Not a good spot, mainly because the locals rarely take hitchhikers.

Not the best spot to get out of Vienna in my opinion, but it's okay. Drivers seem not to like to stop here.

there were a lot of cars and we have caught a car without a lot of effort but it might’ve been because of ending may’s break

after about 30 mins a guy going into the McDonalds said he was going to Greece and could drop me off in Bolzano… twenty minutes later he came out saying he had just gotten a call that he needed to go back to Munich! I was absolutely devastated but just a few minutes later a trucker saved me and dropped me in Bolzano

Cars go pretty quickly here but the left lane isn’t used that often (because it’s an exit from the parking lot/entryway to the gas station) so technically there is a place for cars to stop, but not everyone will as it’s kinda risky. We stood with a sign and found a ride to Bratislava after 5 mins.

Good traffic direction Graz, good visibility, place to stop.

People stop, but nobody going further than a few km, not even to the 72 (bigger road). Finally somebody went out of their way to bring me to Albertsdorf

Big bus station. There's quite some space to stop, from here most of the cars go a bit further all the way to Weiz.

There are many was for cars to get through the station so it's hard to keep track of all. I chose the last exit of this roundabout, as there is a sign saying Wien. I also had a cardboard sign saying Wien.

Fast traffic, but if you stand at the very beginning of the possible stop area, cars should have enough space to slow down and pull over. Sign: "L" (as Linz)

Quite lucky ride, it's possible to walk a bit and hitch at the same time. On Sunday afternoon, many cars were going out of St. Wolfgang in different directions. (Tourists)

There's only one road around the lake. This spot is reasonable. There's space to pull over and also traffic isn't too fast yet.

Fine spot, the only downside is that people go way too fast. But also they have plenty of time to notice you. Sooo 6 7 xD

We got there on Saturday around 6 p.m. Two hours later, only a few cars had arrived. The drivers said they were heading to Austria/Slovenia. It was dark after 8 p.m., so we went to pitch our tent (you have to climb the hill at the station; it's very safe there). In the morning, we hitchhiked in about an hour, but traffic was a bit heavier. You can charge your phone at the point! I stayed there because I knew it could be worse at the border. was okay. I started very early and the station was still quiet empty. I stood in front of the pertrolstation entrance with a sign saying Austria and Budapest and talked to people as well. Long time waiting what so ever

Some guy stopped the minute I put my thumb up but wasn't in my direction. Had a sign for Austria. A woman stopped 18 min later and took me to spittal

Undoubtedly a good spot to go to Austria or Ljubljana, as the first four cars that stopped were going to one of these. The is the bus stop for Jesenice hospital, and surprisingly most of the cars that stopped were the ones coming from the hospital road, not the traffic lights. Eventually, Danno gave me a lift to Mojstrana, dropping me right at the front door of my hostel, and giving me some wonderful hiking recommendations whilst I was there! (Notably, Slap Peričnik in the winter!!)

A lot of people from Slovenia work in Austria. We (2) asked a guy with a Slovenian license plate and took us directly to gas station next to Maribor which was good spot for our next ride to Ljubljana.

Not so frequent gas station, but last in Slovakia in a way to Austria/Hungary. We (couple) spent some time here and asking people directly and also with sign to Vienna/Graz, but we didn’t manage it to Graz that day.

This place broke me, almost everything local traffic. I got lucky after two hours a desperately wawed to Czech car, and it stopped, but it was a pain in the ass. Find a different spot. Also Sundays in Austria suck.

mostly to Austria. spacious lane to stop at. just wait until your lovely vienna ride. I went to the border cause i wanted to stroll.

I actually had little hope for this place, because the fuel station looks very old and gets little traffic, but if you stay BEFORE it and hold the sign/thumb as much visible as possible, your ride will stop and get you to Austria. Would recommend, but it is firther than a shopping mall 3.6km before (to the north)

Traffic here is pure dogshit. If you are brought here and willing to go to South (Austria) ask to drop you further at "obchodni centrum futurum" (7 km along E50 and to the right). I've never went over 60 minutes in my career, but this place is smth.

I wasted a lot of time looking for a direct ride to austria, so stay with BRNO and there change to an international traffic. to get everyone(gas station, mcdonalds drive through and dine in), stay at the Exit to highway. good luck.

Typical highway station and rest place. Mostly trucks taking obligatory breaks. With some patience you can easily get at least to Ljubljana, with some Celje/Maribor or even Austria or Hungary

Great if you're going to Austria (either Innsbruck or Salzburg), many different gas station options to ask around

Great spot if you're going to Munich or South to Austria. Germans stop here to buy the Austrian Highway Vignette so you can easily talk to them

Good if you're going to Munich or Nürnberg. We first tried to get to Regensburg but no luck so eventually we settled on Munich. If you're going to Austria like us, it might be easier to get through Munich and Salzburg than to try and cut across

It seems to be great for Czech and Austria, but actually there are a lot of cars going S1 not A1, highly recommended to make a sign with direction. I waited there almost two hours, but after that I was taken by truck driver going to Slovenia. We managed to get to Brno in his driving time limit.

Good spot but not much cars, been lucky to have someone that went to Austria, let me to my destination on the A35

One driver from austria took me to Graz. I waited for less than 5 minutes. It is a bit tricky for a car to stop, but the red light takes ages to change.
