Roundabout just before joining E411, space to pullover and lots of cars. I didn't have great luck but the spots not bad!

Tiny petrol station with not much traffic and cars going too fast to really stop even though it is possible to pullover. I did get a rode but it's not a great spot

Wasn't that busy on a Friday late morning/early afternoon but lots of cars stopped for me, just all going only a short distance. Nobody for Brussels, but maybe just bad luck. Eventually took a ride to Lovaine LA neuve to go to the herge museum but it's closed 😬

This highway entrance has been moved a few hundred meters further.

I haven't hitchhiked here (yet), but on this newly built highway entrance, cars drive slowly and have enough space to pullover. Directions Eindhoven, Ruhr Area, Aachen, Liège, Brussels, Ghent...

I was with my brother trying to go to Namur and we changed after 1 hour

on weekend midday the entire shoulder was full with parked trucks, I still managed to get a lift pretty quickly but I feel like that might've been luck that they were willing to stop on the road (there was still space for passing cars but still), without trucks this seems like the perfect place though yous are all right

was just chatting to someone with a full car when someone else asked me if I want a lift and then brought me to Antwerpen, seemed pretty busy on a weekend

not the greatest spot towards Antwerpen but I got a lift to a rest stop and that was great, there's a fair bit of space to pull in, people can see you pretty well but I think most people going through here might not be going onto the motorway

got a really nice lift really quickly to Gent, plenty of space to stop, good traffic on a morning

A hitchhiker has been caught here by Google Streetview in August '25 with a sign RTM. R'dam is more common for Rotterdam.

Hitchhiked here many times towards Ghent, France or the seaside. Cars drive slowly and can easily pullover on the hard shoulders. Waited mostly 5 tot 10 minutes.

Asked a first guy and got.a ride to Maastricht!

Stood with Lutych sign behind the roundabout. Lot of local traffic. Maybe the other direction is better. Anyway got a ride to Sant Vith and then continued on the highway.

Not a very busy spot. Further than Breda is wishful thinking.

More Belgian than Dutch cars. As we passed by the parking lot a few km's further, In thought that's probably a better spot for longer distances as there were many cars

People were nice but no one really wanted to take us. At some point we were lucky to find someone who was on his way to the airport. He was so nice to drive a bit further to „Aire de Vémars Est“ from where you find maaanyyy cars that go to belgium and the netherlands :)

Before the recording of Lubach starts, the 250-person audience is allowed to ask questions. So, I asked for a ride towards Belgium and got one to a gas station near Utrecht. There were also people who offered a ride further, but I couldn't find them in the crowd.

Good spot to head west out of Halle. Good traffic and a bit of space for cars to pull over. Was waiting for about 10 minutes with a sign for Kassel, but given that I just wanted to go in the direction of Belgium, I decided to take a ride all the way to Frankfurt.

Got drop of here. Not that good place. There is small traffic. But I got lucky and some good spontanisu people from belgium made a trip for me. Btw asiking around is your only option here and it is easyer to go to denmark then north

Good for rides to Frankfurt, Belgium and Netherlands, we could stop drivers going both from the gas station and mcdonalds, theres also a lot of people just resting and truck drivers. We waited for a long time tho.

Maidstone...the chaos. As you may well know, it's two sides for traffic with a lot that is local. I chose this spot as cars can pull into the petrol station afterwards. Asking cars is a possibility at the restaurant but it's too overwhelming for me...far too many, with a bunch of rude Brits :-) I've done this dozens of times and never really know the best tactic. I actually prefer Clacket Lane on the M25 if I'm alone as there's a lot of trucks/ vans...but I ended up going from there to here. Hot day. Finally a Belg car stopped and once on theptorwat announced they were returning their rented car and taking the foot passenger across. Curses. I broke my hitch to pay for the ticket - they had a friend taking them back to Belgium on the other side and I could continue with. Not too bad...but £30 is still £30 and I was tempted to remain in Dover. Still, energy preservation and knowing I was in at least Belgium by night, and the grape harvest waiting for me in a few days that would pay it back. Maidstone is the spot in UK to go across...but you could be waiting several hours. I looked at the way coming into Dover and think there are some possibilities at the begining...but you should see with time how you're doing and of course you can't speak to most people like that. Heading to the UK. Had a sign saying Belgium. 3rd car I asked took me to Liège.

I definitely got lucky. The sports not bad at all but idk about traffic. First car got me. I originally got picked up at Maidstone by some Belgium guys, they said they were heading across but when we got into Dover they mentioned it was 9pm that night. I jumped out and thanked them but realised I either had to go back up the m20 and find someone going for the tunnel, or I was kinda screwed. This guy just happened to be really eccentric and scooped me up IF YOU WANT THE TUNNEL MAKE SURE YOUR RIDE FROM MAIDSTONE CAN GET YOU THROUGH

Got a direct ride to Paris a lot of people going up north to Belgium and Netherlands

Got dropped here and went round asking the drivers if they were taking the ferry, with a sign saying France/Belgium. On my second round one agreed to take me with him to Belgium. He was going with Irish ferries and it was no problem to add a passenger, no-one even asked about it. He drove me until 2am, let me sleep in the van, then took me to a further junction the next morning.

I think I got big luck. I was dropped but my previous car when a couple of Belgium came to me asking me where I was heading. There didn't seem to be a lot of traffic at that moment of the day.

asked a lot of trucks and cars. many go to germany and belgium, but didn't want to take me. hungary is easier

lucky dude got an offer to Belgium, that i could only wish for. at leuseni i spent 4 hours asking cars for any ride to central/western europe, but nothing worked. some truck drivers told me that I should have went to Iasi checkpoint.

surprisingly disappointing, maybe the A6 is better. free restroom and cheap baguette. found two guys from belgium who went to alpe d‘huez too.

I waited long, but think i was unlucky. Loads of traffic to belgium and france, very little to where i actually wanted to go: netherlands...

Couple hitchhiking. We caught a ride with a wonderful Ukrainian truck driver to northern France with a sign saying Belgium. Many families with very little space in their cars and many heading to Achen. Bit tiresome.

We got a lift from the ticket booth to the ferry and then asked a couple where they were heading once we started sailing. Luckily, they were heading to Belgium and took us to Bremen.

Two guys heading to Belgium, had a sign saying Nürnberg / Frankfurt. Took a while, tried standing by the exit and asking people as they arrived. Eventually found a Belgien car driving to Ghent, the guy let us stay in his cousin's apartment overnight then took us the rest of the way the next morning.
