It's the bus 114 and it's a very bad spot if you want to go to Georgia, very few people use this road to go to Georgia nowadays, M2 highway is the best option.―Nadjib, September 2016

Can be a good place to get a ride to Gandja and even Baku, many trucks going to those cities pass through this road, I had to wait for 2 hours to get a ride to Baku. expect lot of taxis, ask if it's free before getting in the car.―Anonymous, September 2016

Yeni Ceyranbatan (New Ceyranbatan)- reasonable spot to HH north (ex. Quba). Go to 20th January metro station and ask locals for buses to this village, it is on the road to Sumgait. It costs aproximately 50 kapik (2015). About 100m before junction with express road there is not very bad place to stop cars. No point walking and looking for bus stop. Waiting time very good but what decreases "hitchability" is not perfect place to stop cars.―Anonymous, March 2015

Not much traffic (cars) in the direction of Laza. A couple of kilometers before Laza there's a big construction side (2012), so some trucks shuttle between Qusar and there. To get out of Qusar it's a long and sweaty walk (45 minutes).―Anonymous, July 2014

If you are going to take a ship from Baku to Turkmenistan or to Kazakhstan, you can go to the port early and try to talk to one of the Turkish, Georgian or Azeri truck drivers. They can show you as a driver on paper and you can save 100$.―Anonymous, April 2014

Cross the border on foot and walk for a few minutes to avoid the area where taxis wait. Here is a nice road going towards Baku. If you are lucky, you may find a direct ride. Try to explain beforehand that you are hitchhiking and not going to pay for the ride.―Anonymous, March 2014

Near the entrance of the sea port, there is a tiny cafe run by a woman named "Asia". It's the waiting place for all truck drivers coming from Azerbaijan by ferry and most of them are Turkish and Georgian, so speaking Turkish or Russian helps a lot. Ask these gentlemen nicely and you may find a direct ride all the way to Almaty. It will take you around 4 days however.―Anonymous, March 2014

This spot is great to find rides inbound Tbilisi and further; plenty of space for both cars and trucks to stop and all the traffic passes by this point. I got a first class ride from here from a driver headed to Baku, Azerbaijan. If You have questions please use the "Contact Me" section on my website www.claudioadrianodobre.com to get in touch with me. Hit the road hard ;)―Longhaul, June 2013
