Good spot for asking people around for a ride to Oslo, a lot of traffic, place to eat and charge your phone.

If you are a smooth talker you will easily get a ride South towards Oslo. But otherwise not recommended. Maybe I just was lucky this time.

The place itself looks ok, but the people here are rude as hell. There were some guys who stopped and started to ask me to pay, and when I said no they started laughing. Anyways, avoid to get stuck in this part of Norway.

Guy and girl heading towards Oslo, sign saying Gol/Olso. Got a lift to Gol in 10 mins. Good spot, traffic going Bergen-Oslo, speed bump means cars are going nice and slow.

Quiet road. Heading towards Oslo. Got a lift to road 7 after about 30 mins, had a sign saying Gol.

Very quiet road, got picked up by the ~10th car after around 45 minutes

This is an amazing spot. The traffic is slow and there is a lot of it plus a bus station pocket.

No luck after 2 hours, loads of local traffic turning onto the smaller road, lots of campers going by but no-one stopped

Lots of space to stop, got a lift to Gudvangen fairly fast.

Got a lift to Aurlandsvangen / the road to Vassbygdi. Good spot, lots of cars heading to the highway and space to stop.

Early morning, got (another) lift in a tour bus to Flåm, heading to Aurlandsvangen.

Direction south. We waited on the side of the road with a sign that said TRONDHEIM and stuck out our thumbs. This is a very open space, so we could see cars coming out of the tunnel. Although there is no spot for cars to quickly pull over, drivers interested in picking you up can turn into the visitor center to the left. A driver approached us after he was finish with his break - he said it was our lucky day: he was heading all the way to Trondheim!

Amazing spot apparently, 10 minute wait on afternoon on a sunday got me ride to destination. Solo with sign to Oslo, but friend picked me up at Roa.

Should be good spot, if you go at the right time, but Lundamo going south is just better. Missed train so had to go here. Got a ride from someone going to Lundamo.

Walking along the track back to the main road a thumbed a German camper that drove past us. Lift to Odda.

The spot seems decent, with many relatively slow cars from roundabout, but i judged wrong and it was uncomfortable. Guy was driving north but decided in lillehammer to call a girl he knows to hook up 🤣 I think this spot is too far south in norway to get a decent ride from people pulling fully off the road into just a rest stop.

Picked up by a guy who had walked from Italy to Norway, as well as the entire length of Chile. He invited me over for breakfast. Thank you Ivan :)

Here you have a bus stop with a roof if needed You also have a K-market But so it's sad cause half of the cars stops at this supermarket I waited for a long time, this road is not easy to hitchhack, but an Estonian guy took me all the way to Norway's coast!

good spot cars are very slow here and after couple of minutes I catch car to Otta with guy from Norway

got a short ride to the next gas station/rest area. There is much traffic to Norway there.

Male, Sunday evening in summer, going south to Sweden. Mostly local traffic, but this is a place where people pass from Norway/Finland driving down to Sweden. Also a gasstation and a store nearby. Didn't need to camp because an elderly couple took me late in the evening to Sweden, but I think there is plenty of opportunities to camp in the forest.

Waited for drivers leaving the parking area of the supermarket. They're almost all going down to Norway (hh in August 2025)

i think i just got unlucky - i was stuck here for almost 2 hours when in theory it should be a perfect spot. eventually i was saved and hitched a car to Norway. i reccomend a sign, because after a few kms the road splits in two.

I went on the ferry thanks to a car coming from Maribo. Then on the ferry I was looking for people going directly to Hamburg. After 10 people, I found 2 dutch brothers coming from Norway and going to the Netherlands. They dropped me at Moorfleet Ikea Hamburg. I was alone and with a small bag.

It's better here, a Romanian truck driver picked me up, (my first truck in Norway)

I took a bus from city centre (50nok) to this spot. I was lucky, my last hitchhike in Norway!!! And picked up by a smiling Syrian man.. it was really hard to hitchhike in Norway compared with other European countries, but in the end, I made it! :) thanks to those who I met;)

May 2025. I think I got insanely lucky - a lift all the way to Norway with a local guy.

2persons. We were aiming to go towards Norway. Everyone seemed to be only going to Gothenburg, eventually we found a girl that was going to Trollhättan and we decided to get dropped off in Bohus.

Awesome spot to go north to Norway. Cars go pretty slow because it is in town and there’s a good amount of traffic.

I was at the bus stop in front of the airport. A man from Norway going to Montenegro took me to Herceg Novi where I can take a bus to Kotor.
