Cars go at 70km/h so a bit too fast to my liking. Also hard for them to go back on the road. Would not recommend this spot (got taken by friends in the end 😅

The only gasstation before swedish borders. We were lucky to get a german dude going all the way to Copenhagen! Good spot overall, a lot of cars:)

We were making a chocolate brake and got asked if we want a ride. So technically no active hitchhiking but great spot. Good visibility and loads of place for cars to stop.

A girl and a guy with backpacks raising the thumb. Most of the traffic stays in town. And there is not so many cars here.

Waited just a couple of minutes until we got a ride with a truck driver. Accessible by metro, cars go fast but there's plenty of space to stop:)

This spot was great, but there was a good reason: there was a temporary traffic light here. Cars had to stop for a pretty long time. If there is still a traffic light, it's a good one; if not, there is no point going here. And it's a pretty far walk from Narvik city, so you can probably find a better place. Also, many cars are going to Bjervik, not so much to Kiruna.

Just walking by the street with backpacks for a hike and raising the thumb. First car stopped an took us. A guy and a girl with hiking backpacks

Three people stopped here for us, heading to Oslo and Vestby, then we found someone going to Nordby. Good spot to stop and hop in the car aswell.

A great spot for Narvik. Almost all the traffic goes to the ferry, and if not, they can bring you closer to it. After about 20-25 minutes, a Tesla pulled over at a safe spot and took me all the way to Narvik.

The cars are pretty fast, but you can be seen from a distance, and there is a space to pull over safely. I was dropped off by my ride and found another within a few minutes, but would not bother to get dropped off here, and found a rather different spot. I got picked up by a nice couple who took me to a better spot in the nearby town.

The gas station isn't open 24 hours a day, and I woke up pretty early (I slept under the nearby bridge; it felt pretty safe and decent). So thumbing with a sign was my best option. I hitched a van going all the way to Fauske. There is a space to stop, and cars are slow. Overall, nice spot.

An awesome spot. It's in the town, so the cars are slow, you can be seen from a distance, and there is a bus stop to pull over directly on the highway. Maybe it's even worth it to write something further north. Especially in the tourist season, there are a lot of long-range rides.

Decent spot, great visibility, not so fast cars, big spot to pull over. Try to get at least a ride to the city, and find a better ride there.

Lot of traffic is Norwegian border shoppers going but to Norway, took longer to find a ride south. Got a lovely trucker after 45 mins though

A sign saying OSLO, a guy told me that he would take me closer to the border. There wasn't much space to stop, and overall, this place didn't feel safe, but it worked out pretty well. Maybe it's better to ask around the shopping center, there were plenty of Norwegian plates there. If going to Norway, this is the best place to resupply for reasonable prices. I met two hitchhikers from Poland here, and they advised me to go to BILTEMA for 5kr hotdogs, which was one of the greatest pieces of advice I've ever gotten on the road.

Cars go very fast, but if they want to stop, they can. There is a SOS spot so it is good. So far, Norway seems better than Sweden for hitchhiking. 2 guys + sign Hønefoss

Best place in Ii i reckon. For north at least. Only one lane forward and there is lights in front of the bus stop so the cars go slow (no roof on the stop though). There are many people from Oulu going to Tornio at all times of the year but idk about how good it would be at night. This is also in the Bible belt of Finland so there is higher likelihood of running into a gooder person who picks you up. Also many Norwegian tourists in the summer who could take you straight to kilpisjärvi or norway

We tried hitching at the gas station, on the bus stop on the way to the .2 ramp, however nobody stopped. A lot of traffic, but a really big place - can get chaotic to choose a spot to go from. (We had norway on our sign)

Mostly tourist going to Norway so eother full cars or campers who dont take people. We waited almost two hours after a nice girl took us to Kiruna.

We asked at the gas station for an hour if anybody is going north but nobody took us. It was evening and there were a looooot of people coming back from Norway. After taht we just stood on a road and after 40 mins a guy took us to Overkalix.

Amazing spot to get to Norway. Got here with a bus from Grebbestad on a satuday morning. At 7am we picked tons of raspberries, at 8am the Willis opened, allowing us to shop for food more cheap before norway. Stood at the little island after the roundabout with NORGE sign.

Best way to get back to mainland Norway

Good spot, many more people going North / to Norway, but still got a lift to Karlskoga

A better hitchhiking spot probably doesn’t exist. It’s the entrance to the road that connects north to south Sweden. Tourists, locals, workers, really anyone going to Sweden has to take this E4 road. Stick your thumb out, or make sign if you really want to be specific, because this will help you get far into Sweden, wherever it may be. It might even be better if you take this road if you are planning to go to Kiruna or/and Norway, since the road from Töre has more traffic then the ones in Finland and the Swedish road next to the Torneå river. ==> highly recommend!

The place itself looks ok, but the people here are rude as hell. There were some guys who stopped and started to ask me to pay, and when I said no they started laughing. Anyways, avoid to get stuck in this part of Norway.

The spot seems decent, with many relatively slow cars from roundabout, but i judged wrong and it was uncomfortable. Guy was driving north but decided in lillehammer to call a girl he knows to hook up 🤣 I think this spot is too far south in norway to get a decent ride from people pulling fully off the road into just a rest stop.

Picked up by a guy who had walked from Italy to Norway, as well as the entire length of Chile. He invited me over for breakfast. Thank you Ivan :)

Here you have a bus stop with a roof if needed You also have a K-market But so it's sad cause half of the cars stops at this supermarket I waited for a long time, this road is not easy to hitchhack, but an Estonian guy took me all the way to Norway's coast!
