University. In weekdays within the school year, you'll have people going through all day, to Galapagar, Madrid, Las Rozas, Torrelodones... Forgot my wallet after class and gave it a go, should be easy as long as you look "normal".

Proprqvly the other street is better, pass more cars, how told me the gas station worker. But i went here(take a train from madrid(4.40€) and walk for 40 mins. I was lucky because a meet a bulgarian man who drove me at barca, also payed me the lunch. Very lucky.

People here stop much more than in Madrid (I suppose because it’s a small town) nevertheless they go locally so I got stuck in Ocaña. If you want to go south hitchiking I recommend going along la costa del sol avoiding Madrid region because there are more foreign people.

Hitchiked during summer. That seems to be a perfect plact, the problem is spanish people (at least in the Madrid region) mostly stopped taking hitchikers since COVID. I hitchiked there during more than an hour but no one stopped. There’s a traffic light so I went to see directly people and finally a man accepted to take me, but he was not going far away so I got stuck in a village.
I’m sad to say I don’t recomment hitchiking in the Madrid region nowadays, better use the famous car sharing app.

There is almost no traffic, maybe if you are alone, there were few trucks drivers.
We stood there realy long time, with a sign to Madrid, then without a sign and then we started to ask people on the gas station. First person was a Czech guy (we are also from Czechia), he told us that he is going to Madrid, but unfortunately he does not take hitchhikers. After that we asked another guy and he took us to Madrid and in Madrid he bought us train tickets to Salamanca, so we were realy lucky. But it is a terrible spot. Boy and girl, afternoon, weekday

Maybe the worst gas station in Spain, or maybe it is because people from Spain do not understand hitchhiking.. First day we stood there for like two hours, it was evening. And police officers told to us to get out of there, because hitchiking on autovias is ilegal. So we get out and build up a tent on a field next to highway, pretty nice spot for camping. The second day we decide to hitchhike on the roundbout with a sign to Madrid, we stood there for maybe six hours? After that time some guy took us to a gas station in that direction, maybe 20 kilometers. We found out that, police officers were waiting for us on the previous spot, so be carefull. P. S. Do not believe people from Spain, if they told you they are going to drop you off on a busy gas station..

Stood there with a sign to Madrid, very low traffic in that direction. After some time a guy took us.
He told us he would drop us off at a busy gas station, it was a lie and in fact the worst gas station in Spain. We werent lucky this time, but I am sure he thought it was a good idea. Boy and girl, late afternoon, weekday

Majority if the cars are going to Madrid, but some are going to the neighbouring towns north. I was going to Santiago (i know, far) with sign saying "A-6, Santiago, A Coruña" next time I would probably just use Ávila or some closer point.

friday afternoon
its a big station. laods of trucks go for the restaurant, and quite a nice flow of cars at the petrol station
ive been asking everyone across station and restaurant, until 3 chicos going to WOMAD festival (which i was unaware lucky me) drove me all the way to caceres!

the station in good, a decent amount of cars
quite a lot of locals...i was going in direction of caceres and on thursday afternoon (from 3PM ) it took me 3h to find a loft to xanadu, a big shopping centre near by (the guy told me was better from there, and after 3h i just took it)
there, in my opinion, was worse, cus being on the other side of the A5, everyone was going towards madrid
i also tried at the roundabout but with no luck
so i went back here, slept on a tent behind the station (its pretty chill), and next morning, after 1h (10-11AM), i found a lift to the station at the 88km, with a restaurant that seems better
lets see

i ended up here after a disastrous series of tiny lifts out of barca
the station is massive, loads of trucks (who all told me they couldn't take me with them), gas station where you can ask people, supermarket and apparently showers too
i didnt have time to explore, cus i soon found a lucky lift to madrid, despite i was aim soley to lleida. lucky day for me
some peeps where going to barcelona too, so im sure you can find for both directions

i was going dlin direction lleida, i had a big ass sign, my mistake was to leave barcelona with a lift that wasnt direct to there, and ended up in igualada. i had to walk a bit to get here, the most obvious spot to go west (enogh space for car to see you and to stop too), and soon after a nice guy drove me 10min inside the autopista to a quite big service station, where i actually found a lift all the way to madrid. so it went well in the end

Not many drivers. On this street are so many gas stations (direction madrid-saragossa) that just a few drivers stop on every station, so not many options. In the end we found soneone taking us to the next gas station 20km away

Good for direction to Madrid. You can just wait at the entrance of highway or try to ask people at the gas station.

THIS SPOT IS AMAZING! So many cars and many going to Madrid. You need two people to ask all the drivers. Spots like these make hitchhiking easy in spain

We have been 2 girls, hitchiking during Semana santa to the Madrid. Lots of people had full car, because of holidays, so it was harder to find ride to Madrid. Nice position, it could be easy to find ride in different day.

Bit difficult to get to- had to hike from Ugaos Mirabelles station for a bit then jump over a fence on the other side of the AP68 but after asking for 30 mins or so we got a lift to Madrid ! Think we got very lucky though, a lot of people staying near Bilbao

I don’t how you people autostop from here. I’m sure it’s possible but just tell me the way. It’s a big road with a looot of cars that don’t have where to stop nor how to see you. On top of that when you go to Madrid the cars nearest to you are not going there so you won’t pick anyone near you. The only idea I had was to ask people on the red light, but as I said it would be people on the middle of the road and I didn’t want to risk being there when the light turns green. I’m disappointed I tried both ways out of Burgos to Madrid and both are bad, I’ll have to take a bus :(
