Spot looked decent at first, but for some reason I got stranded here for 10 hours. Took a ride to gyor in the end and a bus from there.

Took the bus here from the city center (650HUF) as someone else suggested and got taken to Belgrade by the 3rd car that passed on a Monday morning. Good visibility and easy for cars to stop. Don't waste your time at the gas station down the road and go here instantly instead!

Maybe I was just VERY unlucky but to me it seems like a shit spot. Spent a total of 5 hours here over 2 days (Saturday and Monday morning) and no one would take us. I think people might be scared to stop on the bus lane at the highway, and the gas station just before the onramp gets only like 5 cars per minute of which 95% are local traffic. I'll try the station ~25km outside now, you can reach it easy by bus in 20min (500huf) although it only goes every 2hrs. 2 stars for the gas station with cheap food, coffee and bathroom so you can at least suffer with some caffeine ig

Tried this spot to get to Szeged. Shit to get there, few cars going on the highway and most of the ones that do will take an exit into the suburbs. They also cannot stop well since youre basically standing on the on-ramp. Don't go here!

First person I approved took my all the way to Bukarest. I had to pay 25€ at the end (my fault for not asking) but yk I still got super far. Station was busy.

Cars pass slowly and there is some grass to sit. No shade. After 30min I got picked up (after changing my sign to ‚25km M5‘ instead of Serbia). Still got 200km. I‘d recommend this spot over the one below.

in THEORY could be a good spot but not a lot of serbian or romanian cars (not on in 90min?). A few begging people who could lower the chance but idk. I ended up switching to the gas station above, let‘s see how it goes

This is I believe the exact location of the spot detailed on Szeged’s HitchWiki page. It worked exceptionally well, with sign SRB got picked up quickly by a babysitter driving to Subotica. I chose to drive with her over the border, the wait was about an hour, and I figured it was worth it to avoid potential complications with walking across. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of traffic here, though it was a Friday afternoon so that probably helped.

Snow was falling and traffic was low, so got a bit nervy. Almost all trucks here, but I wasn’t getting much love from them. Finally saw a car pulling in to the vignette station, asked him in the parking lot for a ride to Budapest and he was happy to help me. Would recommend this approach over thumbing trucks. Not a bad spot and a fun walk to get there as well

I was semi-asleep while switching cars here, because it was the middle of the night, and I was sleeping in the truck that got me here, so take this message with a grain of salt. This was a good spot, a lot of trucks, and I found a car with a Czech licence plate willing to take me all the way to Prague.

Tried this spot to get a ride to Hungary as an alternative to the highway entry near the UFO bridge thing since that one wasn't working at all in direction Györ/Budapest (with big sign). Here was very dead however, even though cars have lots of space to stop. Probably lots of traffic moving only into the suburbs. Only use as a last resort. You can probably camp very well in the nearby forest though

Not so frequent gas station, but last in Slovakia in a way to Austria/Hungary. We (couple) spent some time here and asking people directly and also with sign to Vienna/Graz, but we didn’t manage it to Graz that day.

thumbing didn't seem to work, barely anyone stopped to ask where we were going (2 of us), and they mostly went either to the city or Maribor direction (we were trying for Hungary straight)

I think the spot is great to go Slovakia but I was even luckier, I managed to go to Miskolc, Hungary with a Slovakia sign. The cars can see you from a distance and the bus stop is perfect for stopping.

Typical highway station and rest place. Mostly trucks taking obligatory breaks. With some patience you can easily get at least to Ljubljana, with some Celje/Maribor or even Austria or Hungary

Got a lift to Sopron after asking an Hungarian old man. Better chances to go to Hungary than in the Gas Station at Vienna East

Really difficult place to go to Hungary, there is like 95% of locals and 5% that goes to Bratislava (we could go there 2 times). We took just a lift to the airport and see what happens.

A lot of traffic, mostly - but not only - cars from Germany, Austria, but also Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia. However! Germans won't take you, so it is better not to waste time with them...

We were heading towards Budapest but few people were going towards Hungary. More people are heading to a nearby airport. So we caught a ride to the airport and from there we will try to catch a hitchhiking to Budapest.

I tried asking drivers here if they could take me to Hungary. But I was very tired. So I just wrote a sign and someone picked me up.

Verry good spot lots of cars. Walked from the train station Hegyeshalom to here in about a hour - quite a long distance but made sense for us because we had the Hungary pass.

It's a really good spot. All of the cars to Hungary are passing by really slow. And there is a lot of space for the them to stop. Don't take the first ride to the next gas station and wait for the cars with longer destination. Spot is better then a gas station

Within 30 minutes we hitchhiked a man who drove us straight to Budapest. Many cars are heading this way towards Hungary. Heavy traffic.

If you travel from the Novi Sad Sever toll gate, there is a high chance that a lot of people from the area of Vrbas will stop for you. If you need to go further towards Subotica/Hungary, I wouldn't recommend catching rides just to Vrbas. The car speed at this spot is quite high, you can easily get stuck here.

We got robbed here from two junk women and one rumunian guy tried a ring scam on us. Be aware. About the hh: Most of the cars go to Wiena. We wanted to go to hungary so kinda bad for us. Luckily some serbian truck driver saved us.

Couldn't get a lift towards Hungary in 2,5 hours

We got dropped off here at around 10pm and said "fuck it we ball", stood in the middle of the road with thumbs up once every 5mins when a car passed. Somehow we scored a ride to Gyor, which was our direction, but if you're going to Hungary and by some miracle end up here, best of luck. most drivers are either going to Zagreb or alomg the border towards Serbia. the hungarian cars thend to be families of 4. Also, illegal. Have fun ;)
