No luck, took the bus after 20min. But there is space to pull over and I'm sure you'll be lucky eventually if you are patient.

Also great in the other direction, lots of space to stop and many people stop to take photos, you can ask them. Also, worth to stop yourself and have a look, great views and possible to do a little walk. One of my favourite lunch places while on the road

Good spot but difficult for cars to stop - saturday afternoon however wasnt too busy - 1 car every 25 seconds roughly so it meant that they had time to stop without causing traffic

I just landed in Geneva Airport and tried to get BlaBlaBus to Grenoble, but it got canceled :/ So I just found this spot on Google maps and decided to give it a try. There's enough space for cars to pull over, but not for trucks. And the road turns directly to the highway. A lot of French drivers, who work in Geneva and live in France go this way. Took some time but got a great company on the way and it was easier once in France.

Works towards Wil/St Gallen, although judging from the composition of license plates on passing cars, it would work better for a ride towards Frauenfeld/Lake Constance.

Not much space to pull over, still no problem getting towards Saignelégier. Very friendly locals for hitchhiking in the whole region, both french and swiss part :)

You'll get picked up towards Porrentruy in a matter of seconds, if you wait a few cars it's easy to get to get to Delémont as well. As everywhere in the region, a lot of traffic in the morning from French people working in Switzerland.

Great place towards Pontarlier. Preferably wait for a ride to France and not Le Locle, from then on its not difficult. Enough space to pull over, this spot seems much better than everything I've seen while walking from the train station.

There is a space (something like a bus stop bus no bus stopping) for cars to stop just before the Sportweg tram station, cars going not too fast. Got a ride to Bern with a Bern sign in like 45min. It seems to me that it's better here than at the traffic lights, because cars were always arriving when it's green... And you're just in front of the Finanzmuseum...

Worked pretty well asking around, got a ride in some 30min to Lausanne but the guy was going to Geneva.

The waiting times depends on my side I was dropped at 9pm there after a day with 500km And decided to sleep there in a garage in the back of the fuelstation And on the next day I asked a hand full of people and got picked up for 230 km So a great spot if it’s day but not at night

Good visible spot, cars can stop next to the road. Entrance to highways towards Germany and France. Lots of local trafic & French and German cars. But no luck with sign Freiburg. Finaly got a lift to Weil border gasstation.

Not the most perfekt but Very good A lot of cars go by slowly but the rich suiss people don’t really like hitchhikers And at this time of the year it’s cold

Rainy saturday morning. After three minutes oliver picks me up, invites me for coffee, bets on horseracing and brings me onto the highway direction geneva in no time! Good start :-)

Nice gas station+parking lot, most traffic was moving towards wallis for holidays so had to wait for a bit to get to lausanne

Illegal to stand on highway, but lots of space to stop next to the lane. Had a sign Bulle.

Hard to get away towards Simplon. Tried at 2 different gas stations. And asked truckers near Douane with no luck. Finaly walked to Brig station and bought trainticket to Italy

traffic mostly going to switzerland via basel, however i can't think of another option for france. can be a bit of a wait to get someone who goes at least to belfort and can drop you on the porte d'alsace. it's worth the wait. male, early 30s, alone

Great Spot to hitch a ride towards munich, Switzerland or Innsbruck. I managed to get a ride quite deep into Italy :)

Not sure how to get here, another driver got me here. Got a ride to Verona offered in less then 10 minutes. Wanted to go to Switzerland so I only took it to Autogrill Secchia Est near Modena, which had a little bit more traffic.

Got a ride instantly, straight to Renens. A lot of people live in france (its cheaper) and go to switzerland for work, so in the morning theres a lot of traffic, some to geneve and some to lausanne, maybe even further.

Good spot in summer. Don't know why was full pf switzerland cars. A german girl drop me at basel

Good amount of traffic, and cars are going slow and will read your sign. Lyon definitely is easier, I was trying to go to Switzerland but with a sign to Geneva I got a ride in about 20 minutes. And super lucky they were actually going to lausanne which is where I also wanted to go.

The pot is perfect, i was aiming italy so it takes long searching for italian cars, but if you want to go in france is super easy. Is possible also for germany and spain or switzerland and netherlans(in summer of course). There is a MC, the station is open 24, i slept there because was raining. There are 2 parking spot.

Worst place you can find for hitchhiking. We waited here for more than a day in the summer. Every car is rather full of families returning from vacation or refugees with car from switzerland. We had a cardboard saying Hrvatska, then we switched to Croatia, then we just asked people, but nobody wanted to take us or they had full car. After day on this gas station it seems like spawn for refugees with expensive cars. Stay in Belgrad instead, it's a nice city

The perfect spot if you are going to Switzerland. Lots of Swiss cars. A guy approached me in the bathroom after seeing my sign. He took me straight to my destination (Zürich). I didn't even have to wait. Strongly recommend this spot for Southbound travel.

I tried asking around at the gas station but all the cars were full or we're going towards Salamanca. There are a lot of truck drivers and foreigners (France, UK, Portugal, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland...) at the gas station, but many are families. After I decided moving to the entrance of the highway, a Spanish guy exited from the highway, and promised me to take me to Valladolid (my sign). Turns out he was going further and I ended up in Burgos.

great alternative to hitching from the border. we were a while standing on the on slip directly, but eventually we moved onto the road a little bit and one of the first french cars to pass stopped for us. theres good visibility and cars are already slowing down about to turn. at mid day on a weekday there was a decent amount of traffic, a lot of people in mulhouse commute to switzerland for work so you could catch a lot of french drivers going home after work around 5 or 6 potentially.

loads of traffic for switzerland, a lot of people cross the border for work so getting here early you catch commuter traffic to st gallen etc. also a few swiss cars driving by with sg plates, bathroom at the petrol station right behind to refill water and bins filled with cardboard for all your sign making needs :-)

Yeap.... this one is terrible for france, for Switzerland is really good, I changed my plans to go to Lyon through Switzerland after waiting too long

I decided to hitchhike from this place beacuse I couldn't find better one. I think that this place is not so good but I was lucky. Some guy stopped there, I asked him if he is going Innsbruck direction and he took me all the way to Switzerland.

To go to geneve super easy. I wanted to skip it because i was going to france and find a ride. There are some trucks, with time you may find a long way. More smiling people than in usuall switzerland roads. Nice place.
