First car passing by stopped for me. Traffic is low in general, I was lucky I'd say. You also bypass the entrance fee of 100Bs as they don't stop private cars at the gate. (If they ever stop, I've not seen anyone there)rating: 5/5, wait: 5 min 👍, ride: 13 km ↖

We were not able to catch a ride here. Because of the political situation and a lack of petrol there was very few traffic. We were waiting over 4 hours and gave it up. 4 other locals tried to get a ride here too at the same time, so if you go hitchhiking, this might be the spot - direction Chilerating: 2/5, wait: 200 min 🪧

Around 4-5pm, there are the trucks full of vegetables going straight to Cochabamba. I hitched one, it´s a 9 hours adventure on the top of the truck with Quechua farmer. The driver didn´t want me to come because he said that it will be too tough for me. Just insist a little. Also think that you will travel at night, at 3400m, it can be really cold, every farmer has at least 8 cover on them.―Garept, June 2015

Toll at the end of the city. Every single car who go further than few km stop to pay the fee. Good time to ask.―Anonymous, June 2015

People are talking about this road by "km", just asked every open window at the traffic light which km they were going. Keep doing this until km 22 where the toll is.―Garept, June 2015

Looked like a good stop but we had such a hard time hitchhiking to the border with Bolivia (there were two of us, a guy and a girl). A beautiful green Volvo truck ended up stopping and taking us to the next town where we were stranded for three hours.rating: 3/5, wait: 60 min, ride: 86 km ↘
