I got a ride all the way to helsingborg from the first car i asked. This is a good spot to walk up to people and just ask for a ride. Here you can find people travelling long distances.

A pretty decent spot, and the ride was pretty fast by Seden standards. I stood here with a ride reading Helsingborg and got off at a gas station in front of the city.

Good spot to get picked up if you’re going toward Jönköping and onward. We were offered rides as far as Lund and Helsingborg. Traffic slows down in the roundabout, and there’s space to stop by the road. You’re also clearly visible from the parking lot by the Sibylla. If you want to go along the West side of Vättern (towards Skövde), a tip is to hitch a ride to Stjärnsund (about 5 mins away), where roads 49 and 50 split. On the 49, all traffic is going in the direction of Skövde.

on the ferry from helsingør to helsingborg, asked a few of the trucks and coaches. got a lift from a truck driver all the way home to gothenburg.

Maybe I just got lucky, but I got a ride to Helsingborg almost immediately. I slept in the nearby field.

We were asking the people at the gas station and got the 6 hour ride strait to Helsingborg

Lot of truck drivers. Good for goteborg, helsingborg, trelleborg, ystad or other cities in sweden. Just ask around lot of polish and ukrainian drivers. Keep in mind that lot of drivers is waiting for the papers, it can take 10,20 minutes or 5 hour or like mine drive who took me 4 days but happy for me i was waiting around an hour

Good spot, but still had to wait an hour. Maybe that was because I had a sign "Göteborg" and not so many people go in that direction? I don't know. Anyway I was taken to a gas station along the highway a bit before Helsingborg, as I've read here to avoid rides to Malmö, but not so many people up there and I had to wait about 2h.

We were immediately picked up by a commuter heading from Helsingborg to Copenhagen. There’s space for a car stop, but no trucks. Also a gas station nearby where you can ask around. Good starting-off point!

Not sure how the staff act in 2025 but since there was a lot of truckers didn't need to as I found a ride south within 30 minutes, a lot of trucks go all the way to Helsingborg here, you can also try the ramp but people seemed to speed there since most traffic came from Mantorp

Somebody told us it is illegal to stop at bus stations with a car and that might be the reason why people don't do it. After a while we were still lucky and two people brought us to Helsingborg.

waited for 2 hours, and the people stopping were all going to Lund, Helsingborg or Kristianstad, so not very far, although it was impressive how often people here stopped

One of the best stops in the area, lots of cars all coming from the highway. Many of them headed towards helsingborg. After 90 minutes we got a ride towards jönköping. Good circulation of cars though

Spot is perfect for Malmö. Tried with a sign to helsingborg for about 40 minutes without success and two other hitchhikers arrived and we got a rid within 5 min. like others already commented when you want to go further it’s better to wait a little bit longer because the next spot was not that great.

Got a ride to Ljungby very quickly on a Saturday morning by standing on the side of the road with a "Helsingborg" sign, there is plenty of space for cars to pull over.

Arrived here in early August, on a Friday 20.00. tried for two hours then. No luck, low but reliable frequency. Mostly Swedes, and danish plus Germans. Went camping and tried in the morning. I hiked 2km away because of the highway noise, on the east side. Asking a farmer for a bed or barn crossed my mind. Crossing west is possible, there's an underpass if you go a little north. Glumslöv 9AM Saturday. 30min for offer to Snapparp. in the meantime I got 2x Stockholm and 1 offer to Helsingborg. I talked to people at the gas station, but carried a sign saying "Norr på E6". Toilets are free and accessible until midnight I was told.
