I wanted to go to Clermont for Christmas but fucking parisians don't know their geography. They told me they went by Clermont but they were going to Haute Savoie, they thought Clermont was in the Alpes...... So they didn't even pass by Lyon so I had to stop at Aire de La Chaponne which was a nightmare. The place itself is good if you want to go to Lyon though.

2022. I recommend this spot because it is very easy to there (take rer B and the a bus). You will arrive to the Air of Lisses were you can ask people while they are in the gas station or buying things. We found a direct trip to Lyon, but you can also ask to be taken to the next peage.

At the exit under the viaduct you're shaded/dry. My driver went to Grenoble so I got out just before Lyon.

Devant le magasin de la station essence; tu pose ton sac avec dessus une pancarte qui indique quelle grande ville tu vises (tu peux faire en tape ou etre creatif). Moi j'allais a Marseille et j'ai mis une pancarte avec "+ vers le sud" et une autre "Mars" !! Tu laisse les gens regarder tes pancartes ton sac lorsqu'ils rentrent dans la boutique, toi t'es pas tres loin mais pas coll a ton sac... ils font le lien, rapidement.. ils ont le temps de reflechir a l'interieur du magasin s'ils veulent ou non prendre qqun en stop...
et quand ils sortent tu leur demande gentillement ou est ce qu'ils vont.
Sinon tu vas directement demander aux gens qui sont en train de faire le plein, et tu fais toutes les voitures !
Cette aire d'autoroute est vraiment bien pour aller dans bcp de directions vers le sud.

epuis la banlieue parisienne, c'est un peu la misere d'arriver jusqu'a la gare de Villabé. Mais une fois là, j'ai fait du stop de la gare a la station autoroute (1minute!!) et j'ai ete prise jusqu'a Lyon en moins de 15 minutes. Super spot pour partir de Paris.

we waited for a very long time, about 4 hours, though other hitch hikers got a lift after 30 min, another one after 2. it's all about luck. though in the end we found a lift to auxerre and the guy left us in front of the place we were couchsurfing.

got out from Paris once with 4 other friends, making two groups. Made it again recently with my girlfriend, only had to wait 10 minutes before leaving the station to Auxerre. You can surely find a good car from here, but if you don't want to wait, go directly to the peage, asking drivers to leave you there.

it's a very good spot once you get there. Might seem like a long shot but probably shorter than waiting 3hr at Porte Italie!

peage, many trucks go this way to clermont-Ferrant, Millau and Montpellier, very good possibility for a nighttrip because of the long way.

En français pour les français ^^
RER D direction Melun, arrêt Villabe (attention il n'y en a pas beaucoup qui y passent, un par heure environ. La ligne est compliquée). Un quart d'heure de marche depuis la gare, tendre le pouce ça marche une fois sur deux.
De la station demandez au moins le péage de Fontainebleau.

The best solution to get out from Paris. Take a D train from Chatelêt to Villabé, or a C train to Juvisy, then another train to Villabé. Check well, not all D trains go this route. No trains after 21 h
