I was dropped off there the previous night and slept near the lake very close, then continued hitchhiking in the morning. I expected to quickly get a ride to Berlin but it was a bit long, but finally I got a long ride directly to Poland.

Pretty decent spot, fair few more cars than trucks, got a lift to brussels

Slipway fro the highway, decent spot for cars to pull over :) near a Maccas

Not the best spot, got a quick lift to a better place which was nice tho

Only got picked up because someone heading saw me and came back to get me 30 mins later on the way home, not the most obvious spot

asked around at petrol station and had a sign for the cars on the road, worked well to Kaiserslautern

Nice spot to get out of Duisburg towards the Netherlands, but I must say it was probably more about luck than a good spot. There's no shadow to stand in during summer btw, I got quite a sizzle on my neck after that half hour. The driver was really nice though, drove me all the way past Venlo, when he didn't even plan to cross into the Netherlands at all, and even bought me a coke and gave me some cardboard for a new sign

Got a ride to wroslaw in 10 min

Very nice spot. Got there on a sunday morning at 7:30, it looked extremely empty, but after 30mins at the on-ramp with a "HANNOVER WEST" sign a nice man stopped trying to take me to Helmstedt, but right as I was putting my stuff into his backseat, another car stopped after seeing my sign, saying they'll take me to Duisburg. Obviously I took that offer. Very nice people, even the ones that didn't take me. Very nice experience for my very first time hitchhiking

5 am, a lot of ppl go to switzerland. i was too lazy to talk and just stood at the exit thumbing.

Big station lots of traffic and a McDonald's, full with families today because vacation but also lots of trucks going to France and Spain. I waited at the end because it was too much for asking, but I'm sure it'll get you something faster. Had sign France, rejected a couple of rides to Strasbourg took one to Colmar.

Best spot for heading to Germany

asked a lot of trucks and cars. many go to germany and belgium, but didn't want to take me. hungary is easier

Bus stop after the ferry from Germany, come early and all the trucks that arrived the previous evening will drive past. If not just wait for the ferry and someone will take you

Great for going to Germany. You can get here from service station going up north using bridge on small road little bit north of that place. Getting from the "northern" service station to bridge is easy as there is small road connecting it to the service station but if you don't want to REALY go around while going from the bridge to this spot you will need to walk a litte next to a highway, just keep that in mind. If you are brave enough you can try to run through the motorway but I don't recommend that

Great for going north but terrible for going to Germany. Literally nobody goes there from those who stop. At the end I decided to go little bit up north to service station going north and cross highway to service station going south

Honestly not great. There are 2 gas stations, a McDonalds, and at least 3 different exits that cars use, so cars are dispersed and you can’t stand in a place where all of them pass. I also had not much luck since during my 4 hours wait, all the cars were either local, full, or going to Germany (while I needed direction Lodz - Warsaw). I ended up hitchhiking to the next gas station 80 km ahead, where I got immediately picked up by an Estonian couple.

surprisingly disappointing. look for french number plates or tourists. most germans return to germany. i asked people directly at the petrol station after i was not successful at the exit

Great south but I don't think that there is a god spot to hitchhike ferry across to Germany further south so I decided to go through Jutland and took first offer in that direction

A lot of cars going West direction. Very high chances to get a car to Germany and further. I got a ride directly to Berlin!

Much more cars to Warsaw than Poznan. To get to the Poznan and Germany direction, it makes sense to get a car in the direction to Warsaw, get of on the MOP Barvinow (in 25 km), cross the pedastrian bridge there and change the sides.

Horrible for getting in direction to Salzburg, majority goes to Germany, accept everyone that could take u a bit farther in direction of Salzburg, then it should be easier. Was changing positions between standing at the exit to the highway and asking at the station, asking is probably better.

The best ride we had on our entire journey from Germany (Dresden) to Romania (Constanta). A really lovely couple gave us a ride all the way – 420 km – to the Black Sea ❤️

Good for a Ride a north Germany (Bremen Hamburg)

Good Spot, a lot cars going in west and south Germany. Asked at the parking pace, no need for a sign.

Surprisingly quick with no sign. Took us to Germany

10/10 place to go to Germany/Füssen. I literally just held up my thumb with the sign, and the first car stopped for me.

the spot is a bit complicated, it’s not clear when the driver just wants to enter the gas station or to pick you up.. and the waiting time was long, maybe it’s just the case in Germany

I came here thinking it would be a good place to talk to people directly—at the gas station, in the parking lot, or by talking to truck drivers—and it really is. But I was literally stuck here for four hours, asking people if they were heading to Germany—ideally Nürnberg. Everyone said no; they were either full or only going to nearby villages (even the truck drivers here didn't want to pick anyone up). Fortunately, the last driver was heading to Domažlice, which was a salvation for me at that moment.

not the best spot for getting to long distance in germany (like bremen or hambourg) most of the people are from netherlands and getting stuff here cuz it’s cheaper however the place is really good bc most of the cars are getting slow bc of the frontier so i recommend to get a sign with just like ‘bremen or before’ on it (work for me) and good luck😸

the hitchhike official spot was close so i gets there not the best spot ever for getting to germany but it work for me, someone took me at the gas station at the border (i got a sign with only ‘germany’ on it)
