It's impossible to wait in Kosovo

Kosovo is hitchhiking heaven, it looks like you can stay anywhere and everyone will stop for you.

Literally first car stopped, typical Kosovo experience with the most helpful people I've ever met.

Hitching in Gora is special. the people are some of the kindest I've ever met. the road was quiet, but good quality, so enough cars. lorries are good because they seem more likely to be going to Prizren (which is what i did). be sure to, like all of these rural quiet roads in hiking areas, to be assertive in your method

Busy street, but not so busy at the gas station itself.

Most of drivers going towards Prishtina take this road, and they can conveniently pull over on the petrol station

Got a ride within 30 minutes from here to Prishtina

As good spot as it gets, traffic is slow here and it's on the only main road leading directly to Pejë

Not much traffic, but a guy waiting for his friend approach me to talk and they ended up giving me a ride close to Pristine where I wanted to go

Had no luck in this place with a sign "Podujeve"

Long wait cus cars take some time to check documents to cross the boarder, but in the end a polish trucker ended up picking me up, taking me almost till Belgrade. Waited around 3h

Great spot, big traffic, nice place to stop in the bus station. Got ride straight to Albania.

Most of the cars are turing around here or stopping at the grocery store. But we needed to go to kuqishte. But some guy eventually stopped. A lot of space to pull over. But kinda need to stand at the end of parking lot because before it its a blind corner so they dont see you.

Probably the best spot going into the mountains. Got picked up by a couple who were going to back to their hotel. Some space to stop and cars are going only to the mountains

It seemed like a good spot with a lot of space to stop and also traffic from the waterfall but noone stopped and when we started walking a border guard going home just pulled over and offered to take us to peja so tahts nice.

Nice spot to go north because cars are slow after round about and there a lot of space to stop. We were just going to the waterfall so a local went a bit out of his way to drive us there.

Probably one of the better spots to go north. A lot of space to pull over but two lanes so not everybody could stop but there is a traffic light right before. Were trying to hitch but got picked up by bus to peja so we were ok fine lets go with bus because it was already quite late

Straight to pristina, I waited outside the gas station with my thumb out and got a ride within like 5 mins. No shade but there is within the gas station obviously

Tried whitout sign and a young man took me and even showed me around his village and all the neighbouring villages bevore taking me to gjakovica

First car stopped, that's how it works in this region. My driver called his friend, who often rides to Kosovo. It turned out that he is leaving right now, he waited for us and I just changed the cars. Amazing, super helpful people.

Here I met a Swedish guy who was hitchhiking for the first time to Italy! Managed to hitch a ride together with guys from Kosovo going to Hannover.

There is no space for a car to stop but it's Albania so who cares. The car was going to Kosovo. I was heading to Valbona via Bairam Curri. The driver said that the majority of cars go there via Kosovo nowadays. I couldn't go there so had to stick to the old road.

If you end up here you're likely to get a ride towards Kosovo reasonably fast, there's a shop and a cafe there as well

Traffic is sparse there but you'll likely be taken to a better place to catch a ride towards Kosovo.

Fine spot just maybe some cars go a bit fast. We were heading to kosovo but got picked up by local who was goig to the next town and went past it to take us to the main road.

Good spot and fairly busy, got a dude from Geneva that dropped me into a town in Kosovo, you can see the license plates so that helps too.

This is the Exit of the Port with a lot of Trucks passing by. Used a sign saying Kosovo and a Truck took me all the way to prizren.

Was walking the road out north trying to get to the border with Serbia. Was not using sign saying Serbia just to prevent any conflicts, better without a sign between Kosovo and Serbia haha:)

I was heading to Kosovo, a local man picked me up. Spoke German luckily, so we understood each other. Took me all the way to the borders

Good spot to go into Kosovo. Decent traffic and a good view. Got taken quickly but then the driver had to drop me between the Montenegro and Kosovo border stations for some reason.

Didn't have to wait too long until someone that already passed me turned around and picked me up. Was a very nice local with his wife. They took me for something to eat and drink in Rožaje and then made sure I was in a good spot to go into Kosovo.

WTF MACEDONIA??? I got up super early, whipped out a sign saying kosovo and stood by this nice slow traffic packed highway with good visibility, a big smile and a ton of space to pullover, and NOBODY STOPPED??? One guy did pullover but wouldnt talk to me, he just looked at me dumbly, rubbed his fingers wanting money and drove off. I also had one A hole who did the fake pullover then acellerate off laughing like a total twat. I changed spots and got picked up eventually, but again, 3 hours in a good spot with tons of slow traffic is ridiculous. Hopefully it'll be better for you.

It was heavily raining and I was waiting at the rock with a Münich sign. It only took about 25-30 minutes before a guy from Kosovo offered me a ride to Germany and relatively close to Münich aswell!

Cars were quite hesitant to take me across the border (lots of diaspora people headed for kosovo with full cars). Locals were very kind and let me camp by the mosque in Dacici. Finally got a ride after crossing the first border checkpoint on foot the next morning. Beautiful nature though.
