Found a truck driver very quickly that brought me all the way to Hamburg! I was there somewhere in the afternoon on a weekday, I would say this is a great spot to be dropped at and find a ride

This rest stop looks very bad in theory, there’s not a lot of cars stopping there, but I was lucky to very quickly be taken close to the German border by a very nice German couple. I would say this is a good spot to be dropped at. I was there on a random weekday

I don’t remember exactly how long it took to find a ride to hitch, but it wasn’t very long! The Danish people are very nice when it comes to hitchhiking and I had a lovely time with the couple who took me almost to the German border

Ok spot. 4 cars stoped in 40 minutes but they were driving in wrong diretions. The last guy droves to the gas station in Karslunde

Not the safest, but it work I got4 car stopping in 15min but I was always just to got to the boarder. I end up taking one and i'll try again from there.

I don't think this spot is relevant anymore in 2025. There is nothing. Car are accelerating a lot. Just go on the previous spot i'd say.

Not a bad spot, I hitched a Porsche all the way to the German border. Ask around, somebody will get you a ride.

The first car I approached took me all the way to Leipzig, look for German licence plates and they have Bundesrepublik on their plates.

Decent for going to Rødby. If you want a lift that goes all the way across the ferry, it might be worth it to try here instead of in Rødby since you can’t hitchhike close to the ferry

Roundabout, good spot to pull over, perfect for getting to Silkeborg. Driver said hitchhikers are (relatively) common in the area.

Quiete a good spot towards Denmark and Sweden, unfortunately I arrived at 5 pm at Buddikate Ost and until I gave up at 8 pm I want able to get a lift towards the ferry in Puttgarden, quiet soon after arriving at the petrol station though I met multiple truck driver who would head towards Sweden the next morning (I thought that I would be able to catch a ride that evening so I didn't paided sufficient attention to this). After sleeping in my tent I got up the next morning and was able to catch a ride after waiting for two hours

Perfect for Denmark, Hamburg, Lübeck and Puttgarden.

Solo female, at sunset/night. Not many cars, most of them going towards Denmark (should be quite easy that direction). I asked around with sign Kiel and ended up getting a lucky ride.

100% doable to hitchhike somebody taking the ferry to denmark, just stand a bit further than the roundabout in the direction of terminals. at the gate the driver just says one more person, they pay the same amount. on the ferry get out of the car and ask around for a ride or just enjoy and walk off via pedestrian gate, nobody checks once you're on. safe travels!

Big rest area with a petrol station, toilets, and options to camp. Good for getting a ride to Malmö or Denmark. At the petrol station you can charge your phone and sit.

Fantastic spot towards Denmark.

I guess not the best spot as other say, but we asked around and got ride to the better stop heading toward Denmark.

Many reviews saying that it should be really easy to get to Denmark. Surprisingly we didn't meet a lot of Danish cars there. After 30mins of asking around we met a guy going all the way to Netherlands. (He had a really small car though).

Probably a good spot if you stick with one plan. I constantly switched between asking cars that tanked and standing at the traffic light hoping someone would pick me up. In the end I got so desperate I even started asking the people that stopped at the red light and that’s how I got picked up to get into Denmark (7 to 8 am)

the only Gas station directly on the highway between Rostock and Greifswald. It serves both directions but there were more people for direction east. I was ther on a work day noon in winter. There was not super much trafic but some cars would still come. Most people were going to Poland or Stralsund. One person would be driving towards schwerin, one person to magdeburg. Few people were going to Rostock and on a ferry to Denmark. Only few people were going west. It took me 4 hours until a person agreed to take me to Lübeck. So all in all I´d recomend if you wanna go Stralsund or Poland. If you wanna go further west I'd recomend to get out on one of the parking areas on the highway or to hitch somewhere from rostock. this place sucks.

Great place to hitch toward Denmark. It is where tons of Danes go to shop groceries at cheaper German prices! Tons of Danes from all over.

Officisl hitchhiking spot. We tried going to Denmark/Flensborg with a sign that said Flensburg/Rendsburg and did not find a ride in one hour, so we changed route and went to Neumunster and changed side on the A7 at one of the exits

German couple who are going to Norway picked me up around the gas station entry. good place to go Denmark

I asked people if they are going direction Denmark. A lot of cars going that way. Had luck and found someone who took me all the way to Copenhagen. Recommend to switch here if you want to go further North.

Much traffic going north (Sweden, Denmark, Norway). I was going back to Norway, asked a Norwegian driver, but his car was full. Then after 10 minutes a girl with a small dog came to me and asked me "Hi, What is your story?". Hehe then she asked me if I had a driving licence and if I drank alcohol that day. So she was going to Gøteborg and then to Stockholm. She asked me if I would like to join her and help her driving to Copenhagen. So I became her driver that day and did it to Copenhagen. At that gas station you should even use "Oslo" sign :))) it is what I exactly did - I had 3 signs, i.e. Bremen, Hamburg, Oslo.

This gas station was perfect during the heavy rain. 40 mins only with a sign "Hamburg" and got a ride. The car was going far in Denmark but I got off at the gas station in Karlslunde.

Great place to go north to Kiel/Denmark! There is a place for cars to stop

Bus stop. Big pull over area but just around corner from roundabout. Not perfect but after 20 mins someone pulled over (but going wrong way), 15 later another one did who took me west to the sandy lighthouse thing!. There is a sign saying no pedestrians just beyond the bus stop, so you can't hitch further along the road. Busstop was quiet do no audience. Denmark, so of course everyone speaks english
