Ĉielarko alproksimiĝis al sia fino kaj mi volis iri al la "Tramprennem" konkurso, do mi veturigis min ĉe la elirejo de la parkejo Ĉielarko, ĉar homoj foriris la tutan tempon. Kaj ili lasis min ĉe la trako. Dankon, familio, Mi ĉiam memoros ĉi tion, kaj ankaŭ kiel mi maltrafis la laborrenkontiĝon de sinjoro, kiu petveturis dum 50 jaroj... kiel mi povus esti maltrafinta ĉi tion?

La knaboj komencis iri ĉirkaŭ la strato, demandante ĉiun preterpasanton ĉu ili ne iras en tiu direkto. Kaj de tie, la onklino de unu el la knaboj, kiu donis al mi veturado per biciklo, lasis min ĉe Ĉielarko. Dankon al ĉiuj multege. El la fundo de mia koro. Miaj kelkaj tagoj ĉe Ĉielarko estis nekredeblaj.

Post eniro en Luksemburgion la antaŭan tagon kaj dormo en la arbustoj aliflanke de la benzinstacio Esso Remerschen, proksime al la akvopurigejo (tre bona por la reto), mi prenis senpagan buson al Bastogne, ĉar estis mia kvara tago survoje kaj mi jam estis laca. En Bastogne, mi trovis buson por 5 eŭroj al Marche-en-Fammene. Mi eliris ĉe la enirejo de Lignières kaj komencis petveturi; kvar infanoj veturigis min per siaj bicikloj ĝis punkto pli antaŭen.

Spot alright, rather quiet though on a Thursday morning. I had a sign saying Mons, France and asked the people that were there. In the end an older lady stopped and brought me to a petrol station about 100 km before Paris.

Mi uzis la ŝildon por Prüm post manĝado de kelkaj prunoj laŭ la vojo, kaj liveristo kondukis min al la rando de la urbo por ke mi povu daŭre mallongigi mian itineron al Zittau.

Mi jam uzis la ŝildon indikantan la Aŭtovojon; knabino kun multaj dolĉaĵoj en sia aŭto lasis min tien, simpatia persono. Ni havis plurajn interesajn konversaciojn.

De tie mi komencis skribi kelkajn ŝildojn por gvidi min. Ulo en plibonigita aŭto veturigis min, kurbiĝante je 100 km/h. Multe da amuzo.

Vere simpatia familio veturigis min; petveturado funkciis bone, mi kredas ke la ĉemizo de la brazila nacia teamo de la Futbala Mondpokalo de 2002 (kiun mi poste lasis en Japanio) sufiĉis.

Mia celo estis atingi Zittau en Germanio por la Tramprennen 2025, kaj mi devis fari tion en 2, eble maksimume 3 tagoj. Mi ne provis petveturi longajn distancojn nuntempe, ĉar plej multaj homoj sur ĉi tiuj vojoj iras tre proksime ĉiuokaze. Mi nur volis rapide atingi pli grandan vojon por koncentriĝi pri la distanco. Ĉe ĉi tiu punkto, mi pensas, ke estas pli bone iri iom pli foren, kie estas niĉo antaŭ la vojo sen ŝultrovojo.

La plej logika afero farenda estus resti ĉe la ĉefa intersekciĝo, sed ĉar mi sciis, ke multaj homoj ankoraŭ forlasos Rainbow kaj certe rekonos min, mi iris iom pli antaŭen, preter la ponto, kie iu ajn aŭto de iu ajn Rainbow kondukilo iranta al La Roche povus min preni, sed la persono, kiu min prenis, estis hazarda ulo, kiu nur preterpasis. Vere simpatia ulo. Mi ankoraŭ bedaŭras, ke mi maltrafis laborrenkontiĝan pri petveturado de iu, kiu asertis havi 50 jarojn da sperto.

Much less traffic than at Jabbeke. Found a couple of UK plates though. One was willing to take us through the eurotunnel to Surrey

Definitely the best spot to get to England from. I even found another hitchhiker making the same trip. There were a good few UK plates that passed by. Unfortunately they couldn’t or wouldn’t take us. After a while waiting we took a lift to the next services, against all better advice

Same story. Not the best spot for a lift onward. I had a bloke stop and give me a lift to the road that led toward Oostende

Not an easy spot for cars to stop without holding up traffic. Found a lift to a good petrol station on the other side of Brussels quite quickly though

Hitched from the Eastbound shell. Took only a short time for a lift to Köln. Our driver was kind enough to drop us at the front door of our friends house

It’s definitely worth asking around the ferry. We looked for small groups of people seeing if they’re heading to Belgium or even Lille. Eventually found a lift to Ghent!

A long wait. There’s lots of EU number plates and truckers. A couple offers to Folkestone, a couple apologetic “we would if we had space”. Eventually we found a lift to Belgium. Unfortunately our lift would not add us to her ticket and offered to continue the lift after we had made our own way to Calais. Foot passenger ferries only come three times a day and our arrivals would not align. We got dropped at Dover

This place is counterintuitive, or I just got lucky, but I was exhausted and in a not-so-great mood, so I desperately wanted to get out of Germany. So I got a sign saying BE, and it took just a couple of minutes to get a ride to the small town of Kelmis in Belgium.

banger, i find this one reliable to go far into france direction reims. heading northwest, don't bother taking rides shorter than aire du haut-koenigsbourg. there's plenty of ppl going long distances, especially luxembourg/belgium. also loads of german cars.

Easy ride out to A1 toward north and Belgium , some traffic and trafic light for cars to stop. Picked up in 20 with a cardboard that said A1. Should be easy to get north once you are on a highway stop

nice gas station! At the dressing there are tables where you can eat and relax and if you stop in the summer can even sleep! We were thrown here at about 6 pm and by night we could not find the car, although we went to ask almost everyone, although in the morning (from 6 to 7) we were found to Dyorthmund. Most cars went to Amsterdam, some to Belgium. This is a good spot because everyone goes somewhere far away from Hanover's license plates. In general, the drivers of cars and trucks rest in the parking lot, many people can be asked

Best spot to go North from paris, a lot of Belgium cars and people going to Lille.

Ok, this was not great spot south, if you are heading south I would discourage you from going here, but it was kinda nice spot towards Belgium. Be aware a lot of migrants are lurking around after dark, we had two of them jump on top of our truck and drove them to Belgium (they were not happy about that and banged on our roof). It was definitely one of my crazier stories, but it was kinda fun. Just to be aware of that. (Normally I would sleep around here, but I would never sleep in this place, it was not safe, therefore I went back north to Belgium)

BAD SPOT TO GO TO KÖLN. Was unlucky because nobody went there but very lucky to have a guy that dropped me to my final destination in Belgium. Thanks Dariusz! :) asked around

I was desperate because it was really cold and windy and rainy. Like the worst weather ever to hitchhike. I asked a bit around with no success but still had ok feedbacks. Kicked out of the MacDonald (fair enough) decided to use thumb and sign "A4 West" and got a lift to Francfort. In my case I will be dropped at the gas station Reinhardshain Nord to go to Köln and Belgium. Thanks Heike!

Good space to pull in, many cars. We found a lovely guy going to Belgium after just about 5 minutes.

Approached someone and immediately got a ride to Belgium. This seems like the best way to get from Koln to the west. Highly recommended!

May favourite starting spot to get out of the area to the Netherlands/Belgium/France. So far has worked out for me fairly quickly every single time. This review is super late, but I was there in May in the afternoon and found folks going my direction in half an hour by asking around. It only took half an hour because they wanted to finish their meal (which, totally fair.) I think the finding itself only took about 10 minutes.

Bike path on the road, not much traffic going in direction of Belgium. Most people seem to scared to stop on the bike path or are too fast.

Tried to get out of Calais in direction of Belgium here, waited almost the whole day here till we gave up.

I got very lucky with an amazing ride with a nice Spanish couple going on holiday. I went up and asked the guy if he was going towards Belgium and if I could go with him. We even had a shot of vodka to say goodbye. M23

Tried to get from here to Belgium as I've heard of people being stranded further down at Folkestone/Dover. Am aware that channel crossings are challenging so I won't let my ambitious targets hurt the rating of this spot. Was offered a ride once every hour but none of them were to Belgium or even across the channel. 5 hours in I decided any car that could take me further along the M20 would work, and got a ride to Dover 5 minutes later. I put an extra pin here as this spot worked much better than the spot near the gas station. Cars are forced to slow down, they have time to access you, and you can sit on the rocks to put yourself on the same eye level as them.
