Not that many people on a morning and a huge station. We got a lift after 90min.

We (1 male 1 female) asked around for just short of an hour before getting a ride to Nimes, there are a lot of families and full cars but also plenty of people going north and some going to Italy.

Lots of families with kids. As always make sure to place yourself in the lane where people go in the same direction as you

WE were dropped off from the direction barcelona. so our destination was montpellier. At the gas station there are two sides. the cars who are filling up there gas on the left side are heading to north, the others to south. We waited 1,5 days to get a lift to montpellier. I thought it will be better than before the border. But hey! Why 1,5 days? Weve met a lot of nice people but all the cars were full or the people think we are crazy damn alcohilcs. i dont know....

I was dropped there direction Barcelona, that was a very bad idea, nobody there. I finally walked to the D900 which is just 10mins walk, i then got a lift in 10mins.

Seemed to be a good idea but got stuck here for 3+ hours... Maybe it was just the wrong day to try (2nd Sept) but I see a couple of problems with this place if you are going north.

- even though it is a big service area, Spaniards coming from Spain would have already stopped at La Jonquera that vastly reduces your chances
- the truck parking lot is a 5 minute walk from the station itself which makes it impossible to cruise around both trucks and cars asking for a ride
- the petrol station has two exits, so if you are a cardboard guy, you have to back off beyond the roundabout where the two roads merge. Again, drivers are already prepared mentally to drive away by then so you'll need quite some luck to stop them
- you may try the very highway entrance close to the truck parking but there is no shadow and cars are already going at a decent speed

Long story short, get dropped off at La Jonquera instead!

This is a useful service area to be dropped to if you're hitching north from Catalonia along the motorway.

I waited for 1h 10 mins for a ride: a truck that took me to near Nmes.
