I guess it's only luck here But a lot of space for cars to stop I got a ride to Belgrade

Just confirming that there isn't any problem with crossing this border on foot but still I recommend taking other way to Croatia because of low traffic here

Space for stopping is nice and you have good visibility but still getting a ride was quite hard here. Almost no one was stopping and most people weren't going far away but eventually I got a ride to the border but that's only because my driver drove me there even though he wasn't going all the way to border. Traffic to it is extremely low and I think that because of that going through this border isn't the best way to Croatia from Vukovar

Really good spot for Novi Sad. In around 10 minutes I got ride to fortress right next to Novi Sad (could have gone to the city itself but wanted to visit it first)

It was very hard for me to get any ride from here. A lot of license plates from Belgrade, Hungary, Germany etc but no one was stopping. During all that time I got only one offer to go to Preshevo but it wasn't on my way. After almost 4 hours of waiting I got ride to Vranje

But the locals told us that this is the road people usually take when going to Belgrade. Still, one elderly man stopped and gave us a ride to Kruševac. It took us a really long time to get there because we had to take some very roundabout roads.

We got lucky — when we got out of the previous truck that had taken us to the border so we could cross it on foot, a driver in the queue for passport control (together with the cars) asked us if we were hitchhiking and offered us a ride. He was heading to Budapest, which was exactly on our way. I think it’ll be easy to hitch a ride after the border, because, like everywhere else, drivers might be a bit hesitant before the border. Although this guy did pick us up and take us all the way to passport control.

We (two girls) had just gotten out of our previous car and asked a lorry driver if he was going to the border. He said he was only going to the next village, so we agreed to go with him. But then he said, “To be honest, I’m actually going to the Czech Republic” (which is our final destination). So he dropped us off near the border, and we continued on foot. There was a long line of lorries at the border, and we didn’t see him again. By that point, it already felt like he wasn’t really keen on giving us a lift all the way, although he did help us a lot by getting us to the border.

Was okay spot, not too much traffic but some Bulgarian guys took me all the way to Sofia

After a few minutes of asking got a ride 150 km towards Niš, if you want to enter the station from outside like I did there is a little trail starting at 44.572519,20.648975 so no fences need to be climbed

A restaurant here (Limski Biseri) means there's some place for cars to stop and they're going rather slow anyway. Only one possible direction to go makes things easier too.

Theoretically looks fine as it's the biggest gas station around and traffic seems high, but for some reason it very problematic to find anyone going south. A little weird to work around with the cardboard as there's not much space and cars are moving rather fast.

Okay traffic, but weird topology - route is going upside down so it isn't easy to find a spot where you're safe, visible, and drivers have space to slow down to pick you up.

Good traffic, adequately to the road, and plenty of space for cars to stop.

I agree with the fuck ass spot comment, as there wasn’t much traffic, but we got a lift (in a taxi?!? For free!) Don to a station outside of Niš. Not much shade. Couldn’t see the tire :( Boy girl

Super good spot for getting out of Belgrade. We got the 461 bus and walked on the dirt roads next to the highway (few stray dogs that were territorial but not aggressive) and then climbed up where there was a small road underpass where there was no fence. Got scooped up and dropped halfway to Niš, you could probably wait until u get a car going all the way there Boy girl, sign for NIŠ

First of all. You can cross that border on foot but after crossing Serbian border control a car stopped here to ask me were am I going and they took me to Visegrad. Luck has returned to me I guess

There is some space for stopping but because of road closer and lack of transit traffic from Serbia getting to Osijek from Vukovar is now quite hard but I was able to get a ride towards road from border to Osijek. Still not the best place right now

We waited about 1.5h and then got a ride close the the Serbian border. Probably the best spot to get out of Budapest in direction of Serbia. Imo its better to stand at the entrance of the station than at the exit.

Space for stopping is quite big and there is nice place for sleeping near by close to a river (I tested it) but waiting times are high here. First, not many people are going from Serbia to Kosovo. Second, most of them aren't really willing to take you also one Kosovo Albanian stopped but he wanted money so I refused ride. After waiting for two hours on a day before, camping close to a river and then standing for another two hours the next day I got lucky with Kosovo Serb who took me to Serbian town of Gracanica south of Pristina. Over all if you want to hitchhike from Serbia to Kosovo it's doable but requires a lot of patience so maybe it's better to just go there through Macedonia or Montenegro instead but if you want to go like me than good luck, you will need it

One man, one woman. Most people are going to Romania from there but we got pretty lucky and got a ride to Serbia quickly. Just ask around and I guess you will find someone. Look out for Serbian license plates

Good Shade, Market and WiFi. Sign Nis/Sofia It can be a good spot to hitchhike but i think i just got quite unlucky since most cars were full. People were really nice and brought me water, energy drinks and good conversation so the wait was nice. I feel like sticking to tolls/rampas is more efficient in Serbia tho. (And dont get off at the station i got to) 1 Male

Nobody took us. Wanted to go to Serbia but only locals in Montenegro were somehow reacting. Nothing from Serbs.

Good spot for sofia but a lit of poeple juste stop by for gaz before going back to serbia so i guess u could always find a ways to everywere

Finding a car at this border checkpoint was not fun. You can easily cross the border on foot, even though it is a car-only checkpoint, just approach the booth, show them your passport, and you're set. But finding a car willing to take me anywhere was a complete pain in the ass, most of the drivers were not willing to stop because of the police presence. If they stop for the shops/toilets, they are usually packed with stuff, especially during the holiday season. But the Serbian cops are awesome. They did not bother me at all, and when they had a shift change (7 pm Serbian time), one of them asked me about my goal (he saw that I was stuck there for 5 hours) and stopped a car for me going all the way to Czechia. Maybe soliciting a ride in the queue between the Bulgarian and Serbian checkpoints would be easier, but you can't really do that once you enter Serbia.

good spot before A1 enter to Sofia sign, one man gave me a ride, wanted to continue to highway to Serbia, he thought he knows a better spot but left me on a very very wrong place on the other side of Sofia city

A ton of cars, but all full of families. It seems to be a great spot to head to Serbia and especially Romania, but maybe not in summer :(

We were stopping to Serbian border and not many people were going there, stop after the roundabout to filter the people not going to Serbia.

We were stopping to Belgrade and NOONE goes to Serbia, everyone is going to Romania. Otherwise good stopping spot. Good spot for spending time, spent the night in a small forest. Free WC.
