Eh. Most people seemed very miserable getting out of work. Finally picked up by a very sweet lady to the huge petrol station south. Also as others noted, got the ride from the parking area. I should have just taken the free public transport to the petrol station but was unsure how easy it would be to enter.

I never really succeed getting long distance rides in Luxembourg, despite the possibilities. Had a sign for Strasbourg in the torrential rain past ten pm. Eventually a car for Metz stopped - it was foolish as there's almost nothing to stop at before Metz but I took it anyway and spent the night camping. On another occasion, perhaps I can crack this...a sign for Stras/ Germany? Who knows..

Very shitty place for car to stop when you are standing at the highway entrence but still doable. I was extremely lucky with getting a lift so fast. In terms of getting here from the town, when you get to road connecting truck stop on petrol station for going north with roads outside of it next to a bridge over highway you need to walk on small path in to the forest that's going right next to the fence. Then after like 20 meters or something you will find small hole in fence wide enough to get into service station through it. It will be marked by log penetrating the fence (that probably was used for creation of it). Then there is a safe underpass next to a petrol station itself that you can use if you are going towards France

surprisingly disappointing. look for french number plates or tourists. most germans return to germany. i asked people directly at the petrol station after i was not successful at the exit

Lots of traffic, got a ride to Nancy, one man one womman one wheelchair. The pedestrian underpass has been rebuilt so you can change direction here too.

if you're intending to walk here from a local town be aware all the entrances can only be opened by staff members, I just hung around the door in sight of them until one saw me and let me in very good spot for hitching

This is a nice spot for going south. I waved to cars going from the parking lots. I had a sign saying only FR.

The amount of traffic can feel overwhelming. Many people are headed towards Cologne, but it's tricky to find spots on the way to continue on a long-distance journey. Took a ride to Koblenz. You can sleep in the rickety playhouse behind Burger King.

As of 2025, this spot doesn't serve Trier!

We somehow ended up here trying to go towards Germany. Traffic is low and there isn't really much stopping space. Avoid.

Before the ramp for the highway there is a turn off for a couple businesses. Stood there at 18h with a Belgique sign and was picked up in less than 10 minutes and taken to Namur

i slept in the forest next to the station, theres a metal grid fence that you can easily climb in the truck stop area next to the highway. just make sure to wake up early to climb it up again with no one seeing. got a ride to metz by a nice belgian couple on their way to italy. lots of people were willing to take me but their cars were full of luggage.

To be honest you are much better taking public transport. It is free and runs quite often. Gas station asking is kinda pointless, many Belgians going for cheap cigarettes. So getting to central Luxembourg is almost impossible.

To me this place was not that good, but I got a ride. Keep an eye for cars from the parking, got a ride with one of these. Big sign FR. Sunday evening

So this spot is also doable in Nord direction. Medium traffic. Cars + trucks. Also toilets and water tap behind them. Lot of ppl going to Strasbourg/Germany. Got a ride Luxembourg in like 30 mins.

After I faild at gasstation on highway to get to Luxembourg here I took ride to train station. Good place for short distences. people see you well and can stop on a bus stop.

IF YOU GO TO LUXEMBOUR DONT GO HERE!!!!! I thought it would be gteat spot but even in rushhour no one stoped me. After 2 hours I rewrite my sign to Metz. After 59 minits of nothing I ran to closest vilige got ride to Metz in 3 minits and then got the train to Luxembourg (right now only 10 e). This spot is good to go to Paris Ok for Germeny Terrible for Luxembourg and Metz

Yes...not the greatest spot for getting beyond Brussels. Regardless, got that ride to Luxembourg which was far better than I'd hoped :-)

Well, this is a strange one. Arrived at midnight - camped behind the little (very little!) woodland towards the entrance to the left and put in earplugs (as the traffic is really loud). There was maybe two cars around at that time and I was beat. In the morning it felt a little bleak - traffic was so so but it felt like mostly locals. Still, I knew I would eventually find someone for Strasbourg. I began to heat water for a coffee and along cones a Luxembourgish car. He was going to Nancy, I believe, but decided to deviate to Stras as it was faster. Think he just wanted to take me. He hadn't seen a hitcher in a long time. Awfully sweet guy. Shared his veg wrap with me. You have toilets here& tap water. Not a place I'd like to be in winter, but frankly the road sucks from Luxembourg to Metz and there's little other options. I had stood in Luxembourg for two hours under heavy rain and storm with a sign for Stras to no avail. But, arrive I did...finally :-)

Almost completely deserted. NO lorries will stop in the Calais radius of 150 km apart from out of cigarette desperation. Arrived around 6:30pm and realised I messed up (though there's almost no possibilities coming from Lille...). Should have gone with the original Luxembourg idea for getting across to UK, or the reliable Jabbeke (though same situation with lorries). Try to avoid stopping here. Was saved by a guy who wanted to see the sea and didn't read the news. A group of guys were trying to get into people's vans/cars. Not the best hitch friendly environment.

Pretty good spot lots of traffic coming. Got a ride straight to Luxembourg. Took a long time though which kinda make sense since its far. I started on a Friday afternoon. Also there was construction happening on the curve.

I tried to get a ride to UK for 9 hours with sign with big letters "UK" but failed so next day I decided to change direction and go to Luxembourg instead as I also would have little issue with getting local sim card as next day on which I would be buying it if I succeeded as it would be a Sunday and most stores for that would be closed so I thought that fuck it, this country is not worth that struggle. I leave the sign in bushes next to highway exit right after road from truck parking connects to road from gas station on right side of road so if somebody want to use it feel free and good luck to you all

Hitched just the once here but will try again soon - got a long ride to Luxembourg despite traffic seeming thin. Let's see if it was just lucky for the next time?

Biiiiiiig layby right after roundabout. Ride north to St vith which has a junction. Lots of dutch plates. Acess using free public transport in Luxembourg. Trois vierges has a station, and bus 174 goes to this junction. Lots of forest nearby, camping potential. 20 mins, thumb only, bearded man. Drivers spoke English, french and German.
