Many people to ask, a vibrant Raststelle. Seems good to trevel to the north (Kassel and in the direction of Hannover)

There were many cars in the south direction (---->Bazel, München) Many cars did not stop for us, althought there was enough traffic.

I was lucky enough to hop in into the first car driving from that little road. All cars from there has to drive in the same direction, however, keep in mind that they might not take the highway later, and the road intersection later is not a good spot to hitch for the highway as there is no really space for cars to stop.

There is a little spot at the traffic light where you don't bother people on the cycling lane. Cars see you there and, if they want to stop, there is a secondary street right after where they can stop and you can quickly hop in. I realised a guy stopped only because a pedestrian shouted so be aware of your sorroudings. You can easily hitch by that turn.

In my opinion really good spot. Trafic is slow and they can stop at the bus station. The truck driver picked me up and is driving me to Cøpenhavn! Life is good.

Not the best, but really oke, lot of people stopt, but they are going to bremen. I needed to go to osnabruck. Later i decided to go to bremen to try another spot

This is a great spot to hitchhike from! The third car I asked to took me in I’m not sure if I put it correctly on the app, but look for the « kiss and drive » parking/Kurzzeit Parkplatz. It is great, as people won’t stay more than 10 minutes, making the flow of cars stopping there very quick. And because this is a big airport there’s gonna be a lot of cars coming to drop off or pick up someone and potentially from a lot of neighbouring cities (my case, needed to go to Bremen). I was there on a Sunday around 3 pm

I agree with the latest review, it is entirely better to directly ask drivers in Germany (and elsewhere for that matter). Wasn’t having a lot of luck but by looking at the license plates I found a direct car to Bremen! Very sometimes the license plates are good indicators here in Germany :) I must’ve taken around 20 minutes before finding that ride

Got here in the evening on a multiple day trip heading to vienna. A friendly local took us to a very good camping spot with a great view of the alps in the area. Not so good for going far distances. Summer 2025

It's a pretty good spot. Got a ride after a couple of minutes with a Praha sign. The traffic is not extremly heavy, and there is a place for cars to stop.

Cars are driving quit fast and there is just a small area to stop. Anyway, many cars in direction of Waldshut, even on a Sunday.

Good place to Freiburg im Breisgau. Less than one minute waiting with "FR" sign.

During night time it’s totaly empty. And even during day time… We have waited for 7 hours.

back on track after successfull battle of trying to get out of Frankfurt airport. great guy took us south near france border (shoutout Alfred from NY)

needed to get to A5 south, people ignored us or looked disgusted, lot of rich people and taxis. after some hours i decided to hide and let my girlfriend take the job. after a while some bolt guy offered blowjob to her, than marriage, but took us to the first gas station on A5 for free. (without bj or marriage). we slept at nearby field, 5km from airport to not to get killed

I asked the first person if he could take me to Germany. He was super kind (a croatian man) and he gave me a great ride to Rosenheim

Good spot to go Paris or Strasbourg, harder for Germany but it can be done.

Good visible spot, cars can stop next to the road. Entrance to highways towards Germany and France. Lots of local trafic & French and German cars. But no luck with sign Freiburg. Finaly got a lift to Weil border gasstation.

I waited two hours but it was a low traffic day and eventually there was some works on the gas station. Definitely the best place to go west ! Got a ride to Leipzig. If you really want to go to Germany it's completely doable there's a lot of Germans. Actually more than Austrians haha. But you have to talk to them. I waited almost two hours at the exit of the gas station then I decided to talk directly to the gas station and I was offered also a ride by a bus driver for free to Graz at the same moment I asked Hungarian couple with a dutch plate, they were going at the North of Holland but we agree to let them drop me at Leipzig. We somehow ended up here trying to go towards Germany. Traffic is low and there isn't really much stopping space. Avoid.

A lot of local traffic but also people going to Germany - got a ride to the Ellwanger Berge station after an hour

Lot of passing cars, lots of belges and germans. I just wanted to go to Lilles and found easily a car. I didn't want to go there at first but we got a bit of a miscomprehension at Vemars so I stopped there and I'm thinking of using this spot again if I ever want to speedrun to germany and further north lol.

Got a ride to Salzburg after two hours...but it was a public holiday in Germany so a lot of families with no room in cars.

Expect a lot of elderly people that don't want to talk. We were two, first we asked around the shops which didn't work, then just thumb up at the stop sign after the parking. A guy travelling from Malaga to Germany took us.

Nice spot, alot of cars going to Germany, harder to get too, you need to go through a field and climb over a small fence. We got a ride to Schwandorf.

I normally avoid Peages, but I didnt have an other choice. I got picked up by a Bus driver who brought me 2 Hours in the direction of Lyon. He drove to Marseille, so I could have went Germany-Marseille in one day so great spot, maybe it was just luck.

The first large petrol station west of Prague. Great spot for getting rides further west (Pilsen, Germany). (1 M, 1 F)

Eaven though it was dark we got taken by to surfers just by walking up to people who were just going threw the paying station. The spot is a dream and helped us on our voyage from Germany to Portugal. No luck needed!

A lot of traffic, mostly - but not only - cars from Germany, Austria, but also Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia. However! Germans won't take you, so it is better not to waste time with them...
