Best spot for going north and south
Everyone can stop for you

Low traffic but that means cars might stop in the middle of the road for you. Got a ride all the way to the Golani junction. Better here than in the main road imo, people drive there pretty fast

Got picked up by a marine biologist heading towards Migdal. Great potential spot for Tiberias and onwards, lots of place to stop

Turned down a few rides as most people went to Tel Aviv and we needed to get to Tiberias. This woman picked us up then dropped us in the middle of the highway before the exit to Tiberias. Lots of traffic at decent speeds, but expect to wait as it's right across the central bus station

Spot near the Nova Festival Memorial Site. Cars are rather fast and not that much space for cars to stop but a car stopped after 2min with a ride to Tel Aviv. Alternatively walk 1km back to Re'im for proper spots with bus stops.

Great spot to hitch towards the crater/south/east. It's after the last roundabout so all cars in that direction pass here. After the end of the pedestrian walk there is enough space for cars to stop.

Bus stop but no shade. Not much traffic and ppl seem to be less willing to stop. (next to the border and mainly only military bases around

Easy to get rides but there is not much traffic and most cars only go to military bases in the desert. General road 90 is a better option but it is a beautiful ride along the border

Hard place to get to, but two hikers took a ride from here to kiryr shmona (northest city in Israel), about 50K in half an hour wait.
לא מקום אידאלי לתפוס בו טרמפ אבל בחור נחמד לקח אותנו לקריית שמונה ואפילו הזמין אותנו לפלאפל.

HaShalom junction (next to the haShalom rail station) is a good place to hitch hike if you're north-bound. At the rail station, walk east until you arrive to the Ayalon highway northbound traffic lights. The road is accessible and very wide - Favorable spots are a factory front with a lot of parking space, and a small hitch hiking station further down the lane, even though you are more likely to be seen next to the factory. Most cars either travel to the Kfar Saba-Raanana area via hwy #4, or all the way to Haifa via hwy #2. Remember that in Israel, the sign is extending the index finger and pointing towards the road (sideways, basically) instead of the traditional thumb.

I was going to the Negev. Looks like a good spot, but I did not get a ride after over 1 hour waiting (unusual in Israel). I started walking down the road - after 10-15 minutes walk, you are outside of town on the desert road, and anywhere there is a good spot.
