We got a ride to Groningen after about 20 minutes. Good visibility and many cars and a bus stop next to it for stopping

We got a rider after ~30min of waiting. Not that many cars at a time but people were very friendly

Only had to wait for 5 minutes until we got a ride to Oldenburg

I wait less than 1 min, a car stop and drive me to the city center of Frieburg

A sweet family picked me up! Decent traffic(many locals), a lot of space for cars to stop.. Be prepared for a bit of a language barrier ;)

Decent amount of traffic, kinda worth the walk from the ferry even though I think there are okay spots also a bit closer to the harbour. Got a ride to a busier spot.

Mostly local license plates and full Dutch holiday-goers. Found a Belgian couple eventually

Tried first with a sign Ulm, no luck. A sign Raststätte worked here.

Tuesday during Christmas holiday. Barely any car, more trucks. I went to the toilet and asked the first and only car that drove to Offenburg.

nice gas station! At the dressing there are tables where you can eat and relax and if you stop in the summer can even sleep! We were thrown here at about 6 pm and by night we could not find the car, although we went to ask almost everyone, although in the morning (from 6 to 7) we were found to Dyorthmund. Most cars went to Amsterdam, some to Belgium. This is a good spot because everyone goes somewhere far away from Hanover's license plates. In general, the drivers of cars and trucks rest in the parking lot, many people can be asked

There is little traffic, (we were here on monday at 4pm), but it is worth the wait. People are going to Leipzig, Hanover or somewhere further west.

Was hitching from here some months ago,it took me quite some time till I found a ride. I was asking people directly at the gas station. This spot is quite easy to reach from Worms train station, you can take a bus and then walk for a bit.

Stand right beside the traffic light so people can see you from the car when the light is red(Make yourself bigger). As cars go fast here. Drivers can easily pullover at the bus stop, which is right ahead of traffic stop.

Alright place to start hitchhiking south on the A7. Recommend it as a starting or ending spot for your trip as your able to get to there from the road nearby (though you might need to jump a fence). The parking spot isn't super busy, so if you need to switch rides I'd recommend other bigger autobahn parking spaces to the south or the north.

As of December '25 its open! Quite some traffic too

Many people to ask, a vibrant Raststelle. Seems good to trevel to the north (Kassel and in the direction of Hannover)

There were many cars in the south direction (---->Bazel, München) Many cars did not stop for us, althought there was enough traffic.

I was lucky enough to hop in into the first car driving from that little road. All cars from there has to drive in the same direction, however, keep in mind that they might not take the highway later, and the road intersection later is not a good spot to hitch for the highway as there is no really space for cars to stop.

There is traffic going to Genk, the Netherlands or Germany. Also some UK plates.

Waiting without a sign for a ride to the border with another hitchhiker from Germany. After a while Albanian couple stopped not speaking a single word in English and took us to Honi i Hotit

Always a good place towards Oldenzaal or to nearby servicestation on A1 (direction Germany) both with sign Oldenzaal. Hard shoulder for cars to stop. Waiting time during day most times 10-30 min.

I agree with the latest review, it is entirely better to directly ask drivers in Germany (and elsewhere for that matter). Wasn’t having a lot of luck but by looking at the license plates I found a direct car to Bremen! Very sometimes the license plates are good indicators here in Germany :) I must’ve taken around 20 minutes before finding that ride

I asked the first person if he could take me to Germany. He was super kind (a croatian man) and he gave me a great ride to Rosenheim

Good spot to go Paris or Strasbourg, harder for Germany but it can be done.

Good visible spot, cars can stop next to the road. Entrance to highways towards Germany and France. Lots of local trafic & French and German cars. But no luck with sign Freiburg. Finaly got a lift to Weil border gasstation.

I waited two hours but it was a low traffic day and eventually there was some works on the gas station. Definitely the best place to go west ! Got a ride to Leipzig. If you really want to go to Germany it's completely doable there's a lot of Germans. Actually more than Austrians haha. But you have to talk to them. I waited almost two hours at the exit of the gas station then I decided to talk directly to the gas station and I was offered also a ride by a bus driver for free to Graz at the same moment I asked Hungarian couple with a dutch plate, they were going at the North of Holland but we agree to let them drop me at Leipzig. We somehow ended up here trying to go towards Germany. Traffic is low and there isn't really much stopping space. Avoid.

A lot of local traffic but also people going to Germany - got a ride to the Ellwanger Berge station after an hour

Lot of passing cars, lots of belges and germans. I just wanted to go to Lilles and found easily a car. I didn't want to go there at first but we got a bit of a miscomprehension at Vemars so I stopped there and I'm thinking of using this spot again if I ever want to speedrun to germany and further north lol.

Got a ride to Salzburg after two hours...but it was a public holiday in Germany so a lot of families with no room in cars.

Expect a lot of elderly people that don't want to talk. We were two, first we asked around the shops which didn't work, then just thumb up at the stop sign after the parking. A guy travelling from Malaga to Germany took us.

Nice spot, alot of cars going to Germany, harder to get too, you need to go through a field and climb over a small fence. We got a ride to Schwandorf.

I normally avoid Peages, but I didnt have an other choice. I got picked up by a Bus driver who brought me 2 Hours in the direction of Lyon. He drove to Marseille, so I could have went Germany-Marseille in one day so great spot, maybe it was just luck.
