One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Subic to Angees. A very good spot. Loads of space to stop and good visibility. Plus the shade. I was straggling all day. This part of the Philippines wasn't good for me. Until I reached this spot. After 5 minutes I got a lift all the way to Angeles - my destination.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Subic to Angeles. Generally ok spot. Enough space to pull over. Busy but not hectic traffic. Shade to hide in. But it looks this part of the Philippines is hard to hitchhike. Some people coming and asking me what I do. Offering to help get a bus or even trying to give me money. After 45 minutes I got a short ride.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Subic to Angeles. It's actually the only place possible to hitchhike. Other places are too urban. Not a very good spot. Loads of paid transport blocking the other cars. So it was hard to hike. After 25 minutes I got a very short ride (1/3 way to Olangapo). And then I took a jeepney to Olangapo. Generally the Philippines is a good place to hitchhike. But the part between Subic and Olangapo it's better to take a jeepney.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Burgos to Subic. A few metres after the "Thank you for visit"arch. A good spot. Just before a bridge, but enough space to stop. Not very busy traffic. After 15 minutes I got a long ride my destination - Subic.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Burgos to Subic. A very good spot. Loads of space to stop and good visibility. There was very little traffic, considering it's the Philippines. A car even 1-2 minutes. After 30 minutes I got a long ride to San Filipe.

One male 40+, one big, one small backpacks, very sunny day. Well, it wasn't hitchhiking per se, since I was enjoying my walk through villages, towards Burgos, when I guy stopped and asked me if I needed a lift. So, since I got a lift it couldn't, right 😁

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from to Agnk. A good spot. Loads of space to stop. No much traffic. Mostly motorbikes, few cars. Good thing about this spot was the shade. After 5 minutes I got a ride in a back of a lorry.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from to Ango. A good spot. Loads of space to stop. Drivers coming from a bridge, can see you from above. The bad thing is no shade, so I was "frying" there. Lucky it took me only 10 minutes to get a ride to Bani.

I was using this spot the second time. (Look up my previous rating). This time it was even faster. 5 minutes wait. I was dropped 3 kms before Malasiqui, which I walked.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. On my way from Angeles to Malasiqui. That was a weird spot. I've been hitchhiking two weeks in this country and it's been quite good. People understand the concept. Only once a guy stopped and asked me if I needed money. But this spot was different. Not only because I had the longest wait. But also coz strange behaviour of people. Firs 3 cars stopped even though they were going 2-3 kms only. Two of them were handing me money (literally 🤑). They were very surprised that I didn't take them. And then one women stopped and was trying to stop a bus for me. It took me some time to explain her that I'm hitchhiking. It turn out she was going my way. When I asked her if I could go with her, she was shocked and said "No". And then left. All my many experiences in this country were so different than this spot. The spot is very good. No very busy. Loads of space to stop (I was picked eventually by a big lorry). And very importantly, in a shade of trees. My experience is that the better spot the longer wait. Really 😂 After one hour a lorry took me almost all the way where I needed.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. On my way from Angeles to Malasiqui. A good spot. Enough space to stop. And, very importantly, some trees giving shade. After 10 minutes I got a ride to Tarlac.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. On my way from Angeles to Malasiqui. It was actually the first spot free of houses, vendors, shops etc. coming from Angeles center. Decent enough. On a curve, but with quite some space to stop, and you will be visible from far. The traffic still busy, bus ok. Better than in the city itself. After 15 minutes a motorbike stopped. He said he was going to Tarlac. Actually he was going only that direction. He dropped me in the middle of Capas. Which meant a long walk to find a new good spot. But then quickly I got a new ride.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. On my way from this town to a Malasiqui. I was waiting at a bus stop (a rare sight in the Philippines) for a bus. But I decided to give it a go with my thumb up. Within 5 minutes I had a ride to Carmen Rosales bus terminal. A short but useful ride for me. Quite busy traffic.
