Nice spot to go onto A10 in direction of Paris. Big round about but cars don't go too fast and it's possible for them to stop. Waited 20min with a "A10 Paris" sign on a Monday morning (10am) and got a ride to the next big service area on A10 (Aire de Meillac). Easily accessible by tramway C to "Berges du Lac", then walk 15min.

Great spot to catch cars going towards italy. I recommend the walk up here if you get let off at the roundabout like i did. Its not too long, just follow the forest path, and here you have good visibility and cars plenty space to pull over. The spot on the turn before is bad: barrier blocking cars from pulling over

Easy spot to Aix-en-Provence, Marseille etc. People uses signs and just thumb up

We (2 people) found a ride to Nancy after 25min. It's possible for the cars to stop at the side. People were going to Tours and Orleans also

We (two people) found a ride to Troyes after an hour. A lot of people were going to Paris there

One time in life experience. We were 3 groups of hitchhikers on the same spot. Two girls. Me and a girl friend of mine and one other guy. We headed different directions but we were all struggling witg getting the ride. Just the two girls got the ride pretty quickly. So i dont know if is a signt that is a good or bad place. But it was a unique experience.

It is a good place. But we wanted to go to the Germany. There were many Germans on the gas station and they were completely full. So we waited there a long time. After that we got a long ride. Than we were said that in Germany there is some holiday ending. So everyone is heading back with full cars. It was a sunday noon - afternoon

We were 2 people in the middle of the 2 roads going to the highways next to the bus stop. We wanted to go to Orléans. The spot is kinda tricky cause a lot of cars are passing but most of them are going to paris and they are driving fast. They can stop between the bicycle way and a street. We found a ride to the rest area of beaugency on the A10 affer waiting 80min

Great spot stayed for 3 min on Sunday evening with a sign and got a direct ride to Toulouse

not a great spot, was going to Toulouse stayed for 3 hours with sign, but not a lot of cars going in this direction. Took a car till Angoulême with a couple who were going to Bordeaux

We got a ride direct to the center of tours on a sunday morning. The space to stop is good but there is not a lot of traffic

We found a ride to the N10 in about 30min. We were waiting at the park spot right after the toll but the spot to stop is not optimal.

We found quite easily a ride to poitiers sud, people are going to the south in direction Bordeaux, I recommend

Not that it is not a good place to hitchhike. It is quite a good place. Just people were full or afraid. Took us looong time to get a ride. And it was a 40 min one. Maybe it is because it is a 6 in the evening on Saturday

Big gasstation. You can't have a eye on everything and everyone. But the more people. The more chances. So it is a good place.

Great spot a lot of cars but not accessible from the forest side, so you need to go over the fence, I’m actually teared my backpack. Got a ride from a routier to Limoges in 5 min under the rain.

it's SUPER great for germany(Passau). not my first time here. but bad for salzburg/graz :( got taken by a truck driver heading to France, decided to change gas stations.

Very good spot to go ouest (ausbourg, Ulm…) with luck we had a direct ride to Strasbourg, in France

Beaucoup d’italiens qui vont Turin. Nous avons finalement réussi à trouver Antonio qui a accepté de faire un détour pour nous déposer à l’autogrill suivant en direction de la France

Nous avons attendus 120 minutes pour trouver une voiture pour la france ou au moins un peu apres Turin. Finalement nous sommes sortis de la station à pied pour dormir dans la ville voisine

Service station with lots and lots of truck where you can even grab a coffee on the go I was holding a sign with "France" written on it and I tried both asking to the truck drivers and standing thumbs-up on the exit. Sadly, most of the truck drivers were going back to Turin. I got lucky to find a really kind polish driver that was going all the way to Troyes. My goal was to reach Lyon so he dropped me in a service area just outside the city

Follow the instruction other people wrote in order to reach this spot. Personally, I bought a €2,6 train ticket from Turin to Alpignano then walked for 20 minutes I was holding a sign with "France" written on it and the second person I asked got me a lift to Susa Autoporto, where he was heading to to work. It probably helped that we were both Italians but I will forever remember this as my first ever hitchhiking lift and I can only thank this community for the help

Biggest parking for trucks I've ever seen, maybe 200-300 of them. Every single one was going to France or Spain so it was s perfect spot to catch someone that direction. But we were going further into Italy There was mostly traffic from trucks but also a few cars going through. We've been waiting there for 2 hours asking around and caught a 300km ride somewhere around 23:00 by a guy that drove a Porsche there for some rich kids from Monaco For me the best spot in that neighborhood to go hop on the highway

Been left there by Italians living in the area that told us many France people go to this station because the gasoline is cheap. And they were right, foreigners were there, but like maybe 5 cars per hour around 15:00. Eventually after an hour guy took us to France but we had to pay. We were 2 guys

In a normal country for hitchiking it would be a perfect spot. But in Spain we waited 3 hours till some Italian guys took us. My mate was even talking Spanish and asking people around the gas station but everyone seemed to be afraid to take hitchikers. Been asking around gas station, staying with a sign on a bus stop near gas station and also trying to get someone on the entrance to highway and not much luck. Police came and said that we got to leave the highway's entrance. A much more traffic to Barcelona though so maybe it would be better and we were trying to go to France

The spot is alright, with a lot of space for cars to stop. Iwas a bit afraid for my first hitchhiking experience in Spain as I read that it would be significantly more difficult than in France. I was on my way to a village close to Girona which is a bit of an awkward way from Puigcerda so I wrote Ripoll and Vic on my cardboard. Eventually someone stopped and said he would take me to the place where the road to Ripoll starts. After talking a bit it turned out he would be going all the way to Girona in the afternoon after having lunch with his wife. I had to kill a few hours but was very lucky with my direct ride.

One person, mid day on thursday. I asked a guy from France and he took me near the border. People seemed quite friendly

Spot alright, rather quiet though on a Thursday morning. I had a sign saying Mons, France and asked the people that were there. In the end an older lady stopped and brought me to a petrol station about 100 km before Paris.

We were trying to go toward Zaragoza. Took us a while to realize that wasn't going to happen. Most people are going either to France or Barcelona. Around lunchtime we decided to accept a ride to Barcelona and ask a drop off before the highway exit. But by that time there were almost no cars coming through, and the ones that did weren't going to Barcelona. One truck driver accepted to drive one person, but we were two and wanted to stick together. In the end we took a bus to Figueres and then a train to Barcelona.
