A great location with easy access to Innsbruck

Tried again to find a ride after I failed on the previous two points. If some one actually have a car mostly he has his family or dog. So no place. Since Villach is near Italy alot of cars come her and work here. So trying to communicate with some one with Italian plate always failed. I asked around 15 persons. My last plan was to take a flixbus to Udine €17 or Venice €23. Luckily some one gave me ride to next village on the highway. He said there are highr chances for you there.

Alot of cars but no one stopped. I made sure that the spot has a bus stop lane after in case they offer a ride.

Waited there for 40 muints. From 9:20 till 10:00 Can't decide if it good or not. But alot of cars with Italian plates. But the sign that they live here.

A good spot in theory, we were 2 and had pretty bad luck going south, a Slovenian guy going to Ljubjana took us to Lesce.

A Hungarian couple took us to Salzburg after asking them at the gas station.

Many people from Kufstein that go to Innsbruck come through here. Good place to stop. I'd recommend to go to the roundabout, Cara drive slow there, and you are very close to them. Many people stopped, but it took a while for someone that wanted to go to Innsbruck.

If you are in Kufstein and want to go south/west this a good spot.any people stopped, but sadly non who took me to innsbruck. Instead someone took me closer to the Autobahn. Not sure if this was a better spot though. I marked it as well.

Lots of traffic in all directions, perfect spot. I had cars stopping every 10 minutes or so, but rejected a lot of rides that weren't going far.

i was sitting here and there with a sign in the middle of the night just to experiment, got a ride in west direction, which was expected. sign saying "DE"

I think this spot is better to go north. People are done with being confused about directions, and ready to get on the road. If you want to talk to people do go to the other side

Not bad! Cars go slow and the on ramp is quite wide, enough for a car to stop and others pass it. Had a sign DE, also possible to go south from here.

There's not a good place to stop here, but people will eventually. I think the best is the red light. I got tired of waiting for a ride towards DE/Linz, so decided to take an offer to Gratkorn and try my luck there. Surprise! It was better there.

This is THE spot to leave Vienna (mainly to the south). lot of cars n We got a ride within 30 minutes to Graz

very good place to hitchhike. unfortunately we were probably unlucky and the hitchhiking took a longer time and we didn't get a long ride

Not a lot of traffic. We stood in front of the ramp because there wasn't enough room on the ramp itself. Most cars were driving short distances in many directions.

Took me 20 min to get a ride to Graz. It's a chill spot, i waited just before the bridge.

We were stuck for hours at a previous gas station, and we successfully arrived to this station that is better. A lot of people will pass and be polite and smiling. We were super tired and we just waited sitting at the exit of the parking with a sign "Wien" in front of us, and a really nice man going to Bratislava took us and let us in the ring road of Wien. Be patient.

Maybe one of the best place to hitchhike to Czechia or Poland. A lot of the car are polish. Also lot of family with full cars so you have to be patient. We waited with a sign "Poland" and an Italian family with a camping car took us directly to Gliwice, they were going to Warszawa and we were going to Krakow.

Can confirm that this is OK spot for Austria, but still most people just went to České Budějovice. Recommend to stand at the exit and use the sign, since some cars are just passing through.

Medium tradic going mostly to České Budějovice, sometimes South (Austria, Linz). Also truckers behind the gas station.

Nice spot. A lot of tourists are passing by slowly. After 10 minutes, a local couple with a campervan picked me up and took me in the direction of Austria.

2 hours, a lot of cars going to austria, cz, poland. most of them are families with no space to take you or not interested in general. the gas station is nice and clean and you can stay in your tent during the night.

only cars to budapest. do this: get to gas station as close to budapest, but before the turn to austria/slovakia and continue there. worked for me.

Not a spot to go towards north cuz all the cars are going to Italy. take the spot at the north of the city to go to Austria

worse spot in the world in July since all cars are packed to the brill. Waited 3 hours with AUSTRIA sign and no one stopped. Tried to ask trucks drivers but no luck. took small routes instead

A good spot for heading to western Austria; benches, toilets, and water are available. There were two of us, and we arrived around 4 p.m. Arriving a bit earlier would probably be better for finding a ride. (You don't need a sign.)

(Two people 26F + 49M) Some local people gave us advice to look for a trip towards Romania from here, because cars with Hungarian and Rumanian licence plates often take breaks on the parking lot. Many also come back from Austria for holiday with Austrian licensed plates and sometimes they are just taking cars to sell them in Hungary or Romania. There were plenty of people hanging out in groups but cars tend to be full. Of course you can also ask at the service station. In our case it gave up a rather short lift to an even better spot at the Austrian/Hungarian border. So if you want to go into Hungary and get a lift to Hegyeshalom take it and have yourself dropped off at the VIGNETTE station, where people pay for the highway toll.

Two guys heading north, had a sign saying Austria/Germany. Asked people outside the shop and eventually got a lift to Munich.

This is not really a good spot as most people are just coming to Brno. To go to Slovakia/Austria it might be better to head for gas stations on respective roads. After around 20 minutes of asking around a guy offered to take us all the way to Szombathely (Hungary).

Honestly shocked that others say that this spot is shit for Budapest and good for Vienna — I had exactly the opposite experience hitchhiking to Austria! Three hours waiting with a sign for ‘Graz’ (I was on my way to Zagreb), and the only offer in that direction that I got was to a town just over the border. Yet three people stopped to ask if going to Budapest would help, and two more people stopped to apologize that they were going to Budapest! I had banked on people going to Vienna making the connection that Vienna is on the way to Graz, but as hour three closed I made a sign for Vienna, and it was STILL another hour. There is no shade at the on-ramp and it gets hot. The traffic is a steady trickle but honestly not that much. I would try another spot next time, no question. Lots of space in the surrounding area to camp unseen, though, if this spot does serve you. I walked here from the end of the tram line at night to cross the highway with less traffic and start early (not that the early start helped!), and was at least well rested for the frustration.

There passes enough cars. Asked some people but not many wanted to take us or didn’t go far, but a really friendly couple of the Netherlands took us to Rothenburg Germany and took us the next day again to Linz Austria, they even bought us food and gave 20 euros
