Most spanish i talked to did not go to Zaragoza. After some time i got a ride with a german women who was going to the french pyrenees. I went with her to Zaragoza to continue to Barcelona. It was around 9 am. I would recommend this spot when going out of Madrid, since other Spots of hitchhiking out of Madrid didn‘t go well. It‘s a gas station + restaurant and there is fairly good traffic.

We asked people at the gas station and after asking 8 or 9 cars, one took us to near Barcelona ! Great

Best place to leave Marseille. I used it two times. This time, i got a ride straight to Montpellier within 5 minutes, the car was going to Barcelona. I use a sign "MONTPELLIER, Fos/Salon". In Salon there is a massive toll on the highway where you can have better luck. The other way through Fos is a smaller road where you can hitchike from roundabout.

This petrol station is surprisingly quiet and pleasant (compared to the rest of the Jonquera industrial area). A constant flow of cars stopping by, but not super busy either. The right amount of traffic. Eventhough I had a sign saying "Figueres", where I was planning to take a train, a middle aged french couple took me all the way to Barcelona, my destination.

Was just standing at the end of the station because I'm lazy, sign Barcelona. Still got a ride within 20 minutes. Less friendly cars than before, but lots of them (very good steady flow, it was also lunch time).

Waited at the exit of the car area for 5 minutes with sign Barcelona. Lots of cars and trucks. Got approached with ride to Narbonne by lovely older couple, took it. They fed me breakfast and sweets.

Got a ride to Barcelona after some time, maybe when it's less traffic on the highway, you can try to go directly at the highway right after the toll at the side of the road

I waited here, because of the comment before. Got picked up by a family to the other side of Zaragoza. Hope to get a ride to Barcelona there. (The car actually came not from the curve, so from the other direction is also posst)

We were walking around the gas station and asking people with a sign to Montpellier, suddenly a guy came to us and said he's going to Andorra. We were trying to get to Barcelona, so we were very lucky!

It is not the greatest spot, but the previous guy took us to a gas station in Torreblanca and that was even worse spot. There wasn't much traffic and not an ideal place to stop, lot of trucks. Most of people were going to Barcelona, we had sign with Castello. After some time a kind lady stopped us and took us to train station in Castello. Boy and girl, afternoon, weekday.

Stood there with a sign to smaller town on the coast, but get a ride in direction Barcelona with a funny german guy in caravan. Mainly locals went here, it was a weekday in the early evening, a boy and a girl

Very good spot to go towards Barcelona but Spanish don't take hitchhikers

After an all too brief visit to Barcelona, I decided to begin my journey north, back towards my home. The original plan was to follow the coast, but being right in the middle of one of Spain's worst heatwaves in years, I decided north to Andorra would be a wiser (and prettier) option. I took the train with a Greek girl I met to Montserrat, where she promised a cable car, a very scenic train, and a monastery, how could I say no! After arriving, she told me she was staying that night in the monastery, and I decided to accompany her to help translate since she didn't speak any Spanish. This lead to a fantastic lunch with the monks and priests amongst the Dia De San Joan celebrations! Upon leaving, the bridge seemed like the most logical place to try to stop traffic. However, after an hour of shouted remarks from the patrons of the café across the road, and plenty of middle fingers from passing cars, my patience was starting to ware thin… After a quick beer to recharge, a refill of my water bottle, and another half hour wait, I got a lift from a very loud Spanish man up the motorway a little ways. Despite my pleas to drop me at a service station, he insisted in dropping me in his terrible hometown, Sallent… If you choose to hitch from here, I'd still say the bridge is the best option going, and the train to the monastery is probably one of the most scenic options for getting out of Barcelona. However for your own sanity, definitely do not leave the motorway, get yourself dropped at a service station!

When i was dropped off by the Mallorcans i was initially nervous, it didnt look like much, but this seemingly empty (albeit very pretty) view point is a surprisingly excellent spot! You can stand under one of palm trees, behind the barrier before the exit from the view point, be in perfect view of the drivers and in the shade; functionally hitching directly off of the road! I got a ride in under five minutes from a fantastic Catalan man called Juan-Ramon, who took me all the way to Barcelona! My aim for the day was Tarragona, so being able to make it all the way to Barcelona was absolutely amazing! In Barcelona i would meet a Greek girl and we would take the train together to Montserrat for El Dia De San Joan.. To Be Continued...

It's a tricky spot. Cars come kinda fast from the roundabout, they have little time to see you and little space to stop. I was going to Barcelona, meaning the cars are on the second lane making it even trickier. Still got lucky after 1,5 hours

Very big station. For cars and trucks. A lot of trucks crossing to spain, a lot to la junquera. If you want to take a bus from there is not very easy, not very well conected. A lot of cars going to Moroco, but very full, not a lot of space. Very very good place. I took a ride to la Jonquera at 1 minute from arriving. Now in the truck i am thinking maybe a should have wait a little bit more and get it until barcelona. Will see in junquera. Gooodluck

2 people. We got there a lift straight to Barcelona, seems to be a good place to reach Valencia as well. We standed on the bus stop, maybe 2 minutes from the gas station. Not so much traffic, many locals, but it should be possible. If someone going to Castalla, they can drop you there. Really quiet area, nice place to have your picnic or camping. Affordable prices in the gas station shop (for ex 6eggs for 1.65e). There is restaurant as well. Enjoy.

Not the best spot to Llieda direction as most of the people were going to Barcelona. Got a short ride from an Indian taxi driver eventually.
