In the begging I had a sign „Ostrow“ and „Suwalki“ after that - „LT•LV•EST“ and I get a ride. I was almost about to give up. Get to that spot as early as possible, guys

I was eating at the gas station and my sign "Warsaw" was leaning against my backpack. Then a woman came up to me and asked if I wanted to go with them to Warsaw. Unbelievable! I didn't finish my meal, but it was worth it.

I was catching at 8pm and still there was high traffic, and a guy took me after 5 min, but unluckly he told me in a car, that he s going only few km so it was not worth for me

Bus stop in a village. Wanted to go to Konin, but got quite bad luck, low traffic on sunday morning, most traffic local I guess, so I waited 120 minutes and got lift to Zbiersk (cca 20 km northern).

Great spot, bus stop in a village, cars go slow and can notice you well. Most of them go to Ostrów I think. Got ride to Ostrów in 20 minutes.

Lot of space next to the road, cars go slow, got ride in 5 minutes to Daniszyn. I also think people take hitchikers in this area quite often.

Good gas station with kfc, probably better around lunch time

we where trying to catch a ride to szczecin and most of the people at least at normal day 3pm where heading to koszalin so maybe in that direction would be so difficult

Theoretically good spot, bus stop behind a roundabout, so cars go slow, but traffic is low. Got ride to Nidzica (kind of random, but relatively in my direction) in 120 minutes. Going from Toruń to Olsztyn was quite hard, always waited long time on this road (cca 105, 215 and 120 minutes).

Maybe I had bad luck, Theoretically good spot, bus stop in a village behind crossroad, so most of cars go straight in direction to Brodnica and they go slow and have space to stop, but still waited nearly 4 hours to get a ride to a village 20 km far. Traffic isn't low, but still mostly local (not going to Olsztyn or Brodnica).

Bus stop, but not really good spot to go to Olsztyn, heavy traffic in morning, but mostly local traffic. After trying an hour in Grebocin nad Struga moved there, and got ride to Kowalewo Pomorskie in 45 minutes, so not really good.

Quite good spot, cars don't go too fast and can notice you well, got ride to Toruń in 40 minutes.

One male 40+, one big backpack, with a sign, cloudy. On my way from Lwów (Ukraine) to Wrocław (Poland), about 590 kms (successful). I was dropped here by a previous driver. I went to the beginning of the queueing cars. With a sign "KRK" (short for Kraków) in my hand I started walking along the queue asking some drivers. After a 7-minute walk a couple agreed to take me. Since it wasn't the beginning of the queue I had to wait some time. It took us 3h15min to cross both (UKR/PL) checkposts. The couple was going to Opole. They dropped me on the last petrol station before they exited the highway. Which was a good decision.

A parking for some eating places. I was standing on a gravel bay just before it. Plenty of space to pull over. Decent visibility. After 10 minutes I got a ride to the border.

A very good visibility. It was only 5 minutes wait. A military (in a private car) took me less than 10 kms. He was going only to Jaworów. But he was kind enough and he dropped me in a nice spot a bit after that town.

It's an extra lane for entry and exit to various places like a petrol station etc. There is a bus stop at the end of it. Good visibility. Steady flow of cars. For the first half an hour I was standing with a sign "PL". Then I thought it could scare the short rides and the second half and hour I used only a thumb. I don't know why this place took so long. The place looks really good. But the other 3 rides before the border plus one at the border never took longer than 10 minutes. And here I waited one hour.

Really good spot for Poland. But have sign. A lot space to stop and cars go slow. And you get rid of most of the local traffic by now. Got a ride to nowy targ. And also accept ride only to there because rides stopping before is suicide as there is just one huge not ending town of tourist house which goes for kilometres which i can imagine is not the most fun place to hitchhike out

Just dont get off here cars go super fast and not a lot of traffic. But some tourists picked me of going from a side road to the cave so perfect for me as i was going to poland. I was pretty desperate because it was really shit spot as cars going from kezmarok were going super fast and there was no chance to stop them and no cars where going north from the side road only this one tourist one.

Really mice spot but dont accept any ride not going to rakusy because you will be stranded as i was. And it was not nice. I think its better to go from here towards poland not from spiska bela.

Busy gas station even late in the vening. I was trying to go to poland from here and didnt know which route should i take. Trough rzeszow or krakow but some nice guys where going to banska bystryca so i just decided going to poprad. More progress in the day because it didnt seem that anyone would go to poland at that time of the day. But in hindsight there would be maybe more polish traffic going to rzeszow but idk. I only tried krakow route.

Quite good spot to HH to Poland, gravel place in front of a house, some space to stop, but not too much. But probably better than a bus stop, bc the stop is in a curve and drivers cant see yoi well. Cars go slow, mostly to Poland I think. Got ride to Lubawka on 25 minutes.

Many people going to Poland, we wanted to go to the Czeck republic. Eventually a car took us to a rest station on the highway to Prague which was better.

Just dont go here. The fuel prices were kreizi and literally almost zero cars in the gas station and noone was going to poland from here. Most were czechia direction. But we found one car that was goign to Poznan and took us. We were about to start to go around to Berlin south and cross the highway there and go from there to Poland

Good spot to go to Poland, but also quite a lot of local traffic, got rie to Bernartice in 20 minutes. Enough place to stop on gravel places next to the road.

A lot of tourists going back to Poland, Slovakia, Czechia and Austria. Lot of space for cars to stop. Also the gas station that is close has very nice staff. They gave me cardboard and a marker to write my sign.

One male 40+, one big backpack, a sunny day. On my way from Căpușu Mare to Valea Drăganului. The district at the end of the town is a gypsy neighborhood. That spot looked ok on the map, but in the reality it wasn't. But there is no much other choice. I walked out the town hoping to find some kind of bay there (there was a junction and a petrol station across, both good indicators to find one). But there wasn't any. So, very little space to stop. Good visibility. Cars going fast. I wasn't happy with the location and I was thinking were to move instead. Luckly for me after 10 minutes a guy stopped and gave me a lift to my destination. He used the petrol station across the road to pull over. "Where there is a will, there is a way", right? I met him 2 weeks too soon. Coz he was driving all the way to Poland (I'm going there in two weeks time) and he was hoping to have a company all the way. Well, after 20 kms I was off.

First Car stopped and brought be to Poland. Probably could have waited a bit longer to find a better ride all the way to Krakow

Context: hitchhiking as a trio. Good spot to catch 99% of the cars leaving the service area. Works for most of service areas in Poland.

A sign saying OSLO, a guy told me that he would take me closer to the border. There wasn't much space to stop, and overall, this place didn't feel safe, but it worked out pretty well. Maybe it's better to ask around the shopping center, there were plenty of Norwegian plates there. If going to Norway, this is the best place to resupply for reasonable prices. I met two hitchhikers from Poland here, and they advised me to go to BILTEMA for 5kr hotdogs, which was one of the greatest pieces of advice I've ever gotten on the road.

golden gas station for going north (Austria, Slovakia, Czechia, Poland), many cars of various nationalities, after asking around a couple took us all the way to Znojmo (close to Brno, CZ), definitely recommend

Heading towards Poland with sign PL. Good place with decent amount of cars but mostly local traffic so you might have to wait a while but a car should stop eventually. The person who picked me up was going to Lublin. I ended up leaving him at Suwalki.
