Spot is nice in itself. Waited 2 hours, 1 car every 10 min from Hungary. Move precisely where the pin is to also catch trucks. Met migrants walking. Walked there from the last station in Hungary, people going to Szeged can drop you there. Plan on having food and water as in the summer there Is no shadow at all.

Hitched here from ~5pm-9pm (it's well lit and sun didn't set till 8ish), pitched my tent in a nearby field, and proceeded to hitch here again for several more hours the next day. Police told me to go to the petrol station 1km down the highway, I did, absolutely NO cars there, so I came back. Police saw me again , was not happy at all, threatened to take me back to the station to pay a fine. Told him I'd been here since yesterday and he was silent for a while and then drove off. Walked to Horgos and got a bus to Subotitsa.

I was hitchhiking here with a big BG sign (Belgrade), but even a whole family stopped to me and asked if I go to Bulgaria or not.. :) haha. Nice, crowded place though!

Getaway to Bulgaria and Turkey. A lot of Turkish tranzit traffic passing through. If you cross the border on foot, walk to the end of the parking lot where you see the passage of the trucks reconnect to the road. Altough the very beginning of the road is a more tempting place for hitching, it is regularly checked by Serbian police. I got an enquiry and a kind request to move back to the end of the parking. From the edge you will be able to show your sign to both sides. (to the truck drivers and cars alike) From here I got a drive to Bulgaria, though the truck's final destination was Istanbul.
