Waited 2,5 hours for a drive Salamanca direction, wasn’t too busy but today is the middle of the long weekend though. Few drivers before we got our ride wanted to take us to Pamplona so probably it is a good spot to take a hike there.rating: 2/5, wait: 150 min, ride: 128 km ↙

After I waited for an hour with a sign "Espanha", a guy approached me and took me after Salamanca. Apparently, many people at the station were willing to take me but thought Spain was too far. Be patient!rating: 5/5, wait: 60 min 🪧, ride: 408 km ↗

I tried asking around at the gas station but all the cars were full or we're going towards Salamanca. There are a lot of truck drivers and foreigners (France, UK, Portugal, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland...) at the gas station, but many are families. After I decided moving to the entrance of the highway, a Spanish guy exited from the highway, and promised me to take me to Valladolid (my sign). Turns out he was going further and I ended up in Burgos.rating: 3/5, wait: 60 min 🪧, ride: 205 km ↗

There is almost no traffic, maybe if you are alone, there were few trucks drivers. We stood there realy long time, with a sign to Madrid, then without a sign and then we started to ask people on the gas station. First person was a Czech guy (we are also from Czechia), he told us that he is going to Madrid, but unfortunately he does not take hitchhikers. After that we asked another guy and he took us to Madrid and in Madrid he bought us train tickets to Salamanca, so we were realy lucky. But it is a terrible spot. Boy and girl, afternoon, weekday

Found a ride to Ávila (even Salamanca, but they couldn't take me bc of full car) .. if you go to Salamanca, going just to Ávila is also good, I found a quick tide there at the north exit to highwayrating: 5/5, wait: 30 min 💬+🪧, ride: 36 km ↙

If you go to Spain, you have to look for cars with Spanish registration, and ask them if they can drive you straight to Spain. We got a lift to Salamanca.rating: 4/5, wait: 90 min

Got a ride, from Marc and Eve, that initially should have just taken me to Salamanca but ended up taking me all the way to Seville on my way to Morocco. Good spot honestly.rating: 5/5, wait: 20 min, ride: 579 km ↓

third spot I tried to get to Salamanca through Tordesillas but again, Castile sucks for HH. Valladolid is one of VOX’s bastions (fascists) in Spain, no wonder.rating: 2/5, wait: 15 min

A lot of space for cars to stop, end of Vitoria heading for Burgos at first seems very very nice, but the reality is that waiting time is quite long and there's a lot of local traffic (for example to Miranda).HOWEVER, my friend and I had huge luck - we stopped a car going to Guarda, Portugal, through Burgos, Valladolid and Salamanca. This was probably like winning a lotery (we were heading for Lisboa), but it happened.
Good luck!!!

Direction Portugal. Quite a lot of traffic, slow enough. There is a space for cars to stop and not only people from Salamanca are passing by. Be careful about cars when crossing the road to get to the place. When it gets dark there are lamps which help with your visibility.
We were boy and girl hitchhiking after dark with sign Portugal. Truck driver took us to a petrol on highway after 40 minutes waiting.
