If I remember well, there's a town service dropping you close to the motorway. I'll try to find which one it is exactly !―Anonymous, March 2012

When going to Lattaquia, someone dropped me here. Excellent spot to hitch, like every little point on the side of motorways in Syria !―Anonymous, March 2012

When going to Aleppo, I was stucked in a petrol station just before Homs. Someone dropped me and my sister who just arrived in syria here. I think some services did not want us to hitchhike this time. Anyway, after trying the two sides (hide officers were telling us cars to aleppo were on the other side, true story !!), we finally found a car to Hama. Don't care about it, I'm pretty sure it was expectionnal. It never happened after. Plus, i'm pretty sure this service station was sort of good option!―Anonymous, March 2012

Here is the spot I used to hitchhike for one year when I wanted to go up North. Never waited more than 10min. Moreover, we were 3 that time. If you want to hitchhike in Syria, good think to know is that you just have to raise your hand whenever and wherever you want. Someone will always take you after only few seconds/minutes waiting. You don't need any boards like in Europa. Enjoy, salaam―Anonymous, March 2012

Spot for hitchhiking east towards Al-Raqqah, Lake Assad, Deir ez-Zur. To catch rides within seconds, best is to walk some 100m up the road away from the locals who take the minibusses.rating: 5/5

Lol, that was random. It's a crowded gas station somewhere there, the first truck driver from Syria I asked was going all the way to Dubai. Prepare for your ~10 hours drive. So lucky. But still, be careful about the heat

it's an empty gas station! 3 cars each 10min, got a ride only for some KM further direction Serbia with two nice young guys.If you are two persons it will be hard for you (my case boy and girl) and specially in summer, lot of people going to Turkey and Syria with full cars, the real meaning of a full car! not even space to breath, anyway my advices is to separate and take trucks if you are two.
