Just adding that the pedestrian gate to the regular road was open for 2 days

Looks like a good spot, cars drive 50 kmh and can pullover on the bus stop. However, it took me 30 minutes until a car stopped that brought me to Jesenice. Lots of fuel tourists at the gas station.

Quiet Saturday, but a Slovenian Woman driving to München took me to the last gas station before München.

I asked around 5 minutes. Two guys from Croatia gave me a ride to Croatia Croatian is my mother language, I think that helped me a lot. April, Sunday 3 pm, not much cars

Amazing visibility and even space for a truck to stop. All the traffic from the highway to Croatia passes through here.

Great spot, stopped two locals going to Bohinj. Ended up spending the whole day with them, we drove as far as an hour away to do random outdoors stuff. Good times.

Not too much traffic obviously, but when we were almost to the bottom of the hill we stopped a delivery driver who took us all the way to LJ:)

Got a ride by a van driver in short order, he even took a detour to get us exactly to the farm we were staying at

I don’t know if I can recommend this spot, in order to stop the driver will have to block traffic. But we got lucky and stopped someone who didn’t care :)

We were picked up immediately, driver was not going to LJ but she took us a couple kms to the highway so we could hitch from there. If you wait longer here you could probably get to LJ easily.

We were trying to get to Litija from Prebold via this mountain road. Traffic was very sparse on a Saturday. After a span where there were no cars for 10 mins, we eventually decided to just walk to the other side of town and get to Ljubljana

We were waiting on a weekday afternoon which was suboptimal, as most LJ-bound traffic leaves in the morning and comes back after work. After 60mins we switched to sign to CE and got picked up fairly quickly. Our driver took as all around the area and gave us a place to stay. Long wait but well worth it, awesome experience :)

Direct ride to Ljubljana. A lot of cars were passing by but not stopping. Good spot for the gas station. For us, it worked better just putting the thumb and not a sign with the city

the last ppl dropped us at rupa and we walked to the border (20min walking through the village) there were not a lot of cars at the border but the first one we saw stopped and took us to illirska

Good spot bc there is a parking so ppl can stop but still we had to wait a long time to have one car to stop

Quite busy, you can signal to cars and ask people going to the parking space at the same time

plenty local trafic, possible to catch a ride to isola or koper (but you can take a bus it might be faster)

Some guy stopped the minute I put my thumb up but wasn't in my direction. Had a sign for Austria. A woman stopped 18 min later and took me to spittal

We got there on Saturday around 6 p.m. Two hours later, only a few cars had arrived. The drivers said they were heading to Austria/Slovenia. It was dark after 8 p.m., so we went to pitch our tent (you have to climb the hill at the station; it's very safe there). In the morning, we hitchhiked in about an hour, but traffic was a bit heavier. You can charge your phone at the point! I stayed there because I knew it could be worse at the border. Lot of people willing to take us, but everyone was going to Vienna or Linz, we wanted to go to Graz or Slovenia or somwhere west. After 1.5h we got lift to Italy.

We waited there for about two minutes with a sign saying “Ljubljana, Graz, Vienna,” and after two minutes, a man from Slovenia with Mercedes picked us up and drove us over to Ljubljana.

Maybe it was the rain, but this was dead. The spot is good in theory, it’s the first services after the Austrian border, and it’s easy to reach from Jesenice. Our walk from the train station was a couple of kilometres, but the underpass and service road maybe it very easy. Adding to that the both the gate to the construction site, and the subsequent one to the services itself were both unlocked, we thought we were in for a treat! (Despite being soaked through to the skin.) Then when we got there, disappointment set it. In was next to silent, and all the traffic was Austrian. Oops. There was nowhere good to stand in the rain, so we resorted to asking, and after a few firm NEINs, we finally met Rosemary. She had never taken a hitcher before and neither her nor her husband spoke any English. The turning point however, was when she learned I spoke Spanish, and decided I’d make some good practice for her on the way! So there we were, two French people soaked to the skin, in the back of a brand new Austrian Merc, speaking Spanish, to an Austrian, on her way to the dentist in Slovenia. If this isn’t why we hitch, I don’t know what is!

in the afternoon a woman picked me up on her way home to stuttgart and dropped me before as i was on my way to slovenia

a romanian trucker offered me a lift. he just started his shift and would have taken me all the way to italy, however i decided to avoid it and headed to slovenia over germany, hence he dropped me on aire de ambrussum

Not so many cars, but high possibility they go to Ljubljana or that direction. We wrote a sign “LJ”. Be careful, in Slovenia the license plates are not always as they are. Nice and helpful people around.

A lot of people from Slovenia work in Austria. We (2) asked a guy with a Slovenian license plate and took us directly to gas station next to Maribor which was good spot for our next ride to Ljubljana.

Nice place, and a bit of luck on a way directly to Graz. Guy took us to gas station near Graz airport. Probably good spot to Slovenia - Ljubljana.

First car accepted me. You can take train from Zagreb to Kupljenovo after that 20 min walking .keep in mind that you have to cross the highway to the opposite side if you are going towards Slovenia, when I was there there wasn't much traffic, January morning weekday

Got a ride to Koper in Slovenia, easy to cross border here. There is a bus stop, make a sign.

It's not a good place for a couple we waited a whole afternoon then slept here in tent on the next morning we found a truck driver who took us to Croatia. If you are alone it can be good there are some trucks there and most of them willing to take one person. ou can go to Slovenia or croatia from here but come here only if you are alone.

If you're going to maribor like me, dont be picky, take the first car even if Its going to zagreb centre, And Hop on a train direction zabok, exit at kupljenovo station and walk around 30 minutes to the gas station. I was picky And wanted to go straight to slovenia, but all Cars went to zagreb.

It seems to be great for Czech and Austria, but actually there are a lot of cars going S1 not A1, highly recommended to make a sign with direction. I waited there almost two hours, but after that I was taken by truck driver going to Slovenia. We managed to get to Brno in his driving time limit.

Not a lot of space but i got stop to border with Slovenia in 15 minutes, i standed with sign to Szombathely

We wanted to go to slovenia but most of the cars go westwards. There is not much traffic bit people are very nice. Many drivers stopped and asked us where we want to go but it was not our direction. Finally we decided to take a ride to a gas station on the highway that heads to slovenia eventough it was not the shortest way.

We were stopping there with multiple huge signs (slovenia, austria, airport) People passing be were interested and slow down to read the signs (we were creating a small traffic gem) The first guy who stoped was going to austria but didn't have enough space for both of us. After another 3h a guy from germany took as to the airport. The spot is propably as good as it gets around here.

Nice spot, with place for cars to stop, if it's not busy you can also try to hitch both cars from main road and the one from bellow on the opposite side. Got ride to Slovenia in 5min.

Really nice spot. Two cars stopped for me in 5 minutes. Looks like a lot of cars are local tho. Got a 15min ride to Unterloibl Ort, from where it was easy to get ride to Slovenia.
