Towards Italy, mainly to Trieste/Barcola area, this is the road that the locals take, they come to Slovenia to fill up their cars, motorcycles etc and use the entrance road in about 500 meters to go to the highway, decent traffic, mostly Italians, wait times of 5-15 minutes expected, way better than anywhere else around Sežana

Great option towards Croatian border, loads of cars and mostly locals and not maybe the comfiest bus stops however you'll get a car within 20-35 minutes

To Novo Mesto, locals going there, few cars but most likely will get someone to stop pretty fast, wait times of 5-15 minutes expected, can hitch all along the road, though more convenient by Veliki Slatnik

Towards Sevnica, main focus on cars on the main road but watch for the cars using the petrol station as well, medium traffic, quite some locals but possibilities to get to Novo Mesto are quite real as well as anywhere south from here, wait times of 20-40 minutes expected

Towards Zidani Most, slightly awkward area to stop cars, but it does the job, mostly locals around here but you'll get a car with around 20 minutes that goes further

Towards Zidani Most, perfect bus stop with great visibility. If u get a car to Laško definitely walk here, there's no good places over there, when walking here do use the road that goes trough Strmca, you dont want to walk on the tight bends on this road, wait times of 5-10 minutes expected

Towards Celje, locals using this road, great for townhopping, bus stop is alright, cars do tend to speed up a bit more since the roundabout is a bit further down the road but still you'll get a car to Celje within 10 minutes

Towards Slovenj Gradec, bus stop with huge parking area after it and most cars going quite some distance, low speeds, great traffic and good visibility, perfect spot, wait times of 5-10 minutes expected

Got here 8am on a Sunday. Not much traffic. Stops with a sign for 30mins, then had a wash and sat outside cafe for a while resting with sign. Back to exit with sign and picked up in 15 minutes from a couple Romanians on the way to France

Traffic lights stop often enough and the bus stop bay is close enough to them that people don't build up too much speed and can stop. All traffic going towards Ljubljana and celje. Got a ride to a gas station on route.

Not too much traffic when we were there but very responsive people. We almost got taken a few times but most cars are full kf families whith little space. We eventually got taken all the way to Zagreb by a friendly Czech dad with his daughter. Definitely ask around and dont just thumb.

Easy to access straight from Ljubljana (check hitchhiker wiki for good direction) but not at good spot for going to Zagreb. Not many cars, even fewer going direction Novo Mesto/Croatia

Lots of Traffic, sweet parking bay for cars to stop, most drivers seem rather unfriendly of hitchhikers but nevertheless took me less than 15 minutes to get a ride to Ljubljana

Towards Slovenia, possibility for long distances indeed, not the most used entrance to the highway however there's just about enough cars, mostly fully-packed tourists, wait times of 30-50 minutes expected

I did not use this spot myself but saw two hitchers there with one to a sign to Hungary and the other to Slovenia, it seems alright spot however if you do use this spot beware that it is very little noticeable for the drivers due to the way the trees are and I'd recommend you to put the sign further ahead on the road or to be partly on the side of the road, I literally noticed you lot on the last second, let alone normal car drivers, i am not sure if my driver even saw you guys, just a heads up :)

Towards Dravograd/Slovenia, medium traffic, there's usually cars around the parking area 50 meters down the road so I'd hitch around this road entrance, loads of locals going between Austria and Slovenia, wait times of 10-25 minutes expected

Slightly inconvenient spot towards Lavamünd however medium traffic and low speeds guarantee someone to stop within 5-20 minutes, possibility to get a ride to Slovenia

Its good spot in the time of the nearby construction. We waited for 25 minutes. Even a police car passed by, but they had no problem with us. We traveled to Maribor with Slovenia sign.

One Car every two minutes, many going through Slovenia, luckily got a ride directly to Bovec (Slovenia) Male, white, 20

Nice view, friendly people, very expensive coffee and still a shitty spot to go to Slovenia. Not as many cars as expected and lots of lots of people going to Germany (maybe due to the time - end of German summer holiday), prepared to sleep here but got lucky and was picked up by a nice guy on his way to Turkey after 20 minutes or so. But all in all: try this spot if you want to go to Germany or northern Austria, don’t try it for any other direction

It’s a perfect place to get to slovenia. There is a big factory and around 1-3pm many Slovenian people ends their shifts and heading back. One guy took us to Maribor after 30 minutes od waiting.

There was not much traffic, but we managed to get a ride to Slovenia almost right away. I believe that was rather lucky.

Not the busiest stop but there is a Starbucks and small restaurant there. Another person tried to get into Nürnberg but struggled a lot since most people who go there don’t stop right before. A lot of people were going towards Munich or to the west of Austria. I found a super sweet older lady who was going to Slovenia and she even dropped me off at the train station in Wels.

Terrible place to hitch hike to slovenia. If somebody offers you to take you to Villach, dont go.

we were sitting there with very few drivers even acknowledging us. we tried catching something going south, but drivers going north were more interested in taking us. not a very good place to hitchhike to slovenia, but maybe that's beceause we were there late in the evening, sunday. we walked to another place to hitchhike and got a ride really late

I definitely recommend this place! I decided to stay here because (at the time of writing this review) a bus leaves from this stop for the outskirts of the city, which makes it much easier to get out of town. And while you’re at it, you can also hitch a ride with someone heading toward Slovenia, Croatia, or Italy. I was traveling alone, a guy

Average spot. We got very lucky with a ride to Slovenia in maybe 15 minutes. Dude was very clear about his political perspectives.
