Its one of the best spots to go south from Burgos. The cars are going quite slow and have a place to stop even though the trafic wasnt huge it was okay. Two cars stoped in like 5 minutes going to Lermo, but we wanted to go straight to Madrid so we waited for half an hour and than got a ride to Madrid

The gas station is quite busy and almost everyone goes to madrid. You can find toilets, showers (broken atm) and a small shop with chargers. The prices are the usual. There is a small restaurant but not many people come to eat. Most stop for a quick pause as there is a small park nearby. Its as good as it gets for spain, many people are freaked out by hitchhiking but we managed to catch a ride to madrid within 30min.

There is a gas station + a restaurant there. Many cars come by, around 50% go to Valencia and 50% go to Madrid. You can ask drivers at the gas station or at the restaurant, we did both and found someone in the restaurant right away. A cute couple took us 1 hour closer to madrid. Tip: When you find a service station on their way, make sure it has many ratings (1000+) so you don't get stranded.

To go towards Madrid/Andalusia: You reach this spot by the public „metrobus“ 430A from Valencia. Its not the red city busses but the yellow metrobus. It starts from the main bus station but dont try to catch it there because noone knows where it departs. We caught it one spot down from there and it came by the time stated on google maps. Its like 3€. The spot itself is not great but okay. There are people going to Valencia or other local towns (many), some to Madrid and quite a few to Andalusia/Sevilla/Portugal. Many cars are full. We arrived at 20:00 and tried for 2 hours and got close to a lift to madrid multiple times. We went to sleep in a field nearby which was perfect. Next day it took us another 2 hours to go to another service station 1 1/2 hours towards spain. I don't know if we just got unlucky but I think its just spain. Many people are shocked when you ask them for a lift.

Most spanish i talked to did not go to Zaragoza. After some time i got a ride with a german women who was going to the french pyrenees. I went with her to Zaragoza to continue to Barcelona. It was around 9 am. I would recommend this spot when going out of Madrid, since other Spots of hitchhiking out of Madrid didn‘t go well. It‘s a gas station + restaurant and there is fairly good traffic.

In five minutes two cars stopped. One going towards Boadilla del Monte and one going to Guadalajara. Was trying to go to Madrid, if I had waited a tiny bit more I would have gotten one I think. Solo female, Saturday afternoon.

Lots of cars either come to Navas or go out of Navas in direction Ávila. Not much traffic going direction Madrid. Did get a car quite easily. Solo female, Saturday afternoon.

I wanted to go to Granada and got to this spot by bus from Madrid Center, it's a petrol station with a restaurant. Almost all of the trucks are not going outside of the city, they stay in the industrial zone around here so I had to wait a long time. There's also not much traffic or cars to ask. But after 3,5 hours I got really lucky and found a guy that went all the way to Malaga, he dropped me off in the center of Granada, it was perfect! So if you plan some time, this is a nice spot to get further south.

By far best spot for Madrid near zaragoza but is not easy to reach, yoi can take the bus 501 but don't know why today never passed(was signed on google maps) or you walk a LOT. This spot is good but the spanish HH mentality less. I maroccan guy saw me ask people and offered me a ride for Madrid.

The spot is similar at the one after but is under the bridge(better in summer) and there is a lot af space for cars to stop. The problem is that is an alternative way to enter in the higway for madrid so not much traffic. I wanted to take a bus(501) for the plaza big stores center(best spot so far for madrid) but it never pass, I also think is not cheap. I was ready to leave this spot and walk 2 hours for Plaza but a pakistan pick me up and dropped me there. Very lucky. Maybe you are luckier than me and go Madrid directly or can wait a lot.

University. In weekdays within the school year, you'll have people going through all day, to Galapagar, Madrid, Las Rozas, Torrelodones... Forgot my wallet after class and gave it a go, should be easy as long as you look "normal".

People here stop much more than in Madrid (I suppose because it’s a small town) nevertheless they go locally so I got stuck in Ocaña. If you want to go south hitchiking I recommend going along la costa del sol avoiding Madrid region because there are more foreign people.

Hitchiked during summer. That seems to be a perfect plact, the problem is spanish people (at least in the Madrid region) mostly stopped taking hitchikers since COVID. I hitchiked there during more than an hour but no one stopped. There’s a traffic light so I went to see directly people and finally a man accepted to take me, but he was not going far away so I got stuck in a village. I’m sad to say I don’t recomment hitchiking in the Madrid region nowadays, better use the famous car sharing app.

There is almost no traffic, maybe if you are alone, there were few trucks drivers. We stood there realy long time, with a sign to Madrid, then without a sign and then we started to ask people on the gas station. First person was a Czech guy (we are also from Czechia), he told us that he is going to Madrid, but unfortunately he does not take hitchhikers. After that we asked another guy and he took us to Madrid and in Madrid he bought us train tickets to Salamanca, so we were realy lucky. But it is a terrible spot. Boy and girl, afternoon, weekday
