Great spot, reviews were right ! We asked 3 cars and one of them got us directly to Valencia! We were 2

Realy nice spot for hitchiking to Valencia. Lot of foreigners, we got ride after twenty minutes, stood there with a sign Valencia, boy and girl, it was evening, probably weekday

Absolutely terrible spot, we were lucky. Lots of traffic, but cars are going really fast and there is no real place to stop. We had a sign to Valencia, and some guy took us after 30 minutes to a gas station in that direction. Boy and girl, probably weekday and early evening

Theoretically a good spot, theres a wide roadside just before the roundabout so cars are going slow and can easily read your sign and stop for you BUT i personally did not have luck with this because i think because of the full line marking there or maybe the fact that my sign said Valencia and only Smaller Tarragona

I'm going to preface this story with the fact that I got extremely lucky. After finally escaping Montserrat, the man who I got a lift from absolutely refused to let me off at the service station, despite how many times I asked him. (My town is better for you.) Upon arrival in Sallent, I immediately felt like this wasn't going to go very well; it was a very small town, with a single road joining the motorway with hardly any cars on it. I was waiting at the entrance to the roundabout, next to a supermarket, which unfortunately meant that any car actually using the road, was more than likely going to pull into the car park instead to do their shopping. Time wore on, and in all the time I was there, not a single car pulled onto the exit roundabout. I thought I was stuck. As per usual in the world of hitchhiking, when it looks like you're stranded, one of two things always happens. Either you get a good night's sleep and try again, or your saviour magically appears for the most random reason imaginable. In my case, it was the second option. As I was desperately trying to thumb a lift from any of the Saturday evening shoppers, I hear the magic words from across the car park: “Donde vas?” (where are you going?) A couple in a camper van from Valencia were driving into the mountains to escape the heatwave, but their van had no air conditioning. They had decided to pull off of the motorway to buy ice to put in front of their fans in the van! And just like that I was saved, and bound for Puigcerda. I didn't think I'd be leaving Sallent until the next day, so for that, Jordi and Claudia, I am incredibly grateful.

It was a journey to get here, I took a bus to Ca n'Amat and walked from there. First I wait for bus 67 but then apparently I need bus L67, they are not the same... I was at the doors of the restaurant asking the people if they go to Valencia, the people were nice. It helps to speak Spanish and perhaps French for the Moroccans. After 1,5 hours got a ride to Valencia

Many cars went to tarragona and some to Valencia. We got a ride even further to Alicante.

Tried to get a ride to Valencia for 5 hours at night, but being 3 guys, it was nearly impossible.

Worst spot ever, we waited for a full day here and everybody was telling us no and looking at us like we were crazy. Very few cars on a weekend in May. We finally gave up and took an amazing bus to Valencia :))

2 people. We got there a lift straight to Barcelona, seems to be a good place to reach Valencia as well. We standed on the bus stop, maybe 2 minutes from the gas station. Not so much traffic, many locals, but it should be possible. If someone going to Castalla, they can drop you there. Really quiet area, nice place to have your picnic or camping. Affordable prices in the gas station shop (for ex 6eggs for 1.65e). There is restaurant as well. Enjoy.

2 people. We spent evening and next morning there trying to get a lift. Local guy told us that it should be easy and we can use sign „hacia valencia”. But in reality it was different. Enough space to stop for a driver near roundabout and if you go further as well. Neighbourhood is quite nice, lots of shops like leroy merlin, lidl (we slept in a tent on the parking there) - you can find whatever you want to. Finally we got a lift, half of a way to Alicante . To sum up, maybe depends on your luck. Write a comment if you use this place and tell something about your observations.

A decent stop to go to Valencia

It’s really not the best spot but I didn’t find a better option in Valencia. After half an hour the workers at the petrol station sent me away and said it is forbidden to hitchhike in Spain. So I waited at the exit of the petrol station. There a woman picked me up after another hour of waiting. She brought me in a little town at the coast.

Two guys with sign to Valencia. We got our ride around 9:30 after 10 minutes waiting.

Large port area, highly reccomend for finding a truck out of Valencia. Subway goes to Sagunto then it's an hours walk to the port (also a bus that goes some of the way I believe)

This is maybe the best gas station in the area. It’s open 24h and has a (great) restaurant. It is super known and frequented by trucks. There’s also a fair amount of tourists that do 100km+ rides. The trucks literally stand in line for you. A lot of trucks go to valencia. People do go to Gandia from here, also trucks, but you’ll need to search for it. I haven’t been to the other side of the highway but it seems identical for those going west. Eventually a couple from Andorra (approached!!) to pick me up to valencia.
