Best spot to catch a car to south. Many cars, crowded road amd a lot of place for cars to stop.

Very friendly guy took us all the way down to Cluj

Idk if this is a best spot in the town but for sure you must go to this town if you are going west to Hungary or Oradea until the highway is not yet built. A lot of Hungarian license plates but finally a guy stoped for me who was going to Frankfurt. Sadly i was going to east slovakia so got off just after debrecen. Would have been really nice progress if i was going to germany. Really nice guy tho. Stood with oradea sign. Tho one trucker going the other direction shouted at me in some language and pounted to go more in the town or was trying to say that it was not the best spit but it worked in the end. But holy its a fucking long ride to Oradea form here trough all the villages

It was nice spot to hitchhike north. It felt a bit weird to stand before a roundabout as you usually satnd after. But here was a lot of space to stop and most of traffic was going on the highway north. But idk if i would recommend to come here all the way from the center because its not very nice to get here. And also if you are walking here take the left side of a bridge over the hoghway. But if you are coming from town just find some other nice place and stand with a sign. There shoudl be a lot of traffic to Cluj

From google maps it seemed atleats half of the coty should go trough this road to go on the highway west. I had a sign A1 and first the guy just wanted to take me to the highway but I declined and then a bit later one guy stopped and took me all the way to alba iulia and went a bit out of the way to get me to the better spot to Cluj because i was going there. He was very generous guy but he told me a lot about religion but it was fine. He was really nice guy.

We waited here for 3 hours but we were not trying to go somehwere really. We were 4 and basically we were just waiting for a train because it was pretty late evning. Also maybe it woudl be nicer to stand at the end of the town not in the middle of it. But there is a looooot of space to stop. But eventually somebody stopped and took was going to sibiu so we just agreed and went there because we didnt have any plan

Would say very nice spot. There is just about enough space for cars to stop after the roundabout and they go slow. Guy stopped for us and took us to just where we needed. And from what i gathered most of the traffic is going to Petrosani direction

Wouldnt say its a great spot because there is spot to stop but its not very visible. But we got lucky because a guy picked us pretty fast but we only needed to go to the next roundabout because we were trying to go south. Also two lanes of traffic so most of the cars cant stop

We were two so one person was asking at gas station and one stading at the entrance thumbing. And noone wanted to take us until one guy stopped for us and was going to hunedoara.

It didnt seem like a super bad spot but we didnt want to stand on the bus stop because we would only catch half of the traffic so we stood just after intersection but noone stoped for us for a bit and we were really short on time so we just decided to walk to the next gas station. And it seemed like atleast half of the traffic was local

There was really no traffic in the evening going over the mountain. So we felt we might get stranded but eventually when we started not care if we get somethign or no a van stopped for us going to hunedoara. And we just needed to get to Brad so thats nice.

I woud not say its the best space to stand because sometimes this spot can have parked cars which is blocking space for you. But all the locals say this is the spot so trust them. Most of the cars go low speed because of intersection so not that bad ig

It was very weird place to stand because we didnt know that is was a bus station and it didnt look like one. But at some moment just a lot of people spawned around us to take the bus so we could hitchhike but we waited out and stood with a sign to Stei and a bit kreizi romanian lady picked us up to there. There is also a shade here

Good spot. Slow traffic because of the town and it is a bus stop. Stood first with a thumb noone stopped and then we made a sogn beuis and got a ride instantly. But the ride wanted money afterwards so it was a bit akward but we couldnt pay.... So always say Fara bani(no money) when entering the car in romania. Also make a sign

Not really agood gas station. Mostly local low traffic. Probably would recommend just stading with a sogn at the roundabout before because there is plenty of space to stop and everyone is going that direction. Yeah also big recommendation is to have a sign in romania. People prefer that. And always say Fara bani?(No money?) Because they might ask for money after

Went there to catch the morning work traffic and trucks. Was trying to go in Romania direction but as most of the cars are going towards Budapest we just decided to go to the next gas station towars there and cross the highway. It worked pretty well as we founf a ride towards debrecen pretty easy.

And it was straight to my destination. After 5 short rides that day in Ukraine, I got a decent one. I got dropped just around the corner by the previous driver and I decided to keep walking. I walked less than 10 minutes, hitchhiking along the way, when a woman stopped (btw. many women pickedme that day) here and she took me to Ivano-Frankivsk. Actually she was bypassing it, so she dropped me in the outskirts of the city and I walked the remaining a few kilometres.

I was dropped in the centre of the town. I walked out of it and I started hitchhiking while still walking. After 7 minutes and less than a kilometer walk I got another short lift from a woman (many women picking me that day). 2 kilometres. Yes, two. It shows that people are very helpful here but they don't travel far.

I was dropped in the previous village and I started hitchhiking whilewalking up north. The traffic wasn't busy. After half an hour (2,5 kms walk), when I was passing through this village a driver stopped and gave me 15 kms ride. The 4th short ride in Ukraine that day.

After two short rides in Ukraine that day, the 3rd one came. I was dropped by the previous driver 700 m west of this spot. I started walking and hitchhiking and here another driver stopped and gave me 14 kilometres ride.

I got dropped in the village centre, after a short ride. Straight away I got checked by a police patrol. I started walking. I walk 2,5 kms. During that walk I was checked again by a military patrol (it sucks to be a man in Ukraine now). The last less than 10 minutes I hitchhiked while walking. At this spot a woman stopped and offered me a ride. She said she wasn't going far. But I was surprised when after less than one kilometer (yes, one) she said "That's it". So, I got off and carried on walking waiting for another short ride.

A really good spot. A wide exit from the petrol station gives plenty of room to pull over. Good visibility. There is shade. Not very busy traffic. After 20 minutes a guy stopped and offered his "taxi service". I passed. Then I got blocked by a herd of cows, which surrounded me for almost 10 minutes. After 40 minutes one guy stopped, but he was going only to the next village. I passed. I should have taken that ride, coz 30 minutes later a woman stopped and offered me the same ride. This time I took it and I started a village to a village jumping (a series of short rides).

It was my last hitchhiking in Romania, during that trip, and I couldn't imagine a more perfect "goodbye". My previous driver dropped me at this petrol station. A nice place. Good visibility, shade and room to pull over. I walked to the road, I didn't even have time to drop my backpack coz the first car was coming. I put my thumb up and I was on my way to Sighetu Marmației.

Still urban, but I guess it's the case for quite a few kms, so I stopped here. Plenty of space to pull over. No shade. I had really good visibility. The driver a bit less, coz the sun was still low and it was shining straight in their eyes. Busy morning traffic. After 15 minutes the first car stopped but it wasn't going my way. 10 minutes later another guy stopped and he dropped me 20 kms before Sighetu Marmației.

One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a sunny day. On my way from Bălți to Iaşi in Romania (successful). The place is really good. There is a gravel bay to stop. Good visibility. Car don't go too fast due to the roundabout. Unfortunately no shade. After six minutes I got my first ride to Fălești, which was pretty good beginning. The things slowed down after that ride.

One man, one woman. Most people are going to Romania from there but we got pretty lucky and got a ride to Serbia quickly. Just ask around and I guess you will find someone. Look out for Serbian license plates

We were 2 guys. We waited the day before during night unsuccesfuly. A relevant fact could be that shortly before the driver stopped we were joined by 2 women hitchhikers. A truck stopped for us that eventually took the girls, because at the same time another car stopped. Both cars took us all the way to Romania.

One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a sunny day. On my way from Moinești in Romania to Chisinau in Moldova (successful). I got a long ride from Romania. Unfortunately the driver wasn't going all the way to Chisinau and he dropped here, 15 kms before the capital. I was a bit in a pickle, coz I didn't have local money to pay for a public transport. And it was maybe the last 15 minutes before the sunset. So it looked like a long way ahead of me. Lucky I got a ride in 5 minutes. There is a nice tarmac bay in front of a closed petrol station. The visibility is also very good.

A big tarmac bay (which I think is also a bus stop) after a roundabout. So cars go slowly, see you well and have place to stop. I was only surprised at a low level of traffic. I was hoping that when I join this Bukarest-Chisinau roads it'd be more busy. It was getting late, so I started thinking that I wouldn't make it to Chisinau that day. But after 30 minutes a guy stopped and it turned out that he was going to Chisinau. Well, almost to Chisinau.

One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a very sunny day. On my way from Moinești in Romania to Chisinau in Moldova (successful). Quite o'right place. Still a bit too urban, and there isn't a proper bay to stop but it's the end of a double lane. Almost all drivers join the other lane before, so the ending one is almost all the time empty and cars can stop. Very good visibility. Busy traffic. After 10 minutes I got a short, but very helpful (to the Bukarest - Chisinau road) ride to Crasna roundabout.

There is a huge gravel bay, with loads of space. Very good visibility. No shade, and it was a very hot day, so I was frying in this open space. Luckly not for long. After 10 minutes a guy took me to Vaslui. He was kind enough to do an extra mile and dropped me on the ride side of the town.

A ton of cars, but all full of families. It seems to be a great spot to head to Serbia and especially Romania, but maybe not in summer :(
