I didn't even have to look around, I barely had the time to explore the parking area to figure out how big it was or where to stand/turn around, and someone gave me a ride (before I even asked) because they saw my sign for Bayonne.

Didn't have immediate success with cars so tried our luck with the trucks and the first one took us two hours south on the A63

Waited for a while with lots of other hitch hikers but did eventually get a lift all the way to Spain. Very busy rest place and good for getting south into Europe.

Direction Bayonne. Waited for about 1 hour until I got a ride from someone going to Arcachone. Which I only found out after I got in. Might have worked out if I'd waited a bit longer.

First, quite late in the evening we got an offer to go to Arcachon, which is not a very good decision, so we rejected it. The following day after around 2 h we got a ride to Burgos, Spain.

Works in both direction. Excellent one. I had to wait like 45 min with a friend, and less than 10 minutes with my girlfriend when going north. When getting south, never waited less than 15 min
