Man this shit messed us up! Literally the perfect spot to get to Poland. Gas station, bus stop, space and time but these people made us feel like shit for even existing. Standing with a sign got them to change to the outer lane😭 even approaching them at the gas station got them avoiding eye contact and I think they made the point to reject us as coldly as possible😭😭 some even laughed in our face. Eventually a dude driving to germany took us to Wroclaw for 40€.Problem could have been the Monday morning but aside from all the other things, this should be a pretty optimal spot to catch a ride

Lots of drivers going to Riga or the surrounding area. Got a ride to almost Riga in 10 mins at 22:00

Moved here after an hour of waiting with the sign “RIGA” on the last bus stop on the Kaunas-Klaipeda freeway, this spot is way better than the bus stop, as at the bus stop cars are going way too fast to read your sign and stop in time. I wouldn’t say the spot is dangerous, it’s definitely legal, as the freeway has already ended. Best option imo if your driver is going to Klaipeda and you’re trying to go to Panevezys/Riga/etc., however expect some waiting time. Try to not get stuck here near the night, as it has no lighting and the forest around it is a protected area, so I’m not sure about the legality of staying there with a tent and it’s fenced off and extremely wild anyways, so the practicality isn’t great. Probably best bet is to try to get past Panevezys to the gas station even if you’re trying to go further.

We got lucky I think, but this pump had lower gas prices.

incredible spot for poland lots of trafic and trucks and u can ask the people at the gas station or just wait at the end (there is a STOP so cars needs to stop and are very slow) got taken to elk in poland in 20min with a sign ‘POLAND’ recommend it 100% it’s perfect good luck yeah😸

a good spot for real lots of trafic but if u want to go to kaunas u have to show your sign to the cars in the middle of the road which is a big tricky but doable, i got take to kaunas in 15min good luck the spot is great (lot of space to stop) 😌

perfect spot for klaipeda full of traffic, space and you can be easily seen got took to klaipeda in almost 5min on a sunday in august fully recommend it good luck🫡🫡

it was a great spot for me! i found a truck that drop me to vilnius directly (i fully recommend to be active when u see one - use your sign - trucks are perfect if u’re looking for long distance) maybe it was bc it was sunday in august and ppl needs to get home but i’ve seen a lot of trafic and some classic car stops i definitely recommend it but you need a sign 100% and try at the end of the day (more traffic i presume) good luck😇

i always find a rid here in less then 10 minutes, always someone going towards the border, sometimes to marijampole, this time got a ride straight to warsaw from the first car

Got a ride directly to Latvia, just before Liepaja. A lot of LT cars are going to the campings near Liepaja during the summer and it's never should wait a long time here to get a ride.

It looks like bad hitchhiking spot, but if you have a sign and reflectors, it actually pretty good. A lot of cars going to Palanga, and it make sense to accept short ride and get further on the way to Liepaja

Only local traffic. Not good for hitchiking towards Liepāja. It make sense to walk 15 min to the next spot on the road after the turn to Palanga.

Iconic hitchhiking spot. A lot of place to stop for the car, but the speed of cars ir fast, so use you sign. Easy rides to Klaipeda, but it's possible to get a car to Riga as well.

got extremely lucky, was a 11km to get there, I was about to pass out and a Ukrainian took me in, invited me for burger and drove me all the way to warsaw with my Kaunas sign

Super busy gas station when I was there. Ask couple people and instantly got a ride to Vilnius. Or you can just stand at the exit if you want there enough traffic for it. Idk how much cars go to Kaunas but I can imagine you find some for sure

If youre trying to get to Lithuania or further, prioritise further license plates. Lots of local Polish cars, but lots of cars in general, so you simply cannot ask anyone, and there is decent international traffic. The gas station is compact, so you can see everyone that comes in. Only minus is that there aren’t any trucks.

Great place to go to Lithuania

A lot of cars going to the north east direction stops here. Got a direct ride to Lithuania on a Saturday morning.

Good spot, last place u can really HH if going to Lithuania aha. Like the 4th car took me, but it genuinely took about 15,20 mins for 4 cars to go past.

We were 2 males, very early morning so it took a while because traffic was low, but in theory a perfect spot for cars to stop going south towards Lithuania and Bauska. Got a ride with sign ”Lietuva” to Bauska

Asking everyone around if they are going to Lithuania. But half of it was staying in Suwalki. Lithuanian cars were usually full of things. But eventually a estonian camper took us to Kaunas. But still probably its the best gas station to get to Lithuania

Probably the best gas station to get a ride between warsaw and ostrow from my experience. We were trying to go to Lithuania but we accepted a ride to Bialystok which was maybe not the best idea because it can become pretty hard to get out of there. So if you are going to Baltics just stick to the main highway. Eventually you will get someone who is going there.

After roundabout trying to catch cars coming from Suwalki headed to north, great to get Polish going home but most Lithuanian cars are really full, at first declined local rides, but in all honesty, you should take the first car that takes you further up north, for a ride of 20kms or so you will get a car within 20 minutes, for a ride to Lithuania or further you will have to wait way longer

Towards LT, been here quite some times, always conflicting, this spot is ideal for long distance cars, but you have to get here in the first half of the day when those cars come by, in the evening or in the dark it really is long long wait, if you even get a car. The spot itself is great, huge roadside where you can stop anything, also behind top! there are few lorries parked for the nights, but most of the companies are at the most going to southern Lithuania. If you get here early you'll get a ride within 5-10 minutes, if you come here in the evening expect 60+ minutes of waiting

Towards Lithuania, first somewhat okay spot, even though as there are loads of good places for cars to stop along the way from Auce, noone will cuz about 95% of the cars are locals headed to any of the border villages as well as this road being generally little used, try to aim for Lithuanian passenger cars, wait times of 30-50 minutes here, anywhere before probably 60+ minutes

Busy service station. Was able to find a lift to Suwalki but should be very easy to find one to Lithuania.

It rained quite heavily, so I found shelter nearby Vynoteka. A lot of people going to Lithuania buy cheap alcohol in Poland's border, and I believe this is one of the last alcohol stores in the north.

A bus stop with enough space for cars to stop. Good spot if you want to get out of Augustów and go to Suwałki (which is eventually much better city to get a ride to Lithuania). Waited 25 minutes with sign Suwałki/Kaunas.

Small gas station. Going to Lithuania, the station is right after a curve so drivers dont see it that good. We were in pair, one hitchhiked on the entry to the station and the other at the exit. Sign "LT" - Lithuania. Got a ride past the border to the closest town.

Tried my luck here for 90min towards Lithuania. Although there are many cars passing and there is an unused bus stop to stop safely, no one took me. Seems like a good spot, and also quite a few Lithuanian cars. After 90min, I moved further to the other mentioned spots on this map, and waited 60min more to be picked up.

One of the better highway exits in Lithuania outside the big towns. Took a fairly short ride, would have waited for direct ride to kaunas hadnt it rained.
