Super good spot, turned down one guy who was only going 50kms and the second took me all the way past Geneva

It is not realy good spot but it gets a job done + its not that dangerous and it is okey if you stop cars going from down to you. Lot of people also starts here going to Geneva (not only Lausanna)

nice to get out of geneva direction saint julien work perfectly with a friend at midnight lots of trafic and place to stop recommend it if there is no bus anymore 😸

Great spot, a lot of traffic. I stayed at the exit from the gas station with a sign (Geneva) and my friend was asking people in front of the restaurant. We hitched a nice army lady, she took us to the exact place we wanted to visit near Geneva.

It’s a quite good spot. I waited on the on-ramp of the highway. Many cars coming, enough space to stop. In the first 10 minutes 3 or 4 cars stopped, but they didn’t went my direction. I wanted to go to Geneva/switzerland. In the end I got offered a ride to Mulhouse or be dropped off at a rest area towards Geneva. I took the ride to Mulhouse and the guy even drove me to Basel (bale) to the train station. I even met someone else hitchhiking there at the same time, so cool! 1 male alone

Having hitchhiked a lot out of geneva, it is so much better to just go straight to the bardonnex douane than trying from here. Either just take transit, or like me rent a donkey bike, which can be returned in the small towns close to the douane. To get into the douane there is just a small gate to the west, out of sight, that can be jumped easily

Not a lot of place to stop but best spot to leave Sallachances toward Lyon. Many people will go to Geneva, i recommend to stop at a gas station or a toll on the way

Good spot to Geneva and french alps. Ask people directly (the same as in any gas station)

Traveling alone. Tried both sign and thumb+sign. Came all the way here from Lyon center. It was NOT worth it. Tons of traffic, but very few cars going towards Geneva (or they simply did not want to take me) Early in the morning it probably works better because many people work near Geneva and live in Lyon

I just landed in Geneva Airport and tried to get BlaBlaBus to Grenoble, but it got canceled :/ So I just found this spot on Google maps and decided to give it a try. There's enough space for cars to pull over, but not for trucks. And the road turns directly to the highway. A lot of French drivers, who work in Geneva and live in France go this way. Took some time but got a great company on the way and it was easier once in France.

Worked pretty well asking around, got a ride in some 30min to Lausanne but the guy was going to Geneva.

Rainy saturday morning. After three minutes oliver picks me up, invites me for coffee, bets on horseracing and brings me onto the highway direction geneva in no time! Good start :-)

It was really hot when I was there and the parking lot is in the complete sun. Difficult to get further then Geneva as most cars are Swiss and don’t go further. Eventually I found someone who took me close to Grenoble.

Lots of cars going to Lörrach, Weil. I waited 40 minutes and found someone who got me to Geneva. It’s better to ask people.

It is very good spot on working days to go direction to Geneva or Lausanne. However on Saturday I was waiting for 3 hours any car to this direction and it never came. 4 cars stoped for me and were ready to take me to the mountains, but I skipped it hoping to get direct ar to Geneva. Then two guys approached me and offered a ride to Mont Blanc and I couldn't resist :)

Good amount of traffic, and cars are going slow and will read your sign. Lyon definitely is easier, I was trying to go to Switzerland but with a sign to Geneva I got a ride in about 20 minutes. And super lucky they were actually going to lausanne which is where I also wanted to go.

Good spot, got a ride very quickly to another toll booth down the road as I was trying to get to geneva. Subtracting 2 stars cause it sucks to get to from the other side of the road. Walked 30 mins to a bridge. Had to cut through somebody's muddy farm and then bushwack through a prairie and jump a fence to make it there
