We waited a while at the exit, certainly seems busy at the macdos and the service station however in terms of cars flowing to the exit it wasn't as hectic as previous commenters. However we found a safe spot for cars to safely pull over and got a ride home direct to Lyon. (Keep in mind this end of school holidays in October, so a lot of family cars. Nonetheless it is also a good spot for single hitchers, lots of trucks passing by so probably could go very far distances.

Got picked up by a young musician who was just about to pick up their blabla car passenger. Like other commenters said, it is challenging to safely pull over however still possible. Pretty decent spot with solid traffic, saw about 4-5 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes plates in about 10 minutes

Lucky almost night ride to my favourite river spot, i cannot stress enough how beautiful that spot is, very recommended to my fellow hitchhikers ;)

Got taken to la grotte de clamousse by a guy from Aniane, we arrived just in time for the last visit.

Very high traffic on a sunday afternoon, got an instant and direct ride to montpellier :)

Going the other way was a little harder, but still very easy. Cannot recommend more to hitchhike in the cevennes. We also visited the dinosaur footprint just next to the spot, the place is amazingly besutiful.

Got taken to Florac in less than one minute, literally the first car that passed, hitchhiking is really easy in the Cevennes.

Super nice spot with beautiful view, cars can see you from very far away if you are going to the west. We were four and we got taken by teams of 2 separated by like 10 minutes. Went to le festival de la soupe in Florac, i highly recommend that festival, one of the most beautiful experiences i've had in this country.

Got picked up but a lovely women going to Arles, stopped off a quite a decent Aire. I think walking (with a sign to show while people are in their car) and talking to people who are in their cars is quite effective here, some declined us with hand gestures and others offered to take us in the direction there.

Similar to the other reviewer, we were trying to go East (Cannes)/ Ended up thinking we could go Marseille (to catch more cars going East). Excellent spot to go to Marseille, it is quite a big peage. So need to consider cars stopping and drifting over safely.

This spot is fine, we left on a Friday morning not the best time. Was heading direction Cannes, and lady dropped us of at the Peage (big, most cars going direction Marseille) at Ciotat

Really nice to leave Paris and go south or West. Be careful ! If you try to reach from Paris by the RER, you need to take a bus that drives only from 9 to 11 and 14 to 17 !

Cool spot. You have to be ready to smile to the cars, being happy.. and hopefully someone will stop (because there is a redlight so you have 10-20 secondes in front of the cars) I wanted to go direction Paris so I put Metz - A4.

To go to Grenoble you have to stand where the cars get out of the highway just after the toll

Most of the cars that goes to the airport or stays in Paris, but this spot is still interesting to leave Paris and is close to the city.

Drivers are nice but not a very good spot, they don't really have the time to see you and stop

DIRECTION CHINA 🇨🇳 : Not the best spot but will work in the end. There is room to stop but trucks are going too fast. If you go for launch or dinner there will be many vehicles parked. You can eat, toilets, not too bad neither. I was taken by Omka to Jarkent where you need to pay a bus to go after the border, in a shared taxi that agreed taking me for free because I said I was hitchhiking all the way from France. Even the other people inside were joyful of helping me. I waited long time but I would say that you can find faster than me. My driver was driving at 140km/h so it was no problem hahaha M36

Not really a stop, we just wanted to get on track as fast as possible so we showed our thumbs while walking. Cars were going fast and not a lot of traffic. We could also cross the border with France.

Travel to north. 2 people m&f. Sitting there after our last ride and a guy walked by, see our sign at the backpacks und asked to take us with him. Bring us some kilometers to near Karlsruhe. Is first big reststation after france, lot of different people stop here.

Hitchhiking to GER. Standing with a france and german sign. Got picked up from 2 german students and was driven until Freiburg. Lots of different tourists refill their tanks here and see u standing with a sign and have enough time to decide if they pick you up.

Bus stop, lots of traffic to France, excellent.

500 meters from metro terminus Roi Baudouin on Line 6. Directions Ghent, Mons, France, Charleroi... Cars drive slowly and can easily pullover. Sign saying gas station symbol ⛽. First car stopped in less than a minute, but was driving towards Ghent. Second car to Mons.

Good spot, maybe easier direction France because the main parking is that side.

Sweet spot but didn't got me too far since many people were going to Llivia and i was going to France

We were here on a sunday mornig as we tried to get to France. We (two guys) were really unlucky and the only friendly people could've taken one of us. We went from the gas station to kaiserdamm and tried at the traffic light with signs for 40 minutes but had no luck. We gave up and went to Michendorf, had luck there

Got here 8am on a Sunday. Not much traffic. Stops with a sign for 30mins, then had a wash and sat outside cafe for a while resting with sign. Back to exit with sign and picked up in 15 minutes from a couple Romanians on the way to France

Then I decided to move to the converging road where they just go to the highway. I had a sign and I was waiting there for maybe around 40 minutes, 45 minutes. Then I thought that maybe they were not stopping because they already had some velocity. Some of the drivers told me that they were going to another direction because they could see my signs (France & Jonquera). So then I decided to go again to the petrol area. I started asking people around both while fueling the cars and also in the resting area. Lady from a track offered me to bring me to a nearby point, but I rejected and then just afterwards a French car offered me a trip to France so I joined. It turned out that they were going to one of the nearest villages to my destination so I was amazingly fortunate.

Hitchhiked here many times towards Ghent, France or the seaside. Cars drive slowly and can easily pullover on the hard shoulders. Waited mostly 5 tot 10 minutes.

Quite big gas station. Many People going to France.

Hitchhiked back in the beginning of August. Honestly I would advise hitchhiking or getting dropped off here unless you really have to. It’s not the worst spot in the world but there’s not too much traffic that flows out of this small town. I wanted to get to Brugge and some German dudes that were traveling to France saw me and went out of their way to take me to Brugge since it’s only about an hour away. I got pretty lucky here. Was holding a sign.

4 hours for a lift into France. Long ol wait but idk wheres a better spot for getting across. Done in July

Slow station on a Monday morning, Thumbed for a bit and then asked someone and the first person we asked was going into France so we took the ride. One woman in a wheelchair and one man. The cleaning staff were very rude but the gas station staff were great.

Too easy 😂😂 I just exited from my previous driver car, wrote my destination on my velleda when a 35 yo women took me directly to Montpellier. There were policeman near, I was lucky to be picked beefore they saw me (it is illegal to hitchhike at a toll station in France).
