First I wait near the gas station, but this spot has many trucks stopping - after leaving the terminal they can easily see you. Entering the terminal is not permitted, but the border guard in the window helped me and asked some driver to take me. So (with his pause to sleep) I drive through all Serbia to Macedonia.

I echo the warnings of other hitchers: low traffic and, it seems, frequent police interference. I was dropped here with high hopes, the spot would be great, but there were police doing a traffic check and they shortly told me I had to leave or when their boss came they would have to ticket me (and that being a foreigner they would have to take me directly to court to pay). The cop rather comically suggested that I jump the fence to walk through the field to the ramp (lmao), but did nothing when I walked down the highway with my thumb out. The next ramp is absolutely useless, 17 vehicles in an hour, the cars with Serbian plates, the trucks going too fast to stop with very little space there. The traffic on the highway by there is going so fast you’ll be lucky to get a ride, which thankfully I was (all hitcher blessings to Edina who pulled over and took me across the border 🙏🏽), though not without a wait and much stress as the sun dipped to kiss the horizon.

I hate this spot. TONS of traffic, but the much, much greater part is going to Novi Sad. My arm got sore thumbing as I waited; the flow is never ending. Finally got a ride to Subotica after almost two hours, after five offers of rides to Novi Sad (even with my ‘Buda’ sign), and one car of jerks with German plates who dangerously veered toward me as if to tease they’d spot and then zoomed off 🙄

Honestly seemed like the best spot for getting out of Belgrade, and the two times I’ve hitched it has worked. Cars are going fast but they’re all going in your direction. The first time I waited four minutes, the second time forty. Neither time were they going far, but as other comments mention get a ride to the tollbooth not far ahead and you’re set.

Difficult to rate this spot, there is a little traffic at the gas station. A guy who saw me earlier at my other spot stopped and gave me a lift to the border.

Maybe i wasn't lucky but it was 18pm, tried for three hour to get a lift but nobody stopped, tried direct on the highway too with no success. End up sleeping there and someone took me the next morning after 2 hour to nič.

Hard to say if it is a good spot, it was sunday and a lot of cars were full, it took me a long time just to make a few km to the toll station

Lot of place to stop but the people are rolling fast. A nice guy took me direct to cacak after a couple of minutes. Not a lot of traffic going far but I was lucky. To cacak he helped me to get a simcard and bring me to the bus station

We were trying to get a ride towards Zlatibor. And were picked up by a guy who was going in Bosnia. He dropped us next to a bridge in Mali Zvornik where customs located. Place next to the bridge was absolutely terrible to hitchhike no one stopped in an hour and half.

Before that, the guy took me to a place a couple of kilometers away where there's a toll road with a fork to Belgrade and Niš. I had to walk to that place. It's unlikely you'll end up here, but it's a good location. I found a car right to Niš, which is where I needed to go.

Maybe because its not a tourist season or what but only like 30% of cars were with foreign plates and there was pretty low amount of traffic in the middle of weekday day. After one hour police showed up to do traffic check here so they said to fuck off but I moved only a bit further away and tried but was unsuccesful to get a ride for 90 more minutes after police called me again to write me a ticket but changed their mind after they saw my EU passport(???) so just said jump the fence to fields and fuck off completely. After that Iwalked to next gas station 15 km down the road because there was no traffic on ramps going down to highway in Hingary direction

Was trying to get to Hungary. Wrote Subotica on sign and got a ride by the guy going there. Asked to drop me off at Subotica toll station. I think its better to write Subotica because from what I saw there was not a lot of people going to Hungary so its better to probably just try to get to Subotica and then try Hungary. There was a looot of traffic but most of it cleared up after Novi Sad

I think this is quite a good spot to get out of belgrade north. Held a novi sad sign and got a ride like in 30 mins. Ofc there is two lanes so a lot of times trucks are blocking for cars to stop but there is no space on ramp to stop and here cars go slowly and there is plenty space to stop for people going up the highway.

Dont think its a good spot to wait. Cars just go too fast. And I was in the morning waiying so there was a lot of traffic on this street so multiple times I got blocked by thevtruck going out. I think is much better to move a bit closer to the city where the traffic lights are

Low traffic gas station and cars are often full but almost all of them go to Serbia and to Belgrade. You can find a car that is not full. Ask around with Serbian words to be polite and don't use a board. I had actually made some old Serbian friends that wanted to help me find an empty car lol. Thanks Milica and Zora!

Waited not that long actually but was lucky because very low traffic and cars are full. However you should probably find someone to go in direction of Serbia or to some gas station further where most of them will go to Serbia. Learn some words and phrase in Serbian to be polite. Ask around don't use cardboard. Thanks Alex!

This place was perfect to go to Serbia. Someone took me to Niš. My last destination was Belgrade, but from Niš to Belgrade was easy as well

Cars pass slowly and there is some grass to sit. No shade. After 30min I got picked up (after changing my sign to ‚25km M5‘ instead of Serbia). Still got 200km. I‘d recommend this spot over the one below.

pretty easy to get lifts, especially with truckers. Just go up to them as they sort their papers. got taken to rožaje then via his mate's car to the service station on the way to serbia

You're probably not going to get a ride all the way to where you want to go but there is a nice traffic light with a countdown so you just go in the middle of the road asking everyone and they'll bring you somewhere. I took 3 rides to get to the border to Serbia, crossed on foot and got to Pirot then bus to Nis cause you're not going anywhere if you get stuck in Pirot.

I waited a looot, direction Zagreb. At the end finally guy from Serbia helped me and gave me a ride to the next gas station

big potential its difficult to get there. you have to hitchhike to this spot i was lucky and one guy stop immediately. He went to Serbia. unfortunetaly not my destination.

A lot of Serbians cars going after the work (16-17:00) back home. A lot of traffic. I believe this is a good spot (especially for Serbia, where they don't usually take hitchhikers). You don't even need a sign. True that you won't get far though.

It seems to be a pretty good place to hitchhiking in the direction of Budapest. There is a gas station, a large parking lot for which trucks and passenger cars stand. The station can be reached directly from the E60 road. We tried to catch transport from there to Budapest (from where we wanted to go further towards Belgrade) we were lucky and we came across a driver from Serbia who easily offered us a ride to Belgrade. In general, the traffic is quite high and a lot of locals and tourists. (There is also a Tesla charging station so maybe you can hitchhiking a Tesla)

We used this spot to go to the Serbian border. Not many cars going to the highway/to Serbia from here, mostly local traffic. There is a traffic light that’s red very often for the cars, so they stand a lot and can see you well. There is space to pick you up.

Good place to catch a ride to Tuzla, traffic is slow and many cars returning from Serbia are passing there

Don't accept rides to Csengele if you want to go to Serbia, you may eventually get lucky and get out of this godforsaken place but you'll lose a lot of time trying, mostly tourists with packed cars or truck drivers heading towards Romania stop there

Gas station and rest area – a perfect spot for both northbound and southbound directions! Many cars heading to Oslo and Gothenburg, and one was even going all the way back to Serbia. Ask people at the gas station and in the charging area. I got a ride to Oslo.

Decent spot to go on further through the highway diretion Bosnia and Hercegovina or Serbia. A track driver took us to another gas station.
