Really nice spot, I quickly got ride to Budva after rejecting two offers to different direction

I got extremely lucky and girl that saw me hitchhiking earlier but didn't reacted in time to pick me up when she saw me on the ferry she approached me and ask do I want a lift to Tivat airport which I took

Stayed a little behind the spot (maybe 50 meters) the albanian taxi drivers that take 5€ for a ride didn't vorher me at all and there was room for people to pull up, many cars going and around 17:00 also Albanian workers going home from work, got a ride to Shkoder pretty quickly

Waited by the bus stop, quickly somebody pulled over, lots of cars going to podgorica

Endlich space to pull up, some people going fast but they can all see you, pretty easy

cars going really slow because police takes time to control the passports not many people going into montenegro an not many stopped, evetually somebody stopped and we (2 people) had to split up because they could only take one police didn't alow us to go in before the post and ask the people in their cars might be smarter to just do it or wait before the post and ask the drivers and if you find somebody crossing the border by foot and then to get into the car.

The best spot in Bar i think. There is a shade, only one lane for cars and they are going slow. If you hungry you've got some bakery on the place. Didn't have much luck in montenegro tho

A nice couple picked me up literally the minute I put up my sign to Trebinje and luckily drove me all the way to Montenegro. Good spot, enough time for drivers to see you, also enough space to stop.

Space for stopping is quite big and there is nice place for sleeping near by close to a river (I tested it) but waiting times are high here. First, not many people are going from Serbia to Kosovo. Second, most of them aren't really willing to take you also one Kosovo Albanian stopped but he wanted money so I refused ride. After waiting for two hours on a day before, camping close to a river and then standing for another two hours the next day I got lucky with Kosovo Serb who took me to Serbian town of Gracanica south of Pristina. Over all if you want to hitchhike from Serbia to Kosovo it's doable but requires a lot of patience so maybe it's better to just go there through Macedonia or Montenegro instead but if you want to go like me than good luck, you will need it

Waited pretty long but that was propably because we were there pretty late. There are some trucks from Montenegro, so you can propably get lucky here. Most people in cars are just going to Belgrad or some small villages though.

Nobody took us. Wanted to go to Serbia but only locals in Montenegro were somehow reacting. Nothing from Serbs.

Quite a good spot! Came from the direction of Mostar and was dropped of here - just after the traffic lights at the right side of the road. Eventhough the houses here are quite close to the street and there is no real space to pull over, cars just stop at the road, so that’s no big problem. The spot also got some good shadow and you will be seen quite good from the cars coming from the crossing. You can also sit at some parts of an abandond house/sidewalk thing there close to the road in the shadow which is maybe nice if you have to wait longer. Waited there no longer than 10 minutes though at a saturday morning on my way towards Montenegro. (Single male with a sign „Trebinje“) Was taken by a very nice Bosnian couple, which was coming all the way from the north of BIH and was on their way to a friends birthday in Herceg-Novi, Montenegro, so they offered me to take me not just to Trebinje but directly all the way over the border to Montenegro which was actually my goal for the day :) Was invited for a short coffee break on the way in Trebinje and afterwards waited in the brutal sun at the que at the border for 3hours!, cause it was high season (August) with a lot of tourist cars packed on a road which is just one lane in each direction with border guards working quite slow at the border… :) (But don’t try to walk over the border, its a very long walk without any houses, shadow, or anything else at the road (and probably even hotter if you are not in a car) with some unfriendly snakes living in the areas on around the road.) Made it over the border in the end despite everybody losing their hope and arrived in Herceg-Novi in the afternoon after beeing in the car for more than 5 1/2 Hours for a distance of around 100km :)

Nice spot - was just waiting a couple of minutes at a sunday morning before getting taken by a nice couple from Belarus which just moved to Montenegro 2 years ago and took me to the ferry terminal at Kamenari. (single male with a sign saying „Kotor“) *Also can recommend the bakery next to the spot, located at the street going up the hill at the other side of the road next to the pharmacy - you can get yourself some very nice apple-strudl like pastry there for just 1€ which is quite cheap (and very yummy!), and you can also see a lot of locals going there, so its really a good place to stop by if you are hungry ;)

Quite good spot, you got some shadow and are located right after the roundabout with cars possibly going in the direction of Ulcinje/Albania. Despite that there was somehow apparently not soo many traffic to Albania -lot of local license plates, and people turning into the parking lot to go shopping. Sign with AL/Shkadar - collected two middlefingers with that :) (the majority of people in that part of Montenegro don’t seem to like Albania the most). Was waiting for around 1 hour, until getting taken by some french family turning in from the parking lot on to the street and going to Ulcinj :) (Eventhough I thought people would go via the shortcut (R-29 road) to go from Bar to the Albanian border it seems like the majority is going the longer way through Ulcinj, so you maybe will be more successfull with a „Ulcinj“ sign)

Like second car we asked took us all the way to Montenegro, but we got very lucky. It is better to ask around as Serbians did not react to thumb hitching much. Otherwise okay. Gazprom doesnt accept cards. Free WC, free wifi. Lot of people going to Cacak.

Outside a gas station and shaded mid-morning. Signed and thumbed before approaching a couple parked at the gas station for coffee asking if they were going to Mostar. They were tourists who had just come in from Montenegro that morning and were going straight to Mostar I'm not sure how common it is for people to go to Mostar on this road (I feel like through Ljubinje is faster). Maybe I got lucky Turns out we live in the same city, same district

Monday morning in July, not many cars. A huge German campervan that hadn't stopped for me and my friend when we were trying to hitch from Bosnia to Montenegro passed me by (and didn't stop for me this time either hahaha). It's a good spot, spacious and so on, but no shade. I was trying to get to Ostrog.

I was getting away from a creepy couchsurfing host who had hosted me in his van at Jaz Beach (the campground behind the beach is free and big!) I had a sign for Tivat, got picked up by a couple of French dudes. Montenegro isn't really easy to hitchhike, also I have only once been picked up by a Montenegrin.

Great place if u want to head to Dubrovnik, less so if u want to head to Montenegro. On Friday, midday, we spend here more than 3hours waiting for a ride to Herzeg Novi, with a sign BUDVA/HERZEG NOVI. Lot of cars going to Dubrovnik, not so many cars going to Montenegro.

Amazing place but not many cars (Monday morning). Lots of international cars (a German van that didn't stop for me and my friend when we were trying to hitch a ride from Bosnia to Montenegro passed me when I was standing here, and they again didn't take me hahaha) and holiday makers. No shade but lots of space for cars to pull over.
