4 days ago I hitchhiked somewhere here, not sure it is exactly location, but this roud definitely. I was in rush and somehow it worked. A women from Portugal was offering me a ride cca 10 km which was perfectly fine, after that I found immediately drive to Viana do Castelo

This spot is really nice, u got cars from both ways but cars who wanna take a right turn need to hold, so perfect.

Good spot, there is a stop sing so they need to stop and if the spot doesn’t work u can also just go to the gas station close by but I preferred the stop sing

Had a ride to Lisbonne very easily, by asking to people directly

Difficult spot, lots of local traffic and people not stopping, tried with Spain, A2, Evora, Badajoz... Even próxima área de serviço, just to get on the move to a better spot, but didn't work either. At the end I srarted talking with a very nice trucker that happened to go same way as me and could drop me in Mérida.

As the gas station was impossible to reach by walking, I started to hitchhike here. It's an illegal spot but it works, a lady dropped me to the gas station where it's easy to find a ride for the south

Minha primeira carona em Portugal foi de um Curitibano, Gente boa. Valeu Biigaduu.

Uma família internacional muito divertida me deu carona até mais a frente. Fiquei na saída do posto entre a saída do posto e da estrada.

Uma moça da Eslováquia me deu carona até ali.

Uma das caronas mais top. Vanessa de Sampa, me levou pra Praia da Pera, tomamos um vinho, turistamos e depois me deixou no Galp, me deu uns pães também.

Duas garotas brasileiras me deram carona, a Nathalia de Bh e outra moça de São Luís do Maranhão. Muito gente boa.

Vítor deu carona até aqui depois que as brasileiras me neste lugar que é um pouco ruim, mas deu bom.

Um pouco difícil, mas era dia então deu certo. Carona boa até O mercado com o Mestre Nelson.

haven't seen a single police officer. i stood right next to money exchange building, was stopping 2 lanes at once with both thumbs. SIGN would help a ton! also going to portugal btw :)

From my experience not the best spot in my life. I had sign "Portugal" and "Tui". Most of the cars are locals, I would say 90%. 2-3 cars stop and offered me a ride 10-15 km. At the end I accept ride to Vilagarcia. It wasn't good idea

be fast and discreet to get to the spot at the money exchange building. I wasn't (waving at the cars on my way there), and a Swiss police dude came to say it was forbidden to hitchhike there ('cause supposedly its a highway), and that I had no choice but to walk away to the nearest town (where I d be screwd, since I wanted to stick to the highway on my way to Portugal). luckily, I asked the truck drivers waiting at the douane park, and one took me. even if people don't go further than Annecy, take a ride to the nearby rest station Aire des Pont-de-la-caille (there is no gas station until Annecy), where it should be easy to find people going further.

Usei uma plaquinha de 2 km, como em Portugal é fácil pegar carona vale a pena pegar umas caronas curtas pra te deixar em um lugar melhor, e o país também é bonito, bom demais ir devagarinho.

O espanho Juan me deu uma carona muito massa e me contou mil histórias de portugal e espanha e como ele tá viajando no seu motorhome improvisado num furgão.

Estava buscando ir mais para o norte ao mesmo tempo em que curtia um pouco as praias. Nisto tentei direção Odemira, mas não havia bom lugar para parar e via muitos carros tomando a outra pista, decidi então ir por ali e foi sucesso, conhecia Trace uma Britânica vivendo em Portugal louca pra voltar pra Inglaterra pra rever a família, ela lutava contra uma doença a época, mas parecia feliz, espero que tenha superado a questão. Me ofereceu um jantar e um suco e depois me levou pra esta praia paradisíaca pra acampar, mas senti de seguir a viagem.

a big rest area with gas station and hotel restaurant. a spanish trucker on the way to mercadona logistics hub in sevilla picked me up. there i waited for him to park the truck and continue the ride in his car. on the way home he dropped me where i needed on my way to portugal. muchas gracias

To go towards Madrid/Andalusia: You reach this spot by the public „metrobus“ 430A from Valencia. Its not the red city busses but the yellow metrobus. It starts from the main bus station but dont try to catch it there because noone knows where it departs. We caught it one spot down from there and it came by the time stated on google maps. Its like 3€. The spot itself is not great but okay. There are people going to Valencia or other local towns (many), some to Madrid and quite a few to Andalusia/Sevilla/Portugal. Many cars are full. We arrived at 20:00 and tried for 2 hours and got close to a lift to madrid multiple times. We went to sleep in a field nearby which was perfect. Next day it took us another 2 hours to go to another service station 1 1/2 hours towards spain. I don't know if we just got unlucky but I think its just spain. Many people are shocked when you ask them for a lift.

Essa praia é top demais, cê tá louco, praia do Malhão, muito linda, recomendo. Um casal de argentinos que passam temporada em Portugal me levaram até Sines.

Essa foi a mais rápida e certeira do dia, um casal muito bacana, ela portuguesa e ele inglês, me levaram até próximo ao centro do porto. Posto muito bom pra caronar. Chegando ali fui de encontro ao meu amigo Gabriel, na verdade Luana, a amiga caroneira, encontrei em Lisboa, foi mal. Gabrielzão ciclo viajante. E daí começou o drama de saber como ir barato a Eslováquia pra voluntariar com o I@E e também onde deixar a mochila que o Andrew me deu na África do sul. Acabei voltando a Lisboa e deixei a mochila com a amiga angola Magdalena, como não consegui voltar a Portugal desde então, minha amiga Anki, que foi faze residência artística, levou pra mim de volta ao Br. Obrigado a todos.

A primeira placa que usei na saída de Lisboa foi Santarém e peguei uma com uns caras que iam até Torres, foi muito boa e estratégica, porque depois deste pedágio usei uma placa indicando pra Leila, e antes desta cidade tem esse excelente posto de gasolina pra pegar pra Porto. Peguei carona com um caminhoneiro ucraniano indo até Figueira da voz, e por mais que eu quisesse conhecer mais Portugal e enrolar um pouco mais, tinha poucos dias até meu voluntariado no congresso universal de esperanto. E minha amiga caroneira Luana estava esperando por mim em Lisboa. Um dia eu volto a Portugal, quem sabe. E o caminhoneiro também me deu uma "coca zero vegana". Bebi. Sorry.

Viajando pro norte de Portugal pela primeiríssima vez, Já vinha do sul e percebi que Portugal é bem melhor que Espanha. Preferi não perguntar muito no posto por ser brasileiro e saber que algumas pessoas têm preconceito e não tenho tempo e energia pra drama. Li bastante aqui os comentários de geral e decidi por este ponto. Funcionou bem. Parou um motorhome com 4 malucos indo prum festival eletrônico em Torres. Me deram frutas gostosas e fizemos muitas piadas, foi top, paizão. E claro, peguei a manha de não aceitar carona pros lugares ruins, Ou, a dizer, boleia.

03/26 2x2 male hitchhikers We hitchhiked in 2 groups of 2, one group got a ride to alcacer do sal in 5 minutes the other group needed 90 minutes. Overall big station with an mcdonalds, loads of traffic for portugal.

Me, my LOVE and our dog were here for quite a long time and were prepared to sleep in the Forrest for the night. However at the most unexpected time a car stopped and took us to La Junquera even though we had a sign with Perpignan. But since on the way and our destination is Portugal we took it! Lucky us since we are two with backpacks and a dog……:)

Got a ride into Portugal after not too long. Mabye the people who pass through here won’t be going super far into Portugal, but it will get you into the country.
