traffic mostly going to switzerland via basel, however i can't think of another option for france. can be a bit of a wait to get someone who goes at least to belfort and can drop you on the porte d'alsace. it's worth the wait. male, early 30s, alone

Good spot to go west but we wanted to go backward to Basel and it didn't work, nobody went the other side. So we took a ride to the péage si we can change side. Thanks Baptiste.

I was there twice on my way to France. It´s very easy to get a ride in the right direction, so great Spot. Hitchhiking further into France I always got stuck up in Mulhouse, so maybe it´s worth trying over Basel or waiting fore someone who brings you to a gas station, not some roundabout near Mullhouse.

While on a pit stop on my way to Basel, scared of not being able to cross to France, decided to ask the two (french) cars next to me if they would give me a ride. One did to Mulhouse. This gas station did seem to have more French cars than others, so probably good for that (also lots of Swiss). Solo female.

My new technique strikes again! (Monday morning solo female). Sign in hand (Freiburg, maybe Basel would have been better sign though), walking around looking lost, for a place to hitch, immediately got offered a ride to Basel. Lots of Swiss cars, some southern German, not many French.

We were three people trying to hitchhike to Pratteln and then to Luzern. Hitchhiking St. Jakob Strasse this way was a bad idea : there is no place for cars to stop and most people just waved back at us or ignored us. We tried to avoid public transportation as it's quite expensive, but we ended up taking a train to chill in Basel city center instead...

On a sunday evening, without a sign. Quite bad, cars go fast in the entryway and there is not a lot of place to stop. I still got a lift to Basel, but it was a bit risky I think. Might be safer to try to go on the D201 for a bit.

Mostly Basel (those usually wouldn't stop) or Strasbourg. We had to refuse multiple cars, as we were trying to get to France near Mulhouse

Wanted to go to Germany and than north. After 50 mins the first car to stop took me back to Basel close to the A5. Not the shortest route but better than staying here.

As an exit dweller I don't like this place. There is to much going on with weird driving routes around the place. But you can't argue results. I was gone to Basel in 23mins, so I must rate 5 stars.

Drove with a camper to Würenlos wich is the last gas station before the split Bern/Basel.
