I walked 200m from this point, to a bus stop, if you like asking right at the red light you can stay there but otherwise i would suggest the bus stop
There it is easy to find a ride to uddevalla, but not further, night was falling so i gave up and took a lift to uddevalla
People who stopped said swedish were strange but i'm confident about hitchhacking in this country
After 1min a Securitas guy stopped, said that he can't take me in this work car but that i should call a taxi x)

Took me 2 min to find a ride to Goteborg, by the ferry, it's maybe the best spot to hitchhack out of the city, otherwise you have at least 20 more minutes to walk

Not bad. Cars can drive a bit fast but they can see you from far. We were lucky and got picked up quickly but it's hard to say if that would be common. We were two women.

OK spot but still the best on Kiruna for that direction. The guardrail ends about 100 meters from the intersection and then people can stop on the shoulder of the road quite easily. Good visibility and they aren't going too fast yet.

Good spot where people can easily see you and stop. Traffic goes a little fast though. The actual spot is just a little further than indicated here, it's a proper parking zone big enough for people to have time to brake.

I might’ve been lucky, but a long ass truck stopped for me there and I had my longest ride so far with one truck, though they did change drivers in Umeå (almost 900km from Piteå to Örebro).

Lot of truck drivers. Good for goteborg, helsingborg, trelleborg, ystad or other cities in sweden. Just ask around lot of polish and ukrainian drivers.

Keep in mind that lot of drivers is waiting for the papers, it can take 10,20 minutes or 5 hour or like mine drive who took me 4 days but happy for me i was waiting around an hour

A guy and a girl on a Sunday morning. This spot is bad, very few people pass through here. Yet it was better than the previous gas station for us... We gave up after a few minutes and a nice lady stopped as we were hitchhiking while walking back to Dingle. She took us to Moss.

A guy and a girl without a sign on a Saturday at noon. We were quite unlucky with this one. We waited for 5h hitchhiking every possible way, only to get ignored by people. The only people who stopped were going South but not towards Oslo. The spot is great in theory but people are very cold here. We ended up walking to Dingle, sleeping in the fields and hitchhiking cars at random on the small roads, which worked better than at the station somehow. We eventually got a ride to Moss, near Oslo. If you get stuck here, good luck !

A guy and a girl without a sign on a Friday evening. Don't know about the other spots in the area, but this spot is really dangerous, try not to end up here if possible ! There is clearly no place for cars to stop and cars go too fast.
We hitchhiked a bit down the road on an inserting lane and a guy took us to Håby, the next gas station, but we definitely apologised to him for making him stop there...

Great visilibity and a lot place for cars to stop even for trucks. Great spot for oslo and sweden. Truck driver took me to the border.
Keep in mind that in this area theres very few cars so you can wait a while but theres no other option:)

A guy and a girl without a sign on a Thursday at noon. Seems to be a very good spot to go to Sweden. We wanted to go to Oslo, but we accepted the first ride that took us East of Malmö. We should have waited a bit longer to go further north though, as there must be a lot of people going everywhere in Sweden that pass through here, and Sweden is hard to hitchhike...

Male, Sunday evening in summer, going south to Sweden. Mostly local traffic, but this is a place where people pass from Norway/Finland driving down to Sweden. Also a gasstation and a store nearby. Didn't need to camp because an elderly couple took me late in the evening to Sweden, but I think there is plenty of opportunities to camp in the forest.

i guess ive been very unlucky, cus in the morning there were a guy going to berlin and a couple going to sweden, and very quickly they got a ride
for me didnt work that well, i had to wait over 6h for a lift 50km north

after over 3 hours a car stopped and offered to take us to Tranås. this was around noon. Once we left Sweden we never had to wait nearly this long anywhere, so all i can say is, Sweden really sucks for hitchhiking
