After being moved on from the on-ramp by police I settled on here. No better than the rest of the road. My advice would be to catch the bus from Lesce to the Jesenice rest stop if attempting to go north

I watched a lot of foreign plates pass by. I was picked up by a local who told me this wasn’t the best spot. He took me to the roundabout near the on-ramp. In hindsight it would have been a better option to wait here

You can get here by bus from Bled. Coming from the street behind there’s a section on the east side where there is a hole in the smaller wire fence. Not so much traffic. Sign for München, after a bunch of failed attempts today I was lucky to find someone going all the way there!

Quite a busy location. There’s lots of tourists walking along the sidewalk and busses pulling up at the stop. However still faster than waiting for the bus

Quickly found a ride to get us to Bohinj before sunset

Busses around here are late and unreliable. After waiting too long for one we opted to hitch back to Bled. Found a lift quickly and inspired a few others at the bus stop to try hitching too

Just finished our hike around Bohinj. Was waiting for the bus unaware that it doesn’t run up here in the off-season. Not many cars but fortunately we quickly found a lift back to town

Honestly one of the best spots I've been, super central in the city, lot's of traffic and roundabout is right there, so traffic is slow and nice. Tons of tourists going different directions, couple that picked me up were willing to take me all the way to Nürnberg. Use this spot when in Bled!

stood here, got a ride to opicina, which has lots of buses going to trieste

goated spot. even saw a deserted hitchhiking sign, and lots of inscriptions on the sign in front. that's where all the go frtraffic from LJ goes from - either west or east. hold a sign and be positive. people will stop

Amazing spot!! Great visibility, a lot of space, even for trucks to stop. This is the spot if you‘re heading to croatia. First truck directly picked us up to Rijeka.

stood at the wrong spot for too long. saw two other hitchhikers. The spot further up the street is better. There is a sign with many notes from hitchhikers ok the back. this is the best spot there and you‘ll find a ride

Bangin, hella good spot. Got scooped up in 30 mins and taken all the way to Zagreb. Had a Zagreb sign - Boy, Girl

Good spot. Lotsss of slow moving traffic going in every direction with room to pull. Just a matter of time. Got a young Austrian couple that took me up to north Austria from an 'austria' sign

Towards Italy, mainly to Trieste/Barcola area, this is the road that the locals take, they come to Slovenia to fill up their cars, motorcycles etc and use the entrance road in about 500 meters to go to the highway, decent traffic, mostly Italians, wait times of 5-15 minutes expected, way better than anywhere else around Sežana

Great option towards Croatian border, loads of cars and mostly locals and not maybe the comfiest bus stops however you'll get a car within 20-35 minutes

To Novo Mesto, locals going there, few cars but most likely will get someone to stop pretty fast, wait times of 5-15 minutes expected, can hitch all along the road, though more convenient by Veliki Slatnik

Towards Sevnica, main focus on cars on the main road but watch for the cars using the petrol station as well, medium traffic, quite some locals but possibilities to get to Novo Mesto are quite real as well as anywhere south from here, wait times of 20-40 minutes expected

only locals no one going north to slovenia, found a guy who took us all the way to ljubljana in the end

Towards Slovenia, possibility for long distances indeed, not the most used entrance to the highway however there's just about enough cars, mostly fully-packed tourists, wait times of 30-50 minutes expected

I did not use this spot myself but saw two hitchers there with one to a sign to Hungary and the other to Slovenia, it seems alright spot however if you do use this spot beware that it is very little noticeable for the drivers due to the way the trees are and I'd recommend you to put the sign further ahead on the road or to be partly on the side of the road, I literally noticed you lot on the last second, let alone normal car drivers, i am not sure if my driver even saw you guys, just a heads up :)

Ideal bus stop towards Žalec, possible to get long distances to anywhere in Slovenia, good visibility and super slow speeds, wait times of 5-10 minutes expected

Towards Dravograd/Slovenia, medium traffic, there's usually cars around the parking area 50 meters down the road so I'd hitch around this road entrance, loads of locals going between Austria and Slovenia, wait times of 10-25 minutes expected

Slightly inconvenient spot towards Lavamünd however medium traffic and low speeds guarantee someone to stop within 5-20 minutes, possibility to get a ride to Slovenia

Its good spot in the time of the nearby construction. We waited for 25 minutes. Even a police car passed by, but they had no problem with us. We traveled to Maribor with Slovenia sign.

We found it hard to find a way out of zagreb into slovenia. We also tried the gas station nearby but decided it was best to wait here and try to go to the toll station.

This petrolstation is permanently closed. Getting into slovenia is extremely hard now. I would recommend black riding a train into slovenia if you don’t want 2/6 hours waiting times.

One Car every two minutes, many going through Slovenia, luckily got a ride directly to Bovec (Slovenia) Male, white, 20

Had a sign that said “Croatia” and got a ride within 5 minutes. Good direction towards the coast of Slovenia and Croatia. There’s a road where people can turn in and everyone is not going that fast. It’s the last part of the road before all the traffic goes on highway.

Honestly, not the worst spot in the world. It serves as good mid-point between Croatia/Slovenia. Hitchhiked there around 11 AM on a Wednesday. Not a lot of traffic but it started picking up a bit in a few hours. Opposite to what everyone on here was saying, most people were going to Croatia and I wanted to go to Slovenia haha. Luckily a truck driver noticed me and told me to come with and took me all the way to Slovenia (my first truck ride heheh). Went an unusual route and went through Croatia then Slovenia instead of going directly through Slovenia (his end destination was Italy). I waited in front of the gas station with my sign saying “Slovenia”.

Worst place ever I just wanted to go to the next spot and had infinite luck with a guy who drove me straight to where I wanted to go to in Slovenia. On the way we stopped by a lake and went swimming there, really nice ride :)

Bad spot for going to slovenia since everybody from villach will use the next highway entrance, might be better for going west though.

After waiting about one hour without many cars there a guy came who would have taken me to italy but i only went with him to villach, where I can go into slovenia fast

Nice view, friendly people, very expensive coffee and still a shitty spot to go to Slovenia. Not as many cars as expected and lots of lots of people going to Germany (maybe due to the time - end of German summer holiday), prepared to sleep here but got lucky and was picked up by a nice guy on his way to Turkey after 20 minutes or so. But all in all: try this spot if you want to go to Germany or northern Austria, don’t try it for any other direction

It’s a perfect place to get to slovenia. There is a big factory and around 1-3pm many Slovenian people ends their shifts and heading back. One guy took us to Maribor after 30 minutes od waiting.

There was not much traffic, but we managed to get a ride to Slovenia almost right away. I believe that was rather lucky.

Not the busiest stop but there is a Starbucks and small restaurant there. Another person tried to get into Nürnberg but struggled a lot since most people who go there don’t stop right before. A lot of people were going towards Munich or to the west of Austria. I found a super sweet older lady who was going to Slovenia and she even dropped me off at the train station in Wels.
