We had a sign for Berlin but were aiming for Denmark, got picked up by a lovely couple who took us all the way to Flensburg and let us stay with them overnight.

Mi uzis 6-kilometran ŝildon kaj turko, kiu parolis la rumanan, kondukis min al tiu kruciĝo pli antaŭen, tre bonege.

Du somaloj ĉesis paroli kun mi dum 10 minutoj kaj fine ne veturigis min, kio estis tre malĝoja. Sed post kelkaj pliaj minutoj iu fine veturigis min iom pli foren.

La loko aspektas malbone, sed ĝi estas efektive bela. Juna virino veturigis min iom pli foren.

Ĉi tie mi jam uzis ŝildon skribita "FR" por vidi ĉu iu kondukus min almenaŭ al la limo, sed feliĉe, mi rapide trovis paron irantan al Nancio, ili revenis de metala koncerto ie en Germanio. Ni aŭskultis iom da bona metalo kaj ili eĉ donis al mi 50 eŭrojn, dankon multe, metalula paro. Alvenante en Francion oni jam povas vidi kiel aferoj ŝanĝiĝas.

Ĉar mi volis iri al Francio kaj la enirejo estis 2 km for, mi uzis 2-kilometran ŝildon, kaj kiam sinjorino venis plendi, ke ĝi neniam funkcios, aŭto kun 3 tre frenezaj uloj haltis por mi, kaj ili veturigis min 4 km, la 2 km, kiujn mi petis, kaj pliajn 2 km en la direkto, kiun mi volis iri, al intersekciĝo. Daŭris iom da tempo, sed ĝi funkciis.

Rapida veturo, sed ĉi tiu regiono estas iom konfuza, kaj por iu, kiu ne estas tre blanka kaj aspektas kiel enmigrinto, estas malfacile fidi je oftaj veturoj, do mi fine akceptas la plej rapidajn eĉ se ili estas al lokoj pli proksimaj, por daŭrigi la vojaĝon, strategie kompreneble. Estis la tria tago survoje al la Eŭropa Ĉielarko, komencante de la domo de mia frato. Interesting spot. The service station is quite dead. But it is possible (and also legal I think) to stand next to the Autobahn, since they are going relatively slow there. There is also space for the cars to stop but no one did. Eventually I got a Truck driver from the Service Station.

Good for going to Saarbrücken. Tried to get beyond Saarbrücken, but that seems to be hard. So eventually I took a ride to Saarbrücken, they even drove me to the service station on the border :)

Wanted to get on to A61. Tried it during rush hour. There are some people who take that route every day, for example to Koblenz. Not perfect to stop for a car.

We got sent here by ASFiNAG (highway services in AT) after unsuccessfully going to hitchhike at the exit from the roundabout (which is already a highway) and after some waiting time they drove around again and gave us a wave and a thumbs up - so this spot is approved 😅👍🏼 It is possible to stop cars going from all directions, enough space on the roadside to stand and to pull over. A bit tricky if you are going to SLO/KL, because the roundabout lanes are the 2nd and 3rd.. if going direction Germany, then it's great, it's the 1st lane closest to you. -2 guys, sign KL, Saturday afternoon

Most people were going to Paris, but I got extremely lucky and very soon found a couple taking me all the way to Düsseldorf, Germany! I arrived there when it was already dark so it was a plus that you can technically reach Orleans by public transport if you don’t have a tent nor want to spend the night outside. Also there is probably more traffic there in summer or during the day with people going further than Paris

in the early morning it's mostly workers going to the nearby places, also to orange, however i had to remain on the highway and was waiting for a ride that could drop me on a rest area. eventually i got a lift to lyon and on the way there the trucker told me he'd be going as far as germany. i ended up spending the entire shift with him :) obrigado, marcelo

a romanian trucker offered me a lift. he just started his shift and would have taken me all the way to italy, however i decided to avoid it and headed to slovenia over germany, hence he dropped me on aire de ambrussum

This place is counterintuitive, or I just got lucky, but I was exhausted and in a not-so-great mood, so I desperately wanted to get out of Germany. So I got a sign saying BE, and it took just a couple of minutes to get a ride to the small town of Kelmis in Belgium.

A good spot towards Mariánské Lázně, not a great one towards Germany, though. Here are a few trucks, but I was not lucky with them.

There is traffic going to Genk, the Netherlands or Germany. Also some UK plates.

Waiting without a sign for a ride to the border with another hitchhiker from Germany. After a while Albanian couple stopped not speaking a single word in English and took us to Honi i Hotit

Always a good place towards Oldenzaal or to nearby servicestation on A1 (direction Germany) both with sign Oldenzaal. Hard shoulder for cars to stop. Waiting time during day most times 10-30 min.

I agree with the latest review, it is entirely better to directly ask drivers in Germany (and elsewhere for that matter). Wasn’t having a lot of luck but by looking at the license plates I found a direct car to Bremen! Very sometimes the license plates are good indicators here in Germany :) I must’ve taken around 20 minutes before finding that ride

I asked the first person if he could take me to Germany. He was super kind (a croatian man) and he gave me a great ride to Rosenheim

Good spot to go Paris or Strasbourg, harder for Germany but it can be done.

Good visible spot, cars can stop next to the road. Entrance to highways towards Germany and France. Lots of local trafic & French and German cars. But no luck with sign Freiburg. Finaly got a lift to Weil border gasstation.

I waited two hours but it was a low traffic day and eventually there was some works on the gas station. Definitely the best place to go west ! Got a ride to Leipzig. If you really want to go to Germany it's completely doable there's a lot of Germans. Actually more than Austrians haha. But you have to talk to them. I waited almost two hours at the exit of the gas station then I decided to talk directly to the gas station and I was offered also a ride by a bus driver for free to Graz at the same moment I asked Hungarian couple with a dutch plate, they were going at the North of Holland but we agree to let them drop me at Leipzig. We somehow ended up here trying to go towards Germany. Traffic is low and there isn't really much stopping space. Avoid.
