The place is a parking for trucks, very few normal cars, there's a shower and a toilet for them, and also a running kebab place. But other than that no gas station or much reason for cars to stop there. I'd recommend not hitchhiking from there unless it's a morning where you can catch a truck ride. :) -sunday afternoon

We got sent here by ASFiNAG (highway services in AT) after unsuccessfully going to hitchhike at the exit from the roundabout (which is already a highway) and after some waiting time they drove around again and gave us a wave and a thumbs up - so this spot is approved 😅👍🏼 It is possible to stop cars going from all directions, enough space on the roadside to stand and to pull over. A bit tricky if you are going to SLO/KL, because the roundabout lanes are the 2nd and 3rd.. if going direction Germany, then it's great, it's the 1st lane closest to you. -2 guys, sign KL, Saturday afternoon

Do not try to come here. Unless ready to face the police or highway services. :) We just got there, happy that we found a spot (not easy to get there) but the second we started hitchhiking, a car from ASFiNAG (highway services) pulled over telling us kindly to go away since it is a highway and recommending us to go to the roundabout (unexpected recommendation by them, but that roundabout is not considered a highway.. that was nice of them) so we went to the roundabout and waited an hour there to get our ride to Klagenfurt -two guys, sign KL, Saturday afternoon

Not too busy Reststation, but should be easy to get to Graz

Everyone goes to Vienna!! (Saturday morning, two guys, sign Graz) We asked around, hitchhiked with a sign... About 20 cars would be willing during those 3 hrs to take us to Vienna. So recommendation would be to take anything, or not come here in the first place if heading to Graz. I was here before solo, and had a different experience (read below)

Really easy to find a ride to Italy/Udine

We stood before the Traffic Lights, just after the Crossroad there are parking Lots at the Side of the street, so its okay. Cars are still a bit fast but have to Stop bc the Traffic light. Not perfect but good engough i'd say

Great spot for getting south. Hitchhiked at night, 2 guys, still doable, sign "Graz"

2 guys, in the evening, in the end with sign "WN" (Wiener Neustadt) I recommend trying to reach the McDonald's in Bad Fischau (beautiful building) because many people go just locally, but from the Rest station it's just easier to go further.

Ĉar la aviadilo malfruiĝis, mi uzis la okazon por peti pasaĝerojn veturon al Bratislavo, se iu irus, kaj mi sukcesis trovi unu ankoraŭ en la aviadilo, tial mi metis la lokon ĉi tie kaj ne ĉe la flughaveno de Lisbono.

Most cars have no room because they are visiting their family in the balkans and people who go to Italy don’t take you. But if some one who drives to the balkans has space they are insanely kind.

A very chill place to wait on a green space, there is a traffic camera near it so people dont accelerate quickly which makes it a fairly quiet spot too. But it was pretty dead when we were there, pretty much only local traffic and gas station was quite empty as well. We waited for 90mins and got no offers to Bratislava so we decided to move over to Raststätte Simmaring. Might work better on the weekends

Got picked up by a friendly german who told me I shouldn’t even try in Bratislava.

No luck here, not a lot of cars don‘t go to vienna. Cars did not even slow down. I‘ll move to fischamed and try there

Tough spot, a lot of heavy vehicles but no intensive to offer a ride. Can be hard to find a good spot. At the end I hung around the gas station. I had no luck with standing near the exit or in the town. After all got a ride to Wien.

Cars can‘t really stop here, took a few minutes to short ride

Not much to the north (Vienna) / talked to a few people but most were going south. After 1h I got a ride

The cars don't have a perfect opportunity to stop but with the drive threw beeing directly beside the chance of finding somebody driving to Vienna/Linz is high

Undoubtedly a good spot to go to Austria or Ljubljana, as the first four cars that stopped were going to one of these. The is the bus stop for Jesenice hospital, and surprisingly most of the cars that stopped were the ones coming from the hospital road, not the traffic lights. Eventually, Danno gave me a lift to Mojstrana, dropping me right at the front door of my hostel, and giving me some wonderful hiking recommendations whilst I was there! (Notably, Slap Peričnik in the winter!!)

A lot of people from Slovenia work in Austria. We (2) asked a guy with a Slovenian license plate and took us directly to gas station next to Maribor which was good spot for our next ride to Ljubljana.

Not so frequent gas station, but last in Slovakia in a way to Austria/Hungary. We (couple) spent some time here and asking people directly and also with sign to Vienna/Graz, but we didn’t manage it to Graz that day.

This place broke me, almost everything local traffic. I got lucky after two hours a desperately wawed to Czech car, and it stopped, but it was a pain in the ass. Find a different spot. Also Sundays in Austria suck.

mostly to Austria. spacious lane to stop at. just wait until your lovely vienna ride. I went to the border cause i wanted to stroll.

I actually had little hope for this place, because the fuel station looks very old and gets little traffic, but if you stay BEFORE it and hold the sign/thumb as much visible as possible, your ride will stop and get you to Austria. Would recommend, but it is firther than a shopping mall 3.6km before (to the north)

Traffic here is pure dogshit. If you are brought here and willing to go to South (Austria) ask to drop you further at "obchodni centrum futurum" (7 km along E50 and to the right). I've never went over 60 minutes in my career, but this place is smth.

I wasted a lot of time looking for a direct ride to austria, so stay with BRNO and there change to an international traffic. to get everyone(gas station, mcdonalds drive through and dine in), stay at the Exit to highway. good luck.

Typical highway station and rest place. Mostly trucks taking obligatory breaks. With some patience you can easily get at least to Ljubljana, with some Celje/Maribor or even Austria or Hungary

Great if you're going to Austria (either Innsbruck or Salzburg), many different gas station options to ask around

Great spot if you're going to Munich or South to Austria. Germans stop here to buy the Austrian Highway Vignette so you can easily talk to them

Good if you're going to Munich or Nürnberg. We first tried to get to Regensburg but no luck so eventually we settled on Munich. If you're going to Austria like us, it might be easier to get through Munich and Salzburg than to try and cut across

It seems to be great for Czech and Austria, but actually there are a lot of cars going S1 not A1, highly recommended to make a sign with direction. I waited there almost two hours, but after that I was taken by truck driver going to Slovenia. We managed to get to Brno in his driving time limit.

Good spot but not much cars, been lucky to have someone that went to Austria, let me to my destination on the A35

One driver from austria took me to Graz. I waited for less than 5 minutes. It is a bit tricky for a car to stop, but the red light takes ages to change.

We were lucky to have met a guy from graz (big communist city in Austria) with a big van, where three of us could fit. He even took a slightly different route then he planned to get us to our goal. Apart from that, the village soboth meets at 6pm to empty their garbage, next to the gas station. Loads of people comming over, but they all live around the area, thats why they dont take u nowhere. Loads of bikers drive that road too. The cows are very friendly and curious at that sopt

A lot of traffic, mostly - but not only - cars from Germany, Austria, but also Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia. However! Germans won't take you, so it is better not to waste time with them...

I went north and it was very easy to find a ride that takes you north on the highway, many tourists that go to germany, slowenia or austria
