Aire de Ferrières

A bit long to get here but simple (just RER to Bussy St George and just walk, better than going to Vémars).
A kind worker took us (we were 2) to the station near the end.
We found an old couple who took us to Reims, good people.
Good place to go east, I also want to try if by I can go to Brussel easier from Paris by starting here compared to Vémars maybe.

Waited around an hour with a sign that said Germany, changed it to Reims and got a ride in 45 minutes. It was raining which made the wait unpleasant and long.

Easy spot to reims. 30% of cars stopped

Harsh road going there by foot from Bussy-Saint-George, but I met a fellow Hitchwiki user there. We got a ride to Reims after about 15 min of her asking and me waiting with a sign. Spoiler : asking worked best...

Used this spot alone before without problems, often got rides to Reims easily and quickly.

Tried it again with a friend recently and we were stuck there for 2 hours, as no one seemed to be going east. Lot of locals cars. Guess we were just out of luck that day. Ended up finding a ride to Metz after a little more than a 2h wait.

The way to get there is long, crossing the grown corn maze was not the easiest but still doable.

Good place, but a lot of local cars, took me an hour during sunday afternoon to get at least to the next rastplatz. Still probably best spot for continuing east.
Prepare for harsh road! walking through the bush next to the bridge, then across the field and after that you have to climb the fence. I arrived to the station with my shoes totally soaked.

Good spot, got a direct ride to Strasbourg after 30min. Many german cars so quite easy to go far.
The only thing is that it's quite long to get there, but you can hitchhike in the industrial area and hopefully save 20min walking :)

As soon as we got here we asked a car with a german license plate for a ride and got all the way to Manheim

Strongly recommend. Fun to get to.

Good spot, but eventually paid some little money to Romanian guys for trip to Nurnberg (16 EUR per person) rather that staying overnight.

In 30 min car to Poland. beautiful place.

Very good spot, got a ride to Germany after 3 minutes.
The only problem that it takes some time to get there from Paris. Used Metro and public trains and a hitch to get here from Bussy Saint Georges.

I got a ride to Forbach (german border) after waiting for 45 minutes. The french driver even spoke fluent german. ;)

best place to hitchhike if you want go in east of Europe or France

―Anonymous, September 2014
very good place to hitchhike fare distances into the east
in our case to Trier

―Anonymous, September 2014
Somewhat long (45 min.) but very nice walk to the gas station. 2 people waiting for 5 minutes to get a ride to near Kaiserslautern (intended destination was Stuttgart or Karlsruhe).

―Anonymous, August 2014
not so easy to reach but once you are there you got a ride to the east for sure. i had to climb over the fence of the petrol station, but it was already used many more times and so it was just a big step over it that gave me a gramp:D

Schworze, January 2014
Forget about the walk, you can easily go to the petrol station from the center. Simply prepare a board with station à 2km and hitch from the roundabouts close to the RER station ;) Anyway, I hitched there three times and didn't found this spot excellent...

A good spot to get out of Paris, but a long way. With the RER from Chatlet, then get of Bussy-Saint-Georges. From there through the industrial area. I d recommend to write down street names first to know where to cross the highway. There s a small bridge not far from the petrol station. After crossing it, one has to either cross the fence of the highway and walk along it till the petrol station or cross fields and afterwards the fence of the petrol station. When i went, it was easy since they were reparing the stop and there where wholes in the fence of the petrol station. Otherwise it s probably hard to climb it.

Takes about an h to walk from Bussy St Georges but a good spot

―Anonymous, October 2012
Very good hitchhiking spot. The second person I asked took me to Metz (about 300 km).
However hard to access by public transport (long walk if you have a heavy pack from Bussy-Saint-Georges RER station).

Once you get out of Paris, this is the best place to start off

Easily get a ride to peage described in the article.

―Anonymous, March 2011
Although it's a very good spot to leave from it takes a looooong time to get there. Took me 2 hours to get there from Cité Universitaire...

Mdsmendes, January 2011
> A4 Reims, Metz, Strasbourg, Germany and Luxembourg

reach this gas station from Bussy Saint Georges RER A train station, then walk through the industrial area of Bussy, then cross onto the bridge, then follow for some hundred meters in the grass along the A4.

25-30 minutes wait.

Best point for getting out of Paris - 45 min by RER

The Page is not far from here.

asked the first driver who took my right up to my destination in germany :-) people can bring you here, because its just before the peage!
