Great spot to get out of chamonix in the direction of Switzerland. I had a sign that said “Suisse,” and got a ride very quick all the way to Basel. Could have gone even further to Strasbourg.

great spot towards basel/mulhouse.. waited for around 2hours and half but got a guy who went all the way towards basel airport.. not so common for people to stop but still okay.

Waited just over an hour and a quarter. Was trying to go to Zurich HB, got offered to Zurich weizekon. Was there between 15:15 and about 16:35. Everyone was going to Basel? Bit unfriendly. Be ready for a long wait

Heading towards Geneva with a sign. Got a ride with an Afghan man going to Geneva in 15 minutes standing at the exit. Lots of people going long distances and got a lot of smiles and waves. Would recommend to get out of Basel towards Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich etc.

Kinda bad for stopping cars but if you have to leave Sissach it might be the spot. Mostly local cars but we found someone taking us to Basel

Signed at the exit with a sign for Germany, and got a lift far into Germany by a Swiss guy in a GIANT Mercedes. (A lot of local Basel traffic)

We were just unlucky, trying to get to Basel. Otherwise good space for cars to pull over. Finally got a lift to a truckstop just outside town.

Nobody took us towards „Basel/France“ locals told us this is actually a bad spot because it’s very stressful and drivers have to switch to the lane away from the walkway to get even on the highway. We are now heading towards „Emmenbrücke, Sprengi“ with the bus as it’s less traffic and most people will go in the direction of Basel.

Held a sign for Basel/Switzerland, waited 35 Minutes for a Ride to Basel, bc we where 2 persones it took a while Longer, while waiting 2 Cars offered a ride to Basel but only with enough space for 1 of Us. So Great Spot to hitch southwards.

Close to shop closing time is hard for basel, lots to mulhouse, which we should have taken. to then go to basel by train.

We were there for a long time, we took a break that is not included in 60 minutes. Most people don’t go to Zurich or east at all. Tho a great spot to get to Basel. Good space for cart to stop and see you

We had two signs one for Basel and other one for France, we wanted to travel to Bordeaux. I think it's a great spot to got to Switzerland. Two males.

Good spot at the border. There was only one lane open and therefore some space for cars to stop, idk if it’s like this all the time. I waited with a sign to Zürich. Many cars crossed the border and where passing me. After 15 minutes a guy approached me who had parked after the customs and asked where I needed to go. He then took me to "Pratteln Süd“, the first big rest area after Basel. I think if you wait long enough cars would also stop right after the border. 1 male

I waited one minute and a VW bus stopped and took me close to Basel. Good spot. And always some traffic I guess, because there is a Shopping Center too. 1 male

The spot is not really good. There is not much traffic and it’s pretty small. I got offered some rides to the south, but needed to go to the north. If you ask every car that is coming you will probably get a ride. I was lucky and after like 45 minutes a nice woman took me to the next rest area "würenlos“ which is much bigger! Try to go there if you need to go north/towards Basel. You can go from one side of the highway to the other using a pedestrian bridge, but you need to climb two relatively big fences. 1 male

Good spot to go to Zurich, but harder to get past Zurich. I tried for over an hour to get to rest area Würenlos or further, but no luck. I had a sign with "Basel“ and asked drivers. In the end I took a car that drove towards Zurich airport and got out at “Büsisee“ and crossed the highway to the other site there (fence hopping needed). Tuesday morning at 7:30, 1 male. Maybe later in the day more luck
