Sunday is slow, during week would be better, multiple directions possible, Zurich, Fribourg, Lausanne, Bienne. Spot is covered from rain and lots of room for stopping.

Not a lot of space to stop but it works. I got a ride to Basel. Recommend to us a sign as it goes direction to Lausanne, Fribourg and Basel.

Really good spot to go to Lausanne or Bern. Got a ride to Bern in December 2025 around 10am

Took not even a minute to get to the border, from where you can easily continue onwards towards Lausanne. Just stand at the entry of the gas station, cars on the road can pull over.

Worked pretty well asking around, got a ride in some 30min to Lausanne but the guy was going to Geneva.

Nice gas station+parking lot, most traffic was moving towards wallis for holidays so had to wait for a bit to get to lausanne

Got a ride instantly, straight to Renens. A lot of people live in france (its cheaper) and go to switzerland for work, so in the morning theres a lot of traffic, some to geneve and some to lausanne, maybe even further.

It is very good spot on working days to go direction to Geneva or Lausanne. However on Saturday I was waiting for 3 hours any car to this direction and it never came. 4 cars stoped for me and were ready to take me to the mountains, but I skipped it hoping to get direct ar to Geneva. Then two guys approached me and offered a ride to Mont Blanc and I couldn't resist :)

Good amount of traffic, and cars are going slow and will read your sign. Lyon definitely is easier, I was trying to go to Switzerland but with a sign to Geneva I got a ride in about 20 minutes. And super lucky they were actually going to lausanne which is where I also wanted to go.

First of all: whoever drew the Squat symbol here thabks haha you got a good laugh out of me when I got here. Otherwise: okay spot, stood witha lyon sign for like 90minutes and coud not get a ride for that direction but with a lausanne sign like the 3rd oerson stopped for me

Not many cars but all will be going geneva or lausanne, so high success rate.

Came back to this spot again, and had my doubts if I was just lucky the first time, but yet again soon I managed to get a ride to Lausanne. Probably not the best spot in the world but it gets the job done.

There’s an emergency lane and a lot of space for cars to stop. Even it’s a non-pedestrian zone I didn’t had problems when the police passed by. It’s the best place to go south (Lausanne, Geneve, Montreux). I stood with a sign that said Geneva and in 10 min. I’ve got a ride to Lausanne.

Terrible spot. I tough it was a good point to go to lausanne but nooot. But easy that someone take you to a better place!

Really great spot for hitchhiking towards Lausanne. With a Lausanne sign, got a lift in 5 minutes to Châtel-Saint-Denis and from there it was an easy hitch to Lausanne.

Very active service station. Had no trouble finding a ride standing at the exit. In 10 minutes I was offered 2 rides to Zurich but I declined and the 3rd few minutes after took me past Bern. Probably possible to find rides to Lausanne and Geneva if you're lucky.
