Mostly local traffic. Got lucky since there’s a lot of construction on route 7 so people were being diverted to 7A. Tattooed kindergarten teacher brought me to Manchester.

A great spot, had 2 stops with offers as far as manchester! Highly recomended. 2 people.

pretty much the only good spot going south from Llanidloes. it's pretty sleepy around here too. luckily an off duty cabby from Manchester was going to Swansea and took me all the way to Brecon

Kept asking people if they were going to London, some people going the other direction or Manchester. Could not find a ride. Tried going out of the city but also could not get a ride there.

I spent quite a lot of time asking around for a car heading east towards Newcastle, but did not find any. Then I rearranged my destination for Manchester and found a ride pretty fast.

I pass through here a lot when going to stoke-on-trent and ask for a lift to manchester, it never takes long

Large newly built services with a tons of cars parking but most of them being families. We were trying to get to Liverpool from Sheffield through Leeds and a lady took us to a nice services between Leeds and Manchester

A lovely brummy couple took us to Manchester after only 15 mins of asking around!

Slow highway. Ride from a guy who told us all about Manchester. Complained about the New York transplants but admitted that he was one himself.

Was feeling disheartened after the cops chased us off the interstate. But then we got a ride from a trucker bound for Manchester. You never know.

I got a ride towards Manchester from here on a Sunday morning.

Walked here from Leuven, asked around, two of them were going to Brussels and the third one happened to be a couple living near London, so I got a ride from here through Eurotunnel all the way to north of London. And they ended up being worried that I will get stuck hitchhiking out of the London bubble, so they bought be a crazy expensive train ticket to Manchester, so I got to my friend’s place by the evening! ☺️

Good traffic, most of it is going to Manchester tho.

Still a very good spot. Caught a ride to Manchester at 2am after about an hour's wait after I had already caught a ride here at 9pm -- unfortunately the truck driver gave me bad info on where he was going, fortunately he passed by here again three hours later to bring me back...

I've used this spot twice, both on a Saturday morning. You can very easily catch a ride to Burtonwood services from here, or all the way to Liverpool or Manchester. Recommend a sign saying M62, and either Liverpool or Manchester, but if you're going to Manchester and get offered a right to Burtonwood services take it, you can get to Manchester quite easily from there.

How do you get stuck for 27 hours? Anyway, I got a ride in about 5 minutes going around, asking drivers in the dark. The guy asked me to show him my ID, but took me almost home in Manchester.

For some reason or other the Midlands have some of the worst services in the country. The Spaghetti junction you shouldn't use, because you will never get a lift. If your heading towards manchester, try to get a train or bus to Stafford, and hitch from there, the next few service areas Northbound are horrific for rides Northbound, you could end up in one of these old fashioned services for over 24 hours...train / bus stafford, believe me, it will take the strain of hitch hiking off you, north stafford and you wont have problems going north,

I waited at the entrance of the gas station shell and waited less than 3 minutes to get a ride ! There is a lot of traffic, especially to Manchester (whre i was going to) and people go to get some gas before driving. A very good place !
