Nice gas station+parking lot, most traffic was moving towards wallis for holidays so had to wait for a bit to get to lausanne

Got a ride instantly, straight to Renens. A lot of people live in france (its cheaper) and go to switzerland for work, so in the morning theres a lot of traffic, some to geneve and some to lausanne, maybe even further.

It is very good spot on working days to go direction to Geneva or Lausanne. However on Saturday I was waiting for 3 hours any car to this direction and it never came. 4 cars stoped for me and were ready to take me to the mountains, but I skipped it hoping to get direct ar to Geneva. Then two guys approached me and offered a ride to Mont Blanc and I couldn't resist :)

Good amount of traffic, and cars are going slow and will read your sign. Lyon definitely is easier, I was trying to go to Switzerland but with a sign to Geneva I got a ride in about 20 minutes. And super lucky they were actually going to lausanne which is where I also wanted to go.

First of all: whoever drew the Squat symbol here thabks haha you got a good laugh out of me when I got here. Otherwise: okay spot, stood witha lyon sign for like 90minutes and coud not get a ride for that direction but with a lausanne sign like the 3rd oerson stopped for me

Came back to this spot again, and had my doubts if I was just lucky the first time, but yet again soon I managed to get a ride to Lausanne. Probably not the best spot in the world but it gets the job done.

There’s an emergency lane and a lot of space for cars to stop. Even it’s a non-pedestrian zone I didn’t had problems when the police passed by. It’s the best place to go south (Lausanne, Geneve, Montreux). I stood with a sign that said Geneva and in 10 min. I’ve got a ride to Lausanne.

Terrible spot. I tough it was a good point to go to lausanne but nooot. But easy that someone take you to a better place!

Really great spot for hitchhiking towards Lausanne. With a Lausanne sign, got a lift in 5 minutes to Châtel-Saint-Denis and from there it was an easy hitch to Lausanne.

Very active service station. Had no trouble finding a ride standing at the exit. In 10 minutes I was offered 2 rides to Zurich but I declined and the 3rd few minutes after took me past Bern. Probably possible to find rides to Lausanne and Geneva if you're lucky.

Good spot to go onto the highway. A bit of space to pull over and a good amount of traffic. Good to have a sign either direction Neuchâtel, Bern or Lausanne

Large service station towards Lausanne and Geneva. Best is to stand on the exact marked spot with a sign, just in front of the gas station. Cars leaving the parking lot will pass by and whenever there are people filling up gas you can quickly go ask them.

Asked two cars at the gas station and got taken on the highway towards Lausanne. Good spot to get out of Neuchâtel into this direction.

Stood there with a "Suisse" sign. Not the best spot for cars to stop, but it was still fine to catch a ride. Most cars go direction Vallorbe/Lausanne, so if you go to Neuchâtel, it's best to accept a short ride and get dropped off at la cluse et mijoux

I have hitchhiked at this spot many times. It is my prefered spot when hitching out from Lausanne to any direction. When going East or towards Fribourg or Bern, I usually stay a few meters below the south highway entrance (Dir. Bern), just when the road splits in 3. When hitching West or towards Neuchâtel, I usually stay at the north entrance, as well right when the road splits in 3 again. Usually wait times are around 20-40 minute.

Many cars passing by going towards the highway. Either you stand at the bus stop where cars can safely pull over or just a few meters further where visibility is better. Easy to get a ride towards Lausanne, I recommend taking the first ride to the service station la côte. From there, you can find many cars travelling long distances who stopped there. Most cars at this spot won't drive further than Lausanne.
