Thursday evening, summer. Norwegian couple took us that was returning from a 2-day hike. Before that, got a ride offer to tyssedal.

not many cars going, mostly locals

lonnnnng spot ahahah a lot of traffic but not that much of ppl going to sweden (like stockholm) if ur trying to get to stockholm you’ll have to be very patient, most of the people take the train or plane to get there hopefully a guy arrived 2h after under rain and dropped me to arjang (100km from oslo) good luck but the spot if perfect, a lot of space for cars to stop 😺

we got tickets for a train 2 hours later since for students they're refundable and it didn't look like many cars were passing by, they go sold out really fast so be careful. We were two males, one standing at the crosswalk and the other speaking to the cars that stop. I think both directions are for oslo actually, the main road is reached by going west. I don't know if that's a better spot but there you're getting more cars for sure so maybe check it out if you aren't being too lucky. Many rides for Bergen, not many for Oslo. We got to Gol since it's a stop for the F4 train to oslo. Do not get stuck in smaller towns as it'll be very hard to get out I think

quite a few cars passing (middle of july) so it was fairly easy

not the best ever to get out of the city but it works after 1h30 luckily there was that country festival so there were a lot of ppl > recommend to place yourself after the gas station (specifically on the spot that i have add), if u want to get to oslo ! i finally found a direct ride but you also need to have a sign, cars gets a bit faster but there are place for them to stop good luck 😌

nice spot to get out of odda for oslo for e.g. i got took in 25 min on a friday morning (8am) during summer fully recommend it there are a lot of place to stop for cars (the spot is on a bus stop) good luck then😊

perfect spot to gets to odda from trolltunga! just wait at the end of the parking when cars get out of it, they can’t missed u !! use a ‘odda’ sign and got taken in 30minutes (not a lot of traffic, it’s perfect at the end of the afternoon like 5pm, be patient they are 100% passing through odda after) good luckkk🤠🤠

really nice spot to get to trolltunga parking! place yourself at the bus stop and be patient, not a lot of traffic but all of them gets to trolltunga 🧌 takes me 10min on a july afternoon good luck !!!

insane spot to get to odda/bergen/trolltunga during summer ! a lot of cars passing and full place to stop (there are getting slowly cuz it’s just after the rounabout) got dropped to odda in 25min by a camping car yeahh !! good luck 🤗

really nice spot to get to bergen !! i think it’s the easiest way to get out of oslo for bergen! (take the 200 bus in oslo) place yourself at the pedestrian crossing and use a sign ‘bergen’ for both ways i got taken to geilo (at the middle of oslo and bergen) in 20min a wednesday at 1pm on july! good luck😌😌😌

Didnt expect much from this spot. Cars go pretty fast and dont see you that good ig. But got lucky and got ride straight to Abisko. And the last two hours I even got to drive because the driver was tired :DDD.

A lot of space to stop and drivers see you from a far so good spot. Got picked up by the car with a motor home so thats nice. It was very nice swiss couple.

Just Lofoten magic got picked super fast in random spot. Got drivem almost to the guys house. Not the best spot because a bit akward to stop.

It seemed like a good spot but it took a bit longer than usual for Lofoten to stop. It seemed that most of the cars shoudl drive pretty far from here but due to miscommunication I only got couple kilometres. Probably would have waited for better ride maybe but in Lofoten it doesnt really matter. But I would say the best stop to leave Svolvear towards mainland

Good visibility in bus stop. Got a ride to Svolvear fast by the local guy.

We waited closer to roundabout but there was very little place to stop so we moved a bit further and the first car stopped and took us to Svolvear. It was pretty late so not a lot of traffic.

We tried hitching at the gas station, on the bus stop on the way to the .2 ramp, however nobody stopped. A lot of traffic, but a really big place - can get chaotic to choose a spot to go from. (We had norway on our sign)

Mostly tourist going to Norway so eother full cars or campers who dont take people. We waited almost two hours after a nice girl took us to Kiruna.

We asked at the gas station for an hour if anybody is going north but nobody took us. It was evening and there were a looooot of people coming back from Norway. After taht we just stood on a road and after 40 mins a guy took us to Overkalix.

Amazing spot to get to Norway. Got here with a bus from Grebbestad on a satuday morning. At 7am we picked tons of raspberries, at 8am the Willis opened, allowing us to shop for food more cheap before norway. Stood at the little island after the roundabout with NORGE sign.

Best way to get back to mainland Norway

Good spot, many more people going North / to Norway, but still got a lift to Karlskoga

The place itself looks ok, but the people here are rude as hell. There were some guys who stopped and started to ask me to pay, and when I said no they started laughing. Anyways, avoid to get stuck in this part of Norway.

The spot seems decent, with many relatively slow cars from roundabout, but i judged wrong and it was uncomfortable. Guy was driving north but decided in lillehammer to call a girl he knows to hook up 🤣 I think this spot is too far south in norway to get a decent ride from people pulling fully off the road into just a rest stop.

Picked up by a guy who had walked from Italy to Norway, as well as the entire length of Chile. He invited me over for breakfast. Thank you Ivan :)

Here you have a bus stop with a roof if needed You also have a K-market But so it's sad cause half of the cars stops at this supermarket I waited for a long time, this road is not easy to hitchhack, but an Estonian guy took me all the way to Norway's coast!

good spot cars are very slow here and after couple of minutes I catch car to Otta with guy from Norway

got a short ride to the next gas station/rest area. There is much traffic to Norway there.

Male, Sunday evening in summer, going south to Sweden. Mostly local traffic, but this is a place where people pass from Norway/Finland driving down to Sweden. Also a gasstation and a store nearby. Didn't need to camp because an elderly couple took me late in the evening to Sweden, but I think there is plenty of opportunities to camp in the forest.

Waited for drivers leaving the parking area of the supermarket. They're almost all going down to Norway (hh in August 2025)

i think i just got unlucky - i was stuck here for almost 2 hours when in theory it should be a perfect spot. eventually i was saved and hitched a car to Norway. i reccomend a sign, because after a few kms the road splits in two.
