In hitchwiki.org is said that you can start hitchhiking in the middle of the bridge after the little house... From my experience cars will not pick you up because they still have to pass by the immigration check point in the Malaysian side.

The best thing to do is to continue walking after the bridge in the cars path (there is different paths for different types of vehicle). It's a kind of speedway, so be careful and stay close to the tab. You may see some locals doing the same.

In the Malaysian side you just have to ask where is the immigration for people that walking (is the same for people that come in tour buses).

After stamping your passport you just have to get out of the border basement and start hitchhiking near the cars exit

Very good spot, from Singapore to Malaysia. Go walking through the check point, pass the various border guards telling them you will be picked up a little bit further by a friend (they would not let you pass if you say you're hitchhiking), walk till the middle of the bridge after a little house, here it is! If you take the bus over to Malaysia from Singapore you can walk east out of the Bus Station and find the road that leads to the freeway towards KL. I have hitched here twice in recent years and both times i got a lift very fast - like most places in Malaysia ;)

It is a good place to reach south toll gates. Cars drives quite slow and they have a lot of space to stop. There was a little renovation there so it can a bit change. From toll gates you can easily have a ride to Melaka or Singapore.

Using bus 400 you can get off on leisure mall or one bus stop earlier (should be even better).

Very good spot. Few meters after the junction. Good visibility. You can easily find a lift to Singapore or to Kuala Lumpur,

You have to walk few minutes away the town. You can easily get a free lift to the junction roads 64 and 98 (going to KL, Melaka, Singapore)

There is a big toll gate south of the city which is an excellent hitchhiking place, but not too easy to reach.

You can easily find a direct lift to Singapore.
