Sønderjysk konspirationsteoretiker denne gang. Folk holder typisk ind på svingbanen så det er lidt sketch men ok. Alternativt kan man få dem til at holde ved p-pladsen der ligger lige ved.

Roundabout, good spot to pull over, perfect for getting to Silkeborg. Driver said hitchhikers are (relatively) common in the area.

Good spot from getting from Himmelbjerget towards Silkeborg, though cars are a bit fast. Walk to the straight part of the road for better visibility.

I was standing right between the highway and the exit. A truck driver stopped briefly at the exit and gave me a ride. From my point of view, it was a very good spot, but it could also have been luck.

A guy and a girl on a Monday afternoon without a sign. This spot is good in theory : cars don't go that fast and there is place for them at the bus stop. We got a ride to Fleisberg after waiting quite a while.
Our driver seemed to be worried about our paper situation, so maybe people are scared of other people crossing the border here...

There isn't any place for cars to stop here anymore. You can use the bus stop further north, but this area is not great... Avoid it if you can!

A guy and a girl on a Monday at noon without a sign. This spot should be ok, but we only got local traffic to Kolding. We got dropped at an even worst place... Might be better to ask around or wait for cars to Hamburg (HH plates).

A guy and a girl on a Sunday at noon without a sign. I don't see where the other person hitchhiked here, there is no place in the roundabout. There is a lot of traffix though, so we tried at the exit of the gas station; even though not a lot of people pass though the exit, at least we could also hitchhike the people in the roundabout. Eventually someone stopped - very unsafely - in the roundabout and brought us a bit north of the German border.

not a hitching spot but useful knowledge - there's a free bus going to Stege 4-ish times a day during the summer months. you have to signal for the driver to stop, otherwise he just drives past. check the schedule in the geocenter

100% doable to hitchhike somebody taking the ferry to denmark, just stand a bit further than the roundabout in the direction of terminals. at the gate the driver just says one more person, they pay the same amount. on the ferry get out of the car and ask around for a ride or just enjoy and walk off via pedestrian gate, nobody checks once you're on. safe travels!

Many reviews saying that it should be really easy to get to Denmark. Surprisingly we didn't meet a lot of Danish cars there. After 30mins of asking around we met a guy going all the way to Netherlands. (He had a really small car though).

Probably a good spot if you stick with one plan. I constantly switched between asking cars that tanked and standing at the traffic light hoping someone would pick me up. In the end I got so desperate I even started asking the people that stopped at the red light and that’s how I got picked up to get into Denmark (7 to 8 am)

the only Gas station directly on the highway between Rostock and Greifswald.
It serves both directions but there were more people for direction east. I was ther on a work day noon in winter. There was not super much trafic but some cars would still come. Most people were going to Poland or Stralsund. One person would be driving towards schwerin, one person to magdeburg. Few people were going to Rostock and on a ferry to Denmark. Only few people were going west. It took me 4 hours until a person agreed to take me to Lübeck.
So all in all I´d recomend if you wanna go Stralsund or Poland. If you wanna go further west I'd recomend to get out on one of the parking areas on the highway or to hitch somewhere from rostock. this place sucks.

Much traffic going north (Sweden, Denmark, Norway). I was going back to Norway, asked a Norwegian driver, but his car was full. Then after 10 minutes a girl with a small dog came to me and asked me "Hi, What is your story?". Hehe then she asked me if I had a driving licence and if I drank alcohol that day. So she was going to Gøteborg and then to Stockholm. She asked me if I would like to join her and help her driving to Copenhagen. So I became her driver that day and did it to Copenhagen.

At that gas station you should even use "Oslo" sign :))) it is what I exactly did - I had 3 signs, i.e. Bremen, Hamburg, Oslo.

Bus stop. Big pull over area but just around corner from roundabout. Not perfect but after 20 mins someone pulled over (but going wrong way), 15 later another one did who took me west to the sandy lighthouse thing!. There is a sign saying no pedestrians just beyond the bus stop, so you can't hitch further along the road. Busstop was quiet do no audience. Denmark, so of course everyone speaks english

We tried to hitchhike a ferry to sweden which is possible but not super easy from here. We were standing in front of the check in gates. Cars are waiting in line there so you can talk to the people if they take you. We asked the employees of Stenna lines ferry company and they told us that the number of passengers matter and people were also showing their passports to them. So it seemed like that with stenna lines it does not work. to hitchhike. But maybe the workers did not really say true and if you would come to the gate already in a car that you hitched maybe it is not a problem to change the number of passengers without aditional fee. But they said you need to pay extra for more passengers.
Second ferry company TT lines had no workers on the gates so people were doing self check in on a machine. So even though they also have number of passengers in their ticket they could take you since there is no one to check it. We did not really found willing drivers though.
You could also try to just walk around the gates and directy to the parking where cars wait for the ferry. It seems doable to sneak around but we did not try. You could also try to come with a bike, sneak around the gates and jsut drive on a bike to the ferry with the cars. It depends how much they watch the cameras at the gates.
The check in gates for going to Denmark are directly next to the ones for sweden so after a while of trying for sweden we gave up and took a lift just to denmark. On the ferry to denmark the number of passengers does not matter so it is an easy thing to do.

Terrfible spot to get further south, there is a border shop here and every car gets back to Denmark after shopping. On the ferry we rejected opportunity to go to Burg and we regreted it. Try not to get stuck in there at all costs.
