nice :) !―Anonymous, January 2014

I was 3 times there, two times to Madrid, very easy. One time just arrived and i have a lift, and the other one above 20 min. The third one was direction to badajoz and was harde, one hour to take a bad lift to an other petrol station in the middle of nowhere―Iwan1989, April 2013

Actually i use that spot just to go to Badajoz, it is very close. There isn't too much long-traffic on this road so if you want to go to Sevilla, it will be better to go to Merida (you can use the bus, it is very cheap ~4€ ) and take a better spot there.―Iwan1989, December 2012

not the best spot for a ride to spain since most of the drivers heading south to Algarve or Setubal. You need to ask many people until you're like. so far i haven't found a better spot, so it's for the moment probably the best option for direction Badajoz/Spain―Wukk, March 2012
