Got picked up super fast. All the cars have to stop cause of the red lights and can see you.

Nice spot to get out of the city heading north

First person I talked to agreed to take me across the border, so super friendly people. Not super much traffic, also the gas station is currently under renovations, so no WiFi or lounge to warm up/cool off in.

Quite a good option if you are going North or South on the A9, but not so much so if you are going towards Czech Republic via A6, as most of that traffic is going via Langwasser. Covered bus stop nearby, as well as the funny Reichs-Burger King, an old nazi building repurposed into a Burger King and a gym. Got lucky because the person who picked me up said he usually goes through Langwasser unless he goes to his doctor. But imagine would be perfect for A9.

Sign for Köln. Definitely not the spot to go west on the 4. Cars going that way would have taken the 38 earlier. I should have continued to a better spot earlier but now the sun was setting. Spirits were kept high by offers of sandwiches, cigarettes and beer. Cheers to the FC Magdeburg fans!

I was trying to go west. I suppose this isn’t a great location for that. I unfortunately turned down a few lifts that could have at least got me onto the Autobahn. Fortunately after a while another came and I got a lift to the 9

Good in the morning, bad in the evening. Many cars go back to berlin but this is a good spot to get to poland. Standing near the highway exit with a sign works great. ... I arrived around 5pm and the sun was setting at 6. After 2-3 hours of standing in the rain, trying to catch a ride to poznan I went to get some fries(only vegetarian option besides the sanwiches) at the gas station. I charged my phone while chatting with a Bosnian truck driver who offered to buy me a soda and a sandwich. Then I went to the nearby woods to sleep in my hammock (luckily I had a tarp) and got a ride the next morning straight to the center of Poznan. Sometime's it's better to give up and start again the next morning, trust me.

The bus stop just before the traffic lights, decent traffic. Took surprisingly long to get a ride to the next gas station towards poznan where I was going. Many cars didn't even acknowledge me and I was getting a bit frustrated. In the end a woman picked me up and went out of her way to get me to the gas station, luckily! It might work better in the morning, it's always a bit tricky to get out of a city.

Asking rides at the ferry is often a gamble but I guess it's worth a shot. I was taking the ferry from Rønne to Sassnitz and when I was making a sign to Berlin a lady sitting nearby offered to take me there. So lucky!! Thank you Brita! Ps. When we were in the car she told me she makes true-crime documentaries and podcasts and she said I shouldn't hitchhike and gave me examples of some ppl getting killed. (After that I hitchhiked all the way to Venice loll)

Stood at the bus stop. The busses don’t run here often. Quickly found a lift into the city

This is an electric vehicle charging spot and truck rest-stop. Less traffic than a petrol station and vehicles that stop here stay for a while. I waited at the exit and eventually found someone able to drop me at Leipzig on her way to Berlin

Standing in between the two lanes onto the autobahn. The traffic here is low but people are then able to stop and chat without pressure. I found a lift to a rest-stop on the autobahn near Bayreuth

Looked around but failed to find cardboard. Came back to the road and found a car immediately. After a quick stop at a hardware store he dropped me at a petrol station just off the autobahn

Terrific spot. Found a great lift up to Ingolstadt

kind of anywhere along this road seemed good with places for people to safely pull into and people heading to the onramp. got a ride to munich city center!

Searched for a ride to lindau/Switzerland but no one took us, we tried for an hour. We moved to the spot a bit further, close to the bus station, then it worked out.

Was very busy, easy to find a lift to hamburg

Good place to get into Germany.

Not a lot of traffic but people were very kind. Two Romanian brothers drove us towards Germany because they watched Asia Express before xd

It was very hard for me to get any ride from here. A lot of license plates from Belgrade, Hungary, Germany etc but no one was stopping. During all that time I got only one offer to go to Preshevo but it wasn't on my way. After almost 4 hours of waiting I got ride to Vranje

Maybe the best spot to get out of Warsaw if travelling west. There is a hole in the fence in the back to get through. Came with a train to Brwinow and walked from there. Found some cardboard from the dumpster and first wrote Germany on it but no luck. Asked around the trucks and then went to outgoing lane to hitchike. Then changed sign to Poznan and immediatly got close to Poznan to next MOP station. Some traffic, a lot of trucks.

Great spot next to a gas station. Got picked up with a thumb+ sign to Hamburg / South. It was a worker going home, but ended driving me to Rodbyhavn to catch a ferry to Germany.

Not many cars but I found easily ride to Germany. I asked around and guy from Bulgaria gave me a ride. Cool guy and nice stories

Cool gas station for going to Germany (as most gas stations are nearby). I found two guys going all the way to Bamberg within a few minutes.

You might have to wait for a long time, but when you get a ride you will get very far. I held a sign that said "DE" and got a ride all the way to Germany from a trucker.

Idk if this is a best spot in the town but for sure you must go to this town if you are going west to Hungary or Oradea until the highway is not yet built. A lot of Hungarian license plates but finally a guy stoped for me who was going to Frankfurt. Sadly i was going to east slovakia so got off just after debrecen. Would have been really nice progress if i was going to germany. Really nice guy tho. Stood with oradea sign. Tho one trucker going the other direction shouted at me in some language and pounted to go more in the town or was trying to say that it was not the best spit but it worked in the end. But holy its a fucking long ride to Oradea form here trough all the villages

Great MOP, last one before Germany so quite some cars and lorries stopping here however most cars here are usually pretty full so you may have to wait quite some time, wait times of 30-60 minutes expected, potential for serious long distance drives though, so definitely worth the wait

Very good petrol station and truckers stop, with a bit of luck you can immediately find someone going to Germany, would probably ask around, easy to find rides to Wroclaw, Czechia, Dresden, potential to all the way to Netherlands, wait times of 40-100 minutes by asking expected though, as most personal cars are pretty full here and you have to find the right lorry driver, definitely you should come here and i don't get the Katy Wroclawksie hate

Big Gas station with lots of cars, got out of the car and the first person i asked took me 150km. He even would have taken me to Germany.

This spot is easy to get to from the city, but it took long to find a ride to germany. There were only 8 german cars in the timw we waited. (3,5 hours) and people from cz did not really want to take us to the next petrol station. This is a general experience I have had here, it is hard to get rides from czech people. We were with two people and found another hitchhiker who also slept near the same spot. Together with the three of us we found a ride to germany. The driver is going all the way to berlin. It might be nice to try out the bigger petrol station further along the road if you get stuck. There might be more international cars there.

This place sucks, we got a ride to brno after a full day and 2 nights sleep. First we ( 2 people) tried getting to prague or germany but no one from crech republic wanted to talk much or did not stop. Later we gave up on that and just tried to get anywhere but there was only people who could take us to vienna. There was a cool local bus driver that gave me some snacks and a drink. It is BIZAR how long this took felt like a fever dream. There is a nice camping spot at the water tank and easy to walk underneath the toilet gate at the macdonalds, fuck that genocidal company anyway. Wish you the best of luck this direction is kinda rough.

Pretty short ride, everyone went to Copenhagen instead of Germany, where we wanted to go. When the car stops for you I recommend asking them if it would be okay to take you at least to rastplatz in Kolding, from there it's only straight to Germanyyy

Really good spot. Traffic is super slow. 30km/h. We were trying to go to Germany with just a thumb and we go a ride to the highway but probably maybe woudl have been smarter just to stay there with a sign. We were two of us so we didnt go ask truck because we thought its not worth it but probably would recommend to do that there because it has very big paeking for truck that want to avoid the tolls.

much more worth being careful at an autogrill on the highway than holding a sign/thumb off the highway. got a ride through all of austria in a semi, but dropped us off at the last gas station before the austria/germany border because he was worried about bringing us, so we respectfully got off

apparently this gas station is the last cheap gas for people heading north into germany from the guy who picked us up the previous night. got a ride to munich but due to time he had to drop us off in the center (two males)
