Theoretically a good spot, theres a wide roadside just before the roundabout so cars are going slow and can easily read your sign and stop for you BUT i personally did not have luck with this because i think because of the full line marking there or maybe the fact that my sign said Valencia and only Smaller Tarragonarating: 3/5, wait: 90 min 🪧

When i was dropped off by the Mallorcans i was initially nervous, it didnt look like much, but this seemingly empty (albeit very pretty) view point is a surprisingly excellent spot! You can stand under one of palm trees, behind the barrier before the exit from the view point, be in perfect view of the drivers and in the shade; functionally hitching directly off of the road! I got a ride in under five minutes from a fantastic Catalan man called Juan-Ramon, who took me all the way to Barcelona!
My aim for the day was Tarragona, so being able to make it all the way to Barcelona was absolutely amazing!
In Barcelona i would meet a Greek girl and we would take the train together to Montserrat for El Dia De San Joan..

Waited 30 minutes and found a ride with a friendly construction worker to Tarragona. The service station is easily accessible, no fence hopping required!
On a Monday, there was lots of traffic and people were friendly when we talked to them.

Headed north towards Tarragona. Decent amount of traffic, about 30-40% headed in the right direction. Plenty of room to pull over and drivers had good time to see us. We had instruments and a sign. Gave up after 8 hours. Perfectly good spot, but Spaniards just don't pick up hitchhikers.rating: 1/5

Probably a good place to catch rides to the south (Tarragona, Valencia and further) but not to the west (Lleida, Zaragoza, Madrid...). Cars in that direction take A2, wich is free.―Blaitc, November 2014

Update: it is R4 and I was told by people there if I wanted to go to Valencia I had to go to the eastern side of the highway aswell, which I did and got a ride to tarragona after 30 min.―Anonymous, March 2014
