traffic to Monastir is sparse. In the morning and early afternoon it is better with a couple of tourists usually going there. In the evening usually close to no one.

Wait before the bus stop, plenty space to stop and plenty of drivers go either to nikosia or girne

Just cross the border by walk and hitchhike the cars passing by car, except the famagusta old town tour theres nothing here so it was wuite a dissappitment

Wanted to go to famagusta and got a ride up to the border in deryneia

Cars turning to Larnaca are going very slowly, you really have a good chance to hitch to Larnaca. BUT there's no shade, no place to sit, so you're getting fried in the sun.

A very good spot for both ways Polis/Pafos.

Cars are often going to paphos. 2 persons hitchhiking, and a pickup with only 1 places free pickup us up. :-)

Not a perfect spot, but this is the only way from St. Hilarion junctino to Nicosia. There are place for cars to stop, but they are driving fast, so you must experiment with the exact location.

Walk past the "no pedestrian walking" sign. There's a space cars can stop 🛑. Better than standing in the traffic circle.

We stood just before the highway, behind the guard rail. Big sign saying no stopping / hitching. But... A car stopped before police we saw any police. There are tunnels to get around the roundabout without playing Frogger in the road. Hitch towards limmasol / larnaca / lefkosia (Nicosia) The roundabout is hard for someone to stop in. They could, maybe, but it'd be dangerous and no one seemed to stop there. Also, not great luck at the gas station 6min walk from there. If all else fails, there is a bus stop about 5min walk from the gas station with intercity busses going every hour or so. Between 4-8 euro, depending on which city.

Common to stand at bus stops. Just stick out your thumb. North to Kyrenia (Girne). It's a straight shot.

I just stuck out my thumb here, and it got me to central Larnaca in a few minutes. :) Love the locals!

Cyprus Lake road is forbidden to pedestrians, but park rangers encouraged me to hitchike and the third car picked me up (first two wanted to but we're full of camping gear)

Good point for Boat hitching. It is a crossing point between East Mediteranean and Turkey/Cyprus/Middle Orient Follow the signs : "Marina/λημανι" and you can ask for a ride to the sailor. You can wait some days depending on the period of the year
