Lots of people going different ways (Germany, Netherlands) and far away. The did not always have enough space but a guy that went to Berlin took us in less than 30 minutes.

Lots of people going to Brussel or leave the highway but since there really was a lot of people we were taken to Liège in less than 20 minutes

Great spot on a Friday morning, a lot of movement

Lots of cars pass by but nobody takes me, I have signs for Charleroi/Bruxelles as well as a sign that I just want to access the highway in that direction. Not one person.

Difficult spot to get out of the city, but would not know any other that is better for direction Antwerp --> Netherlands. I got a hitch to the first rest stop on the E19.

Not super busy but got a ride to the next big petrol station quite quickly

Stood there for about 20 minutes. Many people heading to the Netherlands but often with packed cars. Saw someone I knew at the petrol station who gave me a ride to Rotterdam.

I hitchhike a lot here and I never have to wait that long BUT ONLY IF I STAND HERE, further tho the centrum no one picks u up

Quietist but still decent traffic flow. Space to pullover on shoulder. Rejected 1 ride going 2km. Then got ride direct to Machen with some germans. Lots of dutch and german plates. My drivers spoke English and german. Solid spot

Biiiiiiig layby right after roundabout. Ride north to St vith which has a junction. Lots of dutch plates. Acess using free public transport in Luxembourg. Trois vierges has a station, and bus 174 goes to this junction. Lots of forest nearby, camping potential. 20 mins, thumb only, bearded man. Drivers spoke English, french and German.

Extremely busy gas station. We were two dudes who looked very tired, unshaven, got a ride from a woman alone in her car.

perfect spot to go towards Luxembourg/France from Liège. We waited only 5min for a ride to a rest area :))

Many cars. Wanted to go to Koln. Found an old couple of french, very kind, who drop us of directly to Hannover. 2 men on saturday afternoon.

Wanted to go Germany, but a kind guy offered us to pickup us up to another spot. Not a lot of cars here, during lunch time on saturday. We were 2 men.

Great spot to go to the highway A40. There was a emergency lane where the cars Can safely stop. We had a sign A40 and a teacher took us (2 people and a dog+2backpacks) to the nearest big gas station on the A40. We are heading to Aachen…….

Great spot to go to Liege and direction Germany. A man and his girlfriend took us (me my girlfriend and out dog+2 backpacks) to Liege!!

Very good spot to go to Brusel. Even me and my girlfriend+our dog and 2big backpacks got a ride to Brusel. Good spot to ask people around wit a sign.

A really good spot to get to France or Belgium

Lots of folks. Got offered a ride pretty quickly to Hasselt, which was halfway to the French Ardennes we were heading to. Still rejected it, gotta stay on that main highway. As always when here, we considered accepting a ride to Eindhoven Airport to luck into a ride to Belgium there. One day we’ll try it!

In this Dutch colony you will find some cars staying in Germany and a few cars going to Belgium.

Saturday in April, either the A8 or A9 was good for my route to Belgium. Most cars were full or drove into Munich. Eventually, a business man took me in direction of Ulm.

Just arrived and we found a car with 2 belgium women. Really kind of her. Pick us up directly to liege. Definetely a very good spot.

Fabulous spot for going towards UK, Belgium, Paris. One of my favourite petrol stations in Europe.

Good spot for Belgium or the Netherlands. Takes a second to find a ride but it makes sense to wait for a longer distance ride that takes you well in the direction you want to take.

Very quick wait. Maybe I was just lucky but happened to find lots of former hitchhikers through Belgium. My lift was going to Oostende but kindly took a detour to drop me in Bruges

It’s definitely worth asking around the ferry. We looked for small groups of people seeing if they’re heading to Belgium or even Lille. Eventually found a lift to Ghent!

A long wait. There’s lots of EU number plates and truckers. A couple offers to Folkestone, a couple apologetic “we would if we had space”. Eventually we found a lift to Belgium. Unfortunately our lift would not add us to her ticket and offered to continue the lift after we had made our own way to Calais. Foot passenger ferries only come three times a day and our arrivals would not align. We got dropped at Dover

This place is counterintuitive, or I just got lucky, but I was exhausted and in a not-so-great mood, so I desperately wanted to get out of Germany. So I got a sign saying BE, and it took just a couple of minutes to get a ride to the small town of Kelmis in Belgium.

banger, i find this one reliable to go far into france direction reims. heading northwest, don't bother taking rides shorter than aire du haut-koenigsbourg. there's plenty of ppl going long distances, especially luxembourg/belgium. also loads of german cars.

Easy ride out to A1 toward north and Belgium , some traffic and trafic light for cars to stop. Picked up in 20 with a cardboard that said A1. Should be easy to get north once you are on a highway stop

nice gas station! At the dressing there are tables where you can eat and relax and if you stop in the summer can even sleep! We were thrown here at about 6 pm and by night we could not find the car, although we went to ask almost everyone, although in the morning (from 6 to 7) we were found to Dyorthmund. Most cars went to Amsterdam, some to Belgium. This is a good spot because everyone goes somewhere far away from Hanover's license plates. Best spot to go North from paris, a lot of Belgium cars and people going to Lille.

Ok, this was not great spot south, if you are heading south I would discourage you from going here, but it was kinda nice spot towards Belgium. Be aware a lot of migrants are lurking around after dark, we had two of them jump on top of our truck and drove them to Belgium (they were not happy about that and banged on our roof). It was definitely one of my crazier stories, but it was kinda fun. Just to be aware of that. (Normally I would sleep around here, but I would never sleep in this place, it was not safe, therefore I went back north to Belgium)

BAD SPOT TO GO TO KÖLN. Was unlucky because nobody went there but very lucky to have a guy that dropped me to my final destination in Belgium. Thanks Dariusz! :) asked around

I was desperate because it was really cold and windy and rainy. Like the worst weather ever to hitchhike. I asked a bit around with no success but still had ok feedbacks. Kicked out of the MacDonald (fair enough) decided to use thumb and sign "A4 West" and got a lift to Francfort. In my case I will be dropped at the gas station Reinhardshain Nord to go to Köln and Belgium. Thanks Heike!

Good space to pull in, many cars. We found a lovely guy going to Belgium after just about 5 minutes.

Approached someone and immediately got a ride to Belgium. This seems like the best way to get from Koln to the west. Highly recommended!
