if you are stranded in the area, then this place could help, not a lot of people as of right now, but should be bigger in the future, as the highway is built got a ride to Wroclaw quite fast, people would probably stop just not to let you starve here lol

Probably best to wait here for an international ride, this is best and last real chance you’re going to get. Plenty of truck drivers to ask and a solid amount of LT/LV cars. All just depends on luck and patience.

Low traffic, ask around the McDonald’s parking lot or gas station. Got a ride to the next gas station from a truck driver. The gas stations before Wyskow and Lomza are both better than this one, so favor those when traveling this route

Lot's of people going to lodz and a lot also to poznan, to wroclaw is harder but possible, about 5-10 cars an hour come in, who go there

I accepted a ride to the next gas station because the guy way really nice, but this is definitely better than the gas station past OSTROW in terms of LV and LT license plates. So perhaps wait a little longer here to get the ride you want.

This is a good spot but it is a bit demoralizing to wait at as no one really seems to care about you at all lol. With sign OSTROW finally got on the freeway, more straightforward from there. I agree that perhaps it is best to put a shorter destination, on the freeway it is easy to build momentum

2 males waited for a bit but got picked up by a guy mid 50s left us near the metro, he told us it wasnt a good spot because it was hard for the cars to stop

Traffic was ok, people often stop to say they can take us to Lodz but was harder to get until Poznan.

A car took us to Lodz in 5 minutes (we asked for Lodz or Poznan)

Even though this was a quick ride for me, you can likely find a better spot. There is a large truck parking lot and a McDonald's drive-through; many people use it, so that might be a good opportunity. Also, there is free Wi-Fi at the nearby McDonald's.

Ok, this is not your typical gas station/spot, but I changed cars here and thought it might help somebody. If you do not need to go here, do not go here, but if you are here in the middle of nowhere, this might be helpful. Here are quite a few trucks going in almost all directions.

Not a bad spot. A truck leaving the parking lot across the road from Lidl waved at me and got me to a gas station, where I switched cars with one of his friends. I think you might be able to get a ride to Augustów from here relatively quickly.

To be honest, from my experience, Szczuczyn is not a great place for a hitchhiker. Multiple roads go in the same direction from here, and cars split. I wanted to reach Suwałki, so it might have been better to take the highway rather than a local ride to Grajewo. If going from the south and able to do so, avoid Szczuczyn and Grajewo at all.

We had a hard time finding a ride toward Poland on a Sunday. Two people (male and female) very few car. We asked directly to people in the petrol station, lot of them said no. Eventually one couple changed opinion and took us to the next city. Maybe we had bad luck because of Sunday, controls at the border....

I wanted to go to Heidelberg. It was already dark and it was Saturday... A group of several polish truck drivers were sleeping there until Monday, going back to Poland. Asked around for about 1.5 hours, almost no traffic, so I decided to settle for a ride to Karlsruhe and catching a train to Heidelberg. The spot should be good, but my timing and luck were bad.

Decent spot, I don't think you can do much better in the Poland direction.

I needed to get out of Liberec in the direction of Jablonec / Poland. I asked around here, and one guy brought me to a much better spot near Jablonec.

While heading to Ireland, a family heading home from Poland took me with them for a night in their van and even offered me a night in their guest room.

Great spot for reaching Poland. I only got a ride to the border but to Krakow should be very possible.

The service station was reasonably busy at 10am on a Thursday. I stood at the exit. Was trying to go to Warsaw from Kosice. Not sure if the highway route is better than taking the regional roads through Lublin but I decided to see. Quite quickly found a ride to Ruzomberok and onto the E77 into Poland.

It rained quite heavily, so I found shelter nearby Vynoteka. A lot of people going to Lithuania buy cheap alcohol in Poland's border, and I believe this is one of the last alcohol stores in the north.

A lot of cars (most of them to Bauska and riga) and trucks (frequently to Tallin and poland). I caught a nice man who went to Ukraine, and left me in warsaw. One of the best spot Nearby riga

I was waiting at this place with the sign: Suwalki, there is a good place for stopping because there is a stop for trucks with carwash, restaurant, gas station. It was in the morning Sunday and there was not so much cars but after 20 min, one driver saw me and my sign and he stopped, I said that I go to Poland, he said that he go to Warsaw and I said that I need only to the ELK city and we went well.

I hitchhiked there in the morning, there wasnt a lot of traffic, I guess its better to get onto the bigger gas station further on the highway, but it is easy to get there from Frankfurt (you have to jump over the fence tho) and there are some cars going to Berlin/Poland

Great spot on the bus stop. Enough place for truck to stop. Perfect place to go north to Banska Bystrica or Poland.

Traffic mostly local. Held up a sign to Poland and all drivers shrugged that they're not going there. But at 5PM on a wednesday it didn't take long until I got a car towards the border. Gas station employees gave me a piece of cardboard for the sign and were very nice. :)

Pretty nice restaurant, and lot of cars going to Poland.

In theory, it was a great place – a hostel, a gas station, and a place to buy vignettes for TIRs (entry and exit from the same side), but we came across a little traffic. It was getting late, so after almost an hour, we decided we'd be done in 10 minutes and were going to sleep here at the hostel. We were about to head back when a couple from Poland on their way to Montenegro stopped by. We got to Zvolen SK with them.
