I waited at the gas station with a "Wien/Bratislava" sign but no one picked me up. The night was beginning to fall and I tried on the other spot next to the bridge to no success. I ended taking a bus to Wien

It's not a good place for a couple we waited a whole afternoon then slept here in tent on the next morning we found a truck driver who took us to Croatia. If you are alone it can be good there are some trucks there and most of them willing to take one person. ou can go to Slovenia or croatia from here but come here only if you are alone.

If you go alone it's easy to get a ride from a truck driver if you talk to them but for more then one person (we were 2) it was quite hard to get a ride. There were always some cars/trucks around.

I waited two hours but it was a low traffic day and eventually there was some works on the gas station. Definitely the best place to go west ! Got a ride to Leipzig. If you really want to go to Germany it's completely doable there's a lot of Germans. Actually more than Austrians haha. But you have to talk to them. I waited almost two hours at the exit of the gas station then I decided to talk directly to the gas station and I was offered also a ride by a bus driver for free to Graz at the same moment I asked Hungarian couple with a dutch plate, they were going at the North of Holland but we agree to let them drop me at Leipzig. Stood with a sign saying SRB, an Estonian guy driving to Greece took me all the way to Novi Sad and gave me 20€ and an apple

A German guy stopped and drove me all the way to the Serbian border. Probably better than anywhere inside Budapest proper

We waited at the entrance of the petrol station for two hours with a sign that said: Szeged Románia felé. One car stopped, but we had too much luggage (two people, two backpacks, two instruments) and then two turkish truckers took us to the border of Turkey in two days.

I think the spot is great to go Slovakia but I was even luckier, I managed to go to Miskolc, Hungary with a Slovakia sign. The cars can see you from a distance and the bus stop is perfect for stopping.

Typical highway station and rest place. Mostly trucks taking obligatory breaks. With some patience you can easily get at least to Ljubljana, with some Celje/Maribor or even Austria or Hungary

Got a lift to Sopron after asking an Hungarian old man. Better chances to go to Hungary than in the Gas Station at Vienna East

Really difficult place to go to Hungary, there is like 95% of locals and 5% that goes to Bratislava (we could go there 2 times). We took just a lift to the airport and see what happens.

A lot of traffic, mostly - but not only - cars from Germany, Austria, but also Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia. However! Germans won't take you, so it is better not to waste time with them...

We were heading towards Budapest but few people were going towards Hungary. More people are heading to a nearby airport. So we caught a ride to the airport and from there we will try to catch a hitchhiking to Budapest.

I tried asking drivers here if they could take me to Hungary. But I was very tired. So I just wrote a sign and someone picked me up.

Verry good spot lots of cars. Walked from the train station Hegyeshalom to here in about a hour - quite a long distance but made sense for us because we had the Hungary pass.

It's a really good spot. All of the cars to Hungary are passing by really slow. And there is a lot of space for the them to stop. Don't take the first ride to the next gas station and wait for the cars with longer destination. Spot is better then a gas station

Within 30 minutes we hitchhiked a man who drove us straight to Budapest. Many cars are heading this way towards Hungary. Heavy traffic.

If you travel from the Novi Sad Sever toll gate, there is a high chance that a lot of people from the area of Vrbas will stop for you. If you need to go further towards Subotica/Hungary, I wouldn't recommend catching rides just to Vrbas. The car speed at this spot is quite high, you can easily get stuck here.

We got robbed here from two junk women and one rumunian guy tried a ring scam on us. Be aware. About the hh: Most of the cars go to Wiena. We wanted to go to hungary so kinda bad for us. Luckily some serbian truck driver saved us.

Couldn't get a lift towards Hungary in 2,5 hours

We got dropped off here at around 10pm and said "fuck it we ball", stood in the middle of the road with thumbs up once every 5mins when a car passed. Somehow we scored a ride to Gyor, which was our direction, but if you're going to Hungary and by some miracle end up here, best of luck. most drivers are either going to Zagreb or alomg the border towards Serbia. the hungarian cars thend to be families of 4. Also, illegal. Have fun ;)

we wanted to go to budapest. high frequency of cars but almost no one travelling to hungary.

Its quite hard to find a ride to the other side of the border. We were HH with sign "H" and after some time we got a ride to Morahalom in Hungary, from where its easy to find a ride to Szeged.
